Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif adalah salah satu hal yang sangat penting bagi siswa, terutama dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Gaya belajar siswa memberikan pengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket gaya belajar, tes soal kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek diambil dari setiap gaya belajar masing-masing 3 orang siswa untuk diwawancarai agar memperdalam data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua siswa dengan gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik tidak ada yang memenuhi indikator kebaruan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dengan gaya belajar visual berada pada kategori kreatif dengan indikator yang dipenuhi adalah kefasihan dan keluwesan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial berada pada kategori cukup kreatif dengan indikator yang dipenuhi adalah kefasihan dan hanya beberapa yang memenuhi keluwesan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik berada pada kategori kurang kreatif dengan indikator yang dipenuhi adalah kefasihan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan gaya belajar visual lebih baik dibandingkan siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial dan kinestetik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi statistik pada materi statistika ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Mataram tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Mataram dengan subjek penelitian adalah 87 siswa yang terdiri dari kelas VIII-A dan VIII-C yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, tes tertulis dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa siswa memiliki gaya belajar yang berbeda-beda dan gaya belajar visual sebagai gaya belajar terbanyak yaitu 47 dari 87 siswa memiliki gaya belajar visual. Selanjutnya, hasil skor kemampuan literasi statistik siswa berada pada kategori rendah yaitu 52 dari 87 siswa dan rata-rata skor seluruh siswa yaitu 47,19. Posisi bangku siswa setiap gaya belajar menghasilkan kategori kemampuan literasi statistik yang berbeda khususnya pada siswa dengan gaya belajar visual dan auditorial, namun siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik tidak memiliki perbedaan pada kategori kemampuan literasi statistik berdasarkan posisi bangku siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kurangnya penggunaan alat bantu/ media dalam pembelajaran, mendorong tim pengabdian untuk melakukan kegiatan pelatihan bagi guru-guru SD pelajaran matematika Gugus III Gunungsari, Lombok Barat. Fokus pelatihan adalah pembuatan dan penggunaan alat peraga volume bangun ruang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai dengan penyampaian materi, dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi dan pembuatan alat peraga, serta evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru-guru dalam membuat dan menggunakan alat peraga volume bangun ruang meningkat. ABSTRACT The lack of teachers’ interest in using teaching media for mathematics learning encouraged the community service team to conduct a professional development for elementary school mathematics teachers in Cluster III Gunungsari, West Lombok Regency. The community service aims to coach elementary school mathematics teachers to be able to make an instructional media for solid volume learning material. The coaching started with the presentation, demonstration, making the teaching aids, and evaluation. The results show that the coaching has improved the teachers’ knowledge and skills in making and using the solid volume visual aids.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is one of the essential competencies of the 21st century, playing a crucial role in fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, initial assessments indicate that students’ mathematical literacy skills remain relatively low, partly influenced by differences in learning styles. This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy abilities of tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Sakra Timur in the 2025/2026 academic year, viewed from visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with subjects selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a learning style questionnaire, a mathematical literacy test based on trigonometric contexts, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that students’ mathematical literacy skills were generally at a low level, with visual learners tending to achieve a medium level, auditory learners ranging from low to medium, and kinesthetic learners showing variation from low to high. These results highlight a strong relationship between learning style characteristics and mathematical literacy performance. In conclusion, developing adaptive instructional strategies tailored to students’ learning styles is crucial to optimizing mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' thinking levels based on Van Hiele's theory on quadrilaterals and triangles material in terms of reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII H SMP Negeri 1 Wanasaba. The instruments used are cognitive style tests, geometry tests, and interviews. The results showed that the cognitive style of students in class VIII H of SMP Negeri 1 Wanasaba was generally dominated by students with reflective and impulsive cognitive styles, 71.9% greater than students with fast accurate and slow inaccurate cognitive styles, namely 28.1%. Students with reflective cognitive style are generally at the analysis level (level 1). Reflektive students are able to identify the shapes of quadrilaterals and triangles, are able to determine the names of a quadrilateral and triangular shapes, are able to determine the properties and similarities of the properties. Students with impulsive cognitive style are generally at the visualization level (level 0). Impulsive student at this level are able to identify rectangular and triangular and are able to determine the names of flat shapes correctly but not yet complete.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan kurangnya pengembangan pembelajaran matematika inovatif yang menyenangkan yang dilaksanakan guru-guru di SDN 4 Suntalangu sebagai salah satu sekolah di Gugus Suntalangu Kecamatan Suela Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Permainan edukatif matematika merupakan solusi yang dapat mengatasi kurangnya pengembangan pembelajaran inovatif yang menyenangkan untuk dilaksanakan di sekolah-sekolah dasar Gugus Suntalangu Kecamatan Suela Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan guru-guru SD di Gugus Suntalangu Kecamatan Suela Kabupaten Lombok Timur tentang permainan edukatif matematika dan meningkatkan keterampilan dalam penerapannya di kelas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini sudah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 31 Mei 2025 bertempat di SDN 4 Suntalangu. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam bentuk kegiatan yang terdiri dari: (1) Diskusi terfokus FGD (Focus Group Discussion) peningkatan pengetahuan tentang permainan edukatif matematika, dan (2) Penerapan permainan edukatif matematika dalam praktek pembelajaran dalam lingkup terbatas. Kegiatan ini diharapkan bermanfaat bagi guru-guru SD di Gugus Suntalangu Kecamatan Suela Kabupaten Lombok Timur dan berdampak pada terjadinya peningkatan kompetensi professional dan pedagogik, yaitu meningkatnya pengetahuan tentang permainan edukatif matematika dan keterampilan menerapkan permainan edukatif matematika dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

The learning process of elementary schools in Suntalangu village has not fully integrated digital technology in the learning process, so innovative technology-based learning has not run optimally. Some of the reasons for this are that schools do not have libraries and laboratories, so students and teachers have limited access to adequate learning resources. Based on this, to improve the quality of mathematics learning in Elementary Schools (SD) Gugus Suntalangu can be done using website-based digital media. Specifically, this media is expected to help visualize the material, increase student interaction, and improve understanding of concepts. Another goal is to improve teachers' ability to integrate digital technology into the learning process and implement innovative digital-based learning approaches. The method of implementation is by holding technology adaptation training for teachers in the suntalangu cluster. The service activity was held at SDN 4 Suntalangu, East Lombok, on May 28, 2025, with 20 teachers from 14 elementary schools as participants. This service has succeeded in improving teachers' ability to use website-based digital media. This learning media has proven to be relevant and effective in helping teachers and students in elementary schools.

Abstract

The Effect of Socratic Questioning-Based Student Worksheets on Improving Students’ Critical Thinking Skills. Objective: The ability to think critically plays an essential role in students' achievement in the 21st century, yet its development in science classroom instruction continues to be insufficient. Science education can be monotonous, the content is often perceived as complex, and students typically lack confidence during discussions. This study investigates the influence of Socratic Questioning-based Student Worksheets (SQ-SW) on the improvement of critical thinking skills among junior high school students regarding excretory system content. The novelty of this study lies in the deliberate integration of Socratic questioning techniques into student workbooks, a topic that has been scarcely explored in previous research. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental framework with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Participants involved 64 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Banjarmasin, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group used the SQ-SW, while the control group used conventional worksheets. Data were collected through a validated response questionnaire and a critical thinking skills assessment, both of which have been confirmed as valid and reliable. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach, normality and homogeneity tests, paired-sample t-tests, and independent-sample t-tests. Findings: The findings indicated that SQ-SW could be efficiently applied with a commendable rating. Students in the experimental group demonstrated notable progress in critical thinking, achieving a moderate N-gain (0.56), whereas the control group achieved only a minimal N-gain (0.11). Four critical thinking dimensions (question formulation, hypothesis creation, self-regulation, and conclusion formation) showed moderate advancement. However, the analytical dimension displayed more constrained growth. Conclusion: The use of SQ-SW significantly influences junior secondary students' mastery of excretory system content and their development of critical thinking. Integrating Socratic questions throughout student worksheets creates a systematic, motivating pedagogical approach that breaks conventional classroom routines while enhancing conceptual depth. This investigation introduces a fresh educational technique adaptable to diverse science subjects and academic stages.   Keywords: critical thinking skill, excretory system, science learning, socratic questioning.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang penting dimiliki oleh siswa. Namun, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di sekolah masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 11 Mataram pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest-only control design. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari seluruh siswa kelas IX yang berjumlah 85 siswa yang tersebar dalam tiga kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling dan diperoleh dua kelas sebagai sampel yaitu kelas IX A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model discovery Learning, dan kelas IX B sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji parametrik (uji t) dan perhitungan effect size. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 75, lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yang memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 64. Hasil uji t menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan nilai rata - rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai effect size yang diperoleh sebesar d = 0,71, yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Discovery Learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 11 Mataram pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences and the Effect of the influence of the Discovery Learning model on the mathematical communication skills of grade VIII students at SMPN 11 Mataram in the academic year 2025/2026. This study is an experimental study with a quasi-experimental posttest only control group design. The research population consisted of grade VIII students at SMPN 11 Mataram, with sample classes VIIIA as the experimental class and VIIIB as the control class, selected through cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques used mathematical communication ability test instruments. Before conducting data analysis, prerequisite tests were carried out, including normality and homogeneity tests. The main data analysis was performed using the Independent Samples t-test and effect size calculations. The results showed that: 1) The average mathematical communication ability score in the experimental class was 78.4, which was higher than that in the control class, which was 67.4; 2) There was a difference in the average mathematical communication ability scores between students in the experimental class and those in the control class, with an effect size of d = 0.82, which is classified as large. In conclusion, the application of the Discovery Learning model has an effect on the mathematical communication ability of grade VIII students at SMPN 11 Mataram in the academic year 2025/2026.
