Abstract

Financial literacy is an important aspect in determining individual behavior in managing finances, including in choosing financial services that are in accordance with sharia principles. Among students, a good understanding of financial concepts and products can influence their decisions in using sharia banking services. This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy on students' decisions in using sharia banking products. The method used is a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis technique. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents. The results of the instrument testing showed that all items were valid and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.740 for financial literacy and 0.909 for usage decisions. The results of the simple linear regression analysis produced the equation Y = 17.917 + 2.047X. The hypothesis test showed a significant effect with a t_count value of 2.708, which is greater than the t_table of 1.66023, and a significance value of 0.001 which is below the threshold of 0.05. This finding indicates that every one unit increase in financial literacy will increase the decision to use Islamic banking products by 2,047 points. This study contributes theoretically by strengthening the discourse on financial literacy within the framework of Islamic economics and providing empirical evidence in the context of university students. Practically, it offers recommendations for higher education institutions and Islamic banking institutions in designing educational strategies and financial literacy enhancement programs to promote Islamic financial inclusion among the younger generation.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major infectious disease in Indonesia. Data from the Ampalu Community Health Centre in 2023 showed 93.5% service coverage for suspected TB patients (430 people), with 26 confirmed cases. However, from January to August 2024, only 33.3% of the screening target (66.7%) was achieved, revealing a gap in early detection and the need to enhance community participation. The TB Friend Action program was developed as a community-based intervention integrating education, case screening, and health information dissemination to improve knowledge, reduce stigma, and strengthen community involvement in TB control. The activity was implemented in September 2024 in Korong Palak Juha, Ampalu District, Padang Pariaman Regency, involving 48 participants from local communities and at-risk families, supported by cadres, community leaders, and community health centre staff. The intervention comprised three components: interactive outreach using lectures and the Emo-demo method, sputum collection for case screening, and the distribution of educational media (leaflets, posters, banners, and x-banners). Evaluation through pre- and post-tests, observation, and screening analysis showed a significant improvement in knowledge, with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test yielding Z = -5.98 and p < 0.001 (pre-test 57.52 ± 14.57; post-test 68.10 ± 9.21). High community engagement was evident from active participation and the collection of 26 sputum samples for laboratory testing. The TB Friend Action effectively enhanced community understanding, reduced stigma, and fostered collaboration between communities and health workers. Integration with routine health centre programs and regional policy support is recommended to ensure sustainable TB prevention and control.

The study employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. The population consists of all employees of the company, totaling 36 individuals. Data were collected through questionnaire distribution. Data analysis techniques include validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the t-test (partial), F-test (simultaneous), and coefficient of determination (R²).The results indicate that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Employee loyalty also shows a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, work discipline and employee loyalty have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. The coefficient of determination reveals that these two variables explain 59.6% of the variance in employee performance, while the remaining proportion is influenced by other variables outside the research model. These findings highlight the important role of work discipline and employee loyalty in improving employee performance at PT Media Swara Prima Rantau Prapat.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve products and services at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Tanjung Balai in the Society 5.0 era. Using a qualitative approach involving field observations, employee interviews, and document review, the study finds that AI can enhance product personalization, accelerate customer service through chatbots and automated data analysis, and strengthen risk management and transaction security. However, implementation faces challenges related to infrastructure, human resources, data integration, and customer digital literacy. Sharia compliance requires human and supervisory oversight. Abstract

This study seeks to investigate the impact of future aspirations, discretionary income, and Islamic financial practices on the embrace of a halal lifestyle among university students in Medan City. This study employs a quantitative technique with an associative research design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents, determined using the Slovin formula, with purposive sampling being the applied method. Data were collected through questionnaires and processed using multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The findings indicate that future ambitions, discretionary income, and Islamic financial practices have a favourable and significant impact on the adoption of a halal lifestyle. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.499 signifies that 49.9% of the variance in halal lifestyle is explained by the three independent variables in the model, while the remaining 50.1% is influenced by external factors not included in this study. The findings indicate that the halal lifestyle among university students in Medan City can be reinforced by fostering positive future expectations, managing pocket money effectively, and adopting Islamic financial behaviours consistent with Islamic principles. Consequently, a halal lifestyle reflects students’ awareness in applying sharia principles in both economic activities and daily life practices.
