Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) melalui penerapan media pembelajaran kartu pintar di kelas VIII-B SMP Negeri 16 Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 siswa kelas VIII-B. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes evaluasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa dari siklus ke siklus. Pada siklus I, keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran masih tergolong sedang. Namun, setelah dilakukan perbaikan strategi pada siklus II dan III, motivasi belajar siswa meningkat secara signifikan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya keaktifan siswa dalam diskusi kelompok, ketekunan dalam menyelesaikan tugas, dan partisipasi dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan nilai hasil belajar siswa secara bertahap di setiap siklus.

Abstract

This community service is specifically designed to provide character education reinforcement based on local wisdom at State Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Gorontalo. Through a systematic approach consisting of three main phases, namely conceptual preparation, structured implementation, and comprehensive evaluation. The results of the program show encouraging achievements in building a deep understanding of local values while actualizing them in everyday school life. Students not only show a real increase in cultural awareness, but also develop positive characters that are reflected in their behavior. The most prominent aspect is the development of a sense of responsibility towards the school environment and the surrounding community, as well as active participation in various cultural preservation initiatives. Another important finding is the formation of a more collaborative and mutually respectful learning environment among all school residents. Based on the results achieved, this service recommends several strategic steps for further development. First, the need to build closer partnerships between schools and various stakeholders including local governments, cultural communities, and universities. Second, the importance of developing a sustainable mentoring system to ensure deeper internalization of character values. Third, a more comprehensive monitoring and evaluation mechanism needs to be developed to measure the long-term impact of the program. This recommendation is expected to strengthen the role of schools as centers for sustainable local wisdom-based character development.ABSTRAKPengabdian masyarakat ini secara khusus dirancang untuk memberikan penguatan pendidikan karakter berbasis kearifan lokal di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 1 Gorontalo. Melalui pendekatan sistematis yang terdiri dari tiga fase utama yakni persiapan konseptual, implementasi terstruktur, dan evaluasi komprehensif. Hasil program menunjukkan pencapaian yang menggembirakan dalam membangun pemahaman mendalam tentang nilai-nilai lokal sekaligus mengaktualisasikannya dalam kehidupan sekolah sehari-hari. Peserta didik tidak hanya menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran budaya yang nyata, tetapi juga mengembangkan karakter positif yang tercermin dalam perilaku mereka. Aspek yang paling menonjol adalah perkembangan sikap tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan sekolah dan masyarakat sekitar, serta partisipasi aktif dalam berbagai inisiatif pelestarian budaya. Temuan penting lainnya adalah terbentuknya lingkungan belajar yang lebih kolaboratif dan saling menghargai di antara seluruh warga sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil yang dicapai, pengabdian ini merekomendasikan beberapa langkah strategis untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut. Pertama, perlunya membangun kemitraan yang lebih erat antara sekolah dengan berbagai pemangku kepentingan termasuk pemerintah daerah, komunitas budaya, dan perguruan tinggi. Kedua, pentingnya mengembangkan sistem pendampingan berkelanjutan untuk memastikan internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter yang lebih mendalam. Ketiga, perlu disusun mekanisme monitoring dan evaluasi yang lebih komprehensif untuk mengukur dampak jangka panjang program. Rekomendasi ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat peran sekolah sebagai pusat pengembangan karakter berbasis kearifan lokal yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Independent curriculum in PPKn learning at SMP Negeri 9 Gorontalo and identify what factors cause the implementation of the Independent curriculum to be not optimal. The Merdeka Curriculum is a form of educational transformation in Indonesia launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) as part of the Merdeka Learning program. This curriculum is designed to provide more flexibility to educational units, teachers, and students in the learning process. The goal is to create learning that is more relevant, in-depth, and in accordance with the needs of the times. The results of this study show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum has brought significant changes in the learning system, especially in the subject of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn). This curriculum emphasizes the flexibility of teachers in designing student-centered learning, with character strengthening, Pancasila values, and the application of contextual and interactive learning. Innovations such as the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) and a differentiated learning approach are considered to be able to increase student engagement and motivation. However, the implementation of this curriculum has not been running optimally in various educational units. Various obstacles are still faced, such as limited understanding and training of teachers, difficulties in preparing assessments and lesson plans, and limited facilities and resources, especially in remote areas. In addition, differences in students' readiness and abilities also affect the effectiveness of project-based learning. This research underscores the importance of intensive teacher training, equitable access to educational resources, and consistent mentoring as the main strategies in overcoming implementation challenges. Thus, the Independent Curriculum can be applied effectively and evenly, so as to truly create learning that is on the side of students.

Abstract

This study aims to find out students' reading interest in PPKn subjects at Junior High School 1 Gorontalo City, to find out the role of PPKn teachers in increasing students' reading interest in PPKn subjects at Junior High School 1 Gorontalo. The results of the study show that the role of PPKn teachers in increasing students' reading interest in PPKn subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Gorontalo, namely teachers play an active role in guiding students and role models in building a literacy culture in schools, especially students' interest in reading. The reading interest of students at SMP Negeri 1 Gorontalo is still finding many problems, especially in terms of the interest of the students themselves, because in this day and age everything is all modern, especially in terms of books they can access books not only through the library but also online. So most of them if they want to read, most of them are online, but some, most still have no interest in reading, especially since libraries have begun to be rare and can be counted, in one class there are only a few people, not up to 10 people.

Abstract

Lilis Sulastri Huko, 221421045, 2025. “Improving Students” Learning Interest Through the use of Audiovisual Media in Pancasila and Civics Education Program of Pancasila and Civics Education, Departement of Law and Society, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The principal supervisor is Dr. Rasid Yunus, S.Pd.,M.Pd., and the co-supervisor is Yuli Adhani, S.Pd., M.Pd. This study aims to enhance students’ learning interest through the use of audiovisual media in pancasila and civics education (PPKn) at the junior high school level. The research employed a classroom action research (CAR) Method, with Students of class VIII B as the research subjects. The findings reveal that the integration of audiovisual media, such as interactive educational videos, significantly increased students’ interest in learning. This improvement was evidenced by greater enthusiansm, attention, and active participation during the learning process, as well as a notable increase in the number of students demonstrating a high leve lof interest after the implementation of audiovisual tolos. Moreover, audiovisual media helped students better understand PPKn material and fostered a more engaging and enjoyable classroom environment. Therefore, incorporating audiovisual media in PPKn learning at SMP Negeri 3 Kabila is recommended as an effective strategy to enhance both students’ interest in learning and their academic achievement. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media audiovisual, seperti video pembelajaran interaktif secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Peningkatan ini terlihat dari antusiasme, perhatian, dan keterlibatan aktif siswa selama proses pembelajaran, serta adanya peningkatan jumlah siswa yang memiliki minat belajar tinggi setelah penggunaan media audiovisual Selain itu, penggunaan media audiovisual juga membantu siswa memahami materi PKn dengan lebih baik dan menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih menyenangkan dan interaktif Dengan demikian, integrasi media audiovisual dalam pembelajaran PKn di SMP Negeri 3 Kabila direkomendasikan sebagai strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan minat belajar dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of disciplinary character education through extracurricular activities such as Scouting and OSIS (Battalion) at SMK Negeri 1 Popayato. The research is motivated by the importance of holistic character development in students, especially discipline, which is fundamental to academic success and social life. Using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation, the study illustrates how extracurricular activities promote disciplined habits such as marching practice, school pickets, and annual camping events. The results show that character formation is achieved through routine training, the application of educational sanctions, and the assignment of structured responsibilities to students. Supporting factors include principal support, adequate facilities, and active roles of supervisors. Inhibiting factors involve a lack of student responsibility, peer influence, and budget constraints. In conclusion, extracurricular activities positively contribute to the development of student discipline when implemented consistently and guided by an educational approach oriented toward moral awareness and personal responsibility. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pendidikan karakter disiplin melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka dan OSIS (Batalyon) di SMK Negeri 1 Popayato. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pembentukan karakter peserta didik secara holistik, khususnya nilai kedisiplinan yang menjadi pondasi keberhasilan belajar dan kehidupan sosial. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini menggambarkan bentuk kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang mendorong pembiasaan disiplin seperti latihan baris-berbaris, piket sekolah, dan perkemahan tahunan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter disiplin dilakukan melalui latihan rutin, penerapan sanksi edukatif, serta pemberian tanggung jawab yang terukur kepada siswa. Faktor pendukung implementasi antara lain adalah dukungan kepala sekolah, fasilitas memadai, dan peran pembina yang aktif. Sementara itu, faktor penghambat mencakup rendahnya tanggung jawab siswa, pengaruh pertemanan, dan keterbatasan anggaran. Kesimpulannya, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki kontribusi positif terhadap pembentukan karakter disiplin siswa jika dilaksanakan secara konsisten, dengan pendekatan edukatif yang berorientasi pada kesadaran moral dan tanggung jawab.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the condition of school dropouts in Tenilo Sub-district, West City District, Gorontalo City; to identify the contributing factors; and to formulate efforts to address the issue. School dropout remains a serious problem in Indonesia’s education system, particularly in areas with low socio-economic conditions. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document studies involving dropout students, their parents, teachers, and school officials. The results reveal that the causes of school dropouts are not singular but rather the outcome of complex interactions among various social, economic, cultural, and psychological factors that directly or indirectly influence a child's decision to discontinue their education. Key contributing factors include family financial difficulties, lack of learning motivation, peer influence, social pressure, and inadequate parental supervision. Cultural factors and negative societal perceptions regarding the importance of education also exacerbate the problem. Recommended efforts to address this issue include increasing public awareness about the value of education, providing social assistance, strengthening the role of schools and teachers, and fostering collaboration among government, communities, and educational institutions to create a supportive environment that encourages children's continued participation in education. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi anak putus sekolah di Kelurahan Tenilo, Kecamatan Kota Barat, Kota Gorontalo; mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah; serta merumuskan upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut. Fenomena anak putus sekolah masih menjadi permasalahan serius dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia, terutama di daerah dengan tingkat sosial ekonomi yang rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap siswa yang putus sekolah, orang tua, guru, serta pihak sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama anak putus sekolah tidak bersifat tunggal, melainkan merupakan hasil dari interaksi kompleks berbagai faktor seperti kondisi ekonomi keluarga, kurangnya motivasi belajar, pergaulan bebas, tekanan lingkungan sosial, serta minimnya perhatian dan pengawasan dari orang tua. Selain itu, faktor budaya dan persepsi masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pendidikan turut memperburuk kondisi ini. Upaya penanggulangan yang dapat dilakukan meliputi peningkatan sosialisasi pentingnya pendidikan, pemberian bantuan sosial, penguatan peran sekolah dan guru, serta kolaborasi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan lembaga pendidikan dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung keberlanjutan pendidikan anak.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of elections from a supervisory perspective, focusing on the role of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in addressing money politics practices in Gorontalo City. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using data collection techniques such as interviews, documentation, and direct observation of monitoring and violation-handling processes. The results show that although Gorontalo City Bawaslu operates under a strong legal foundation—namely Law Number 7 of 2017 and Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perpu) Number 1 of 2022—its implementation still faces numerous challenges on the ground. Out of 11 reported cases of alleged money politics, only 7 were successfully registered, while the rest could not be pursued legally. Four of these were categorized as serious violations, involving administrative, ethical, and criminal offenses. The main obstacles faced by Bawaslu include low public participation in reporting, limited access to the reporting system, insufficient supervisory capacity at lower levels, and weak law enforcement. Nevertheless, Bawaslu has taken several improvement initiatives, such as the Anti-Money Politics Village program and the use of social media for participatory supervision. The study concludes that the performance of Gorontalo City Bawaslu in handling money politics remains suboptimal and calls for comprehensive reforms in terms of resources, transparency, and strengthened collaboration with the public and law enforcement institutions to ensure clean, fair, and democratic elections.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the implementation of the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) affects student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 16 Gorontalo, as well as to identify the challenges faced by teachers in utilizing the platform. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that although PMM offers various supporting features such as teaching materials, self-paced training, and diagnostic assessments, its utilization by teachers remains suboptimal. The main challenges include limited technological infrastructure, low digital literacy among teachers, and a lack of intensive training. As a result, the implementation of PMM has not had a significant impact on improving student learning outcomes. The study concludes that optimizing the use of PMM requires more targeted mentoring strategies, teacher capacity development, and strengthened infrastructure so that the platform can function effectively in supporting the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The Tobelo Dalam tribe actively represents an indigenous community in Indonesia, consistently maintaining biodiversity in various forest areas of Halmahera, North Maluku. The expansion of timber companies and the mining industry threatens the roaming area of the Tobelo Dalam tribe. Over time, some experienced a cultural shift from nomadic life, embracing modern values while maintaining their identity as an inland community that fully utilises forest products to meet their living needs. This study analyses the existence of the Tobelo Dalam tribe in the Tukur-Tukur hamlet, Dodaga village, East Halmahera and examines how their social transformation patterns shape a citizenship identity. This study employs a qualitative approach through a case study method. Collect data using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. We analysed the collected data using data reduction, presentation, and verification techniques. The research findings show that the Tobelo Dalam tribe in the Tukur-Tukur hamlet, an indigenous community that values the forest ecosystem, has undergone a shift in modern lifestyle due to government policies promoting modern living standards for the community, and internal encouragement from the tribe to leave the forest zone for settlements. The social transformation pattern of the Tobelo Dalam tribe in the Tukur-Tukur hamlet reveals three domains: political factors, cultural factors, and social factors, which are evident in aspects of religion, education, social behaviour, and economy. This study's findings offer stakeholders valuable insights to protect the sustainability of forests and indigenous communities on Halmahera Island from mining impacts.
