Abstract

Participation in physical activity and sports is beneficial for psychosocial health among children and adolescents with a disability. People with disabilities are far less likely to engage in physically active lifestyles than are people without disabilities. This study was conducted to investigate the importance of physical activity participation for persons with disabilities. A total of 100 (men = 59, women = 41) persons with disabilities aged between 10 to 40 years old participated in the study. The instrument used was The Benefits of Exercise towards Persons with Disabilities and Social Support to Exercise for Persons with Disabilities developed by Rauzon designed to investigate the importance of physical activity for disabled persons. The research instrument used for this study was a questionnaire on demographics, the benefits of exercise and social support for exercise. Overall, both men and women agreed with five main statements regarding the benefits of exercise: that they can improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels, help to avoid disease, give more energy, help to relieve tension and to have a more positive outlook on life. There is no significant relationship between family support and physical activity participation. However, for social support, there is a significant relationship between friend support and physical activity participation. The most selected statements for social support for both men and women such as offer to exercise with them, complain about the time they spend for exercise, fun exercise, rewards and help to plan activities around their exercise. Physical activity participation for persons with abilities appears to have many benefits, and this knowledge should be shared not only among the disabled but also the non-disabled as it will help them to become better caregivers who will encourage and support the disabled in physical activities. For a deeper insight, further research with more variables is recommended.

Abstract

The purpose of this literature review is to review the scientific literature on cooperative learning research in physical education in Indonesia. Two databases (Scopus and Web of Science) were used to select articles containing information on cooperative learning in physical education. The search was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. After the exclusion criteria, only 7 articles were included in the category. The results show that the types of research used in cooperative learning research in Indonesia vary, namely; quantitative, mixed research (quantitative and qualitative), and development. On average in the study using questionnaires and interviews in data collection. Cooperative learning research in Indonesia is also divided into three groups, (i) cooperative learning models based on local wisdom and basic skills cards (FS), (ii) cooperative learning models of TGT, STAD, and Jigsaw types in sports and online learning, (iii) cooperative learning model in instilling self-confidence, cooperation and moral values. Several limitations inherent in the review have been noted, and it is necessary to carry out further studies of this globally with literature reviews or mapping studies (bibliometric and scientometric), and it is also necessary to do about the application of cooperative learning and its impact, because in today's society, elements of elements such as social relationships, dialogue, and respect, as well as physical activity and sport, are very important.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a change in the learning system from face-to-face to technology-based learning through online media. This study aims to determine the responsiveness of students and teachers in using Google Classroom media during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a mixed method research (quantitative and qualitative) using questionnaires and interviews as instruments. The subjects of this study were 89 students and 1 physical education teacher. The data analysis technique used is to calculate the percentage value of the final questionnaire score. Based on the results of the study, it was revealed that the use of Google Classroom media in physical education learning achieved a questionnaire score percentage of 93.69%. Meanwhile, the physical education teacher's response shows that the use of Google classroom in physical education learning during the current Covid-19 pandemic is very helpful in the online learning process and has been implemented properly. Even though the research results revealed a good response in using google classroom, this research has limitations, namely the research subject and only examines the use of one media, namely google classroom so that the research reach is limited. The results obtained are expected to be able to make a reference for further research, especially in the use of learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic in physical education learning so that learning outcomes are maximized.

Abstract

Background Problems: In recent decades, physical education teacher job satisfaction has become a topic of interest in academic literature. The important role of physical education teachers' job satisfaction in the quality of teaching and its potential to influence student achievement have attracted attention. Research Objectives: This study aims to comprehensively analyse the level of job satisfaction among physical education teachers through a systematic review of the existing literature. Methods: We selected articles containing information on this topic from two databases (Scopus and Web of Science). We conducted the search according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. After the exclusion criteria, only 26 articles were categorized, all published between 2014 and 2023. Findings/Results: This research reveals that physical education teachers’ job satisfaction has been investigated in 13 countries, with Turkey, the United States, and Greece being the main focus. Although the majority of physical education teachers expressed high levels of satisfaction, significant differences in satisfaction levels emerged between them. For example, in Slovakia and Poland, satisfaction levels were relatively low. The findings underline that administrative support, work-life balance, and economic considerations are key factors that influence physical education teachers’ job satisfaction. However, in this context, money and rewards, working conditions, and the availability of resources also play an important role in determining teacher satisfaction. Conclusion: The findings from this study highlight the need for a deeper understanding of the diverse factors impacting job satisfaction among physical education instructors. We can develop more effective policies and practices to improve teachers’ well-being and performance at both local and global levels by understanding these nuances. We suggest further investigations into job satisfaction among physical education teachers in the Asian region, particularly focusing on Southeast Asia. Additionally, exploring variables such as leadership, self-efficacy, school climate, and culture in future research can offer deeper insights into the determinants of job satisfaction.

The search was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. After exclusion criteria, only 25 articles were categorized. Demonstrated the positive impact of various plyometric exercises on volleyball play. The results showed that the benefits and types of plyometric exercises can increase strength, agility/speed in volleyball games. In-depth analysis of the technical and tactical aspects of volleyball games shows that jumping exercises on water, jumping exercises on sand, squat jumping exercises, and vertical jumping exercises can increase leg muscle strength so that it can increase the jump height of the players to improve the stroke, especially in the smash technique (attack) in volleyball games.

Abstract

This study uses scientometric analysis to comprehensively describe the descriptive parameters of publications about the relationship between sport and religion. Using ScientoPy, VOSviewer, and Biblioshiny software and datasets from two leading academic databases, Scopus and Web of Science, the current study can identify the most active scientific sources, keywords, and trending topics in sports and religion research. According to the findings, numerous types of research have been carried out on the correlation between sports and religion, and most of these papers have been published by scholars from the United States. The International Journal of the History of Sport and Sport in society has become the most active scientific journal. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the frequently utilized terms in the literature, explicitly "religion" and "sport." These keywords have protruded along with other terms that are gaining popularity in the study of sports and religion: "sports" and "muscular christianity." This information can be valuable to researchers and scholars and guide future research directions.
