Abstract

This research starts from the thought of kiai leadership that develops salafiyah boarding school environment that tends to form an authoritarian leadership. So the pattern of leadership that occurs in Asy-Syafi'iyyah boarding school whether it has similarities with other boarding schools or has differences. The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership of kiai in Asy-Syafi'iyyah boarding school, authority, decision-making, succession system and regeneration. This research uses qualitative research with a Case Study approach. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observations, and document studies. Data analysis in the form of data unitization, categorization, and interpretation of data and a test data. The results of the study concluded that the pattern of kiai leadership in Asy-Shafi'iyyah boarding school, kiai led by using the leadership style of developers and missionaries, then the type of Democratic and charismatic leadership. The authority of kiai in pesantren is not absolute, he shares Authority and authority with other pesantren elites. Decision making he did use participatory decision making from all elements of pesantren and society. The system of succession and regeneration is carried out scientifically and with a long process, kiai prepares their children to become successors and prepares scientific, experiential and moral competencies for their future successors. Abstract

The motivation to learn is crucial for achieving optimal educational outcomes. The motivation to learn Arabic is uniquely relevant due to the prevalence of Islamic educational institutions offering it as part of their curriculum. This study aims to identify and analyze the role of teachers in increasing students' motivation to learn Arabic in schools. This research employs a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review (SLR) method. The data used are secondary data sourced from various online databases, including Google Scholar and accredited national and international journals. The data collection technique involves documentation. Data analysis is conducted through five stages: summarizing, synthesizing, comparing, contrasting, and critiquing the literature. The study identifies several key roles of teachers in boosting students' motivation to learn Arabic: educator, mentor, coach, advisor, leader, role model, and community member. Teachers play a crucial role in creating a supportive and motivating learning environment. Effective teachers use personalized instruction, motivational remarks, and technology to engage students. Mentors provide academic and emotional support, while coaches use active learning strategies. Advisors give constructive feedback, and leaders inspire and set positive examples. Role models influence students' attitudes and behaviors, and community members enrich the learning experience by integrating it with students' daily lives. These roles collectively contribute to a more motivated and engaged learning environment. Understanding the multifaceted roles of teachers can help develop more effective strategies to enhance students' motivation to learn Arabic, contributing significantly to educational practice in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tenaga administrasi sekolah/Madrasah (TAS/M) memerankan peran penting dalam sistem sekolah, peran penting ini sama hal nya dengan peran guru dalam proses mendidik. Selain betugas dalam pengelolaan yang berkenaan dengan hal administratif di sekolah, tenaga administrasi sekolah juga berperan aktif dalam memberikan pelayanan administrasi kepada seluruh pihak yang berkepentingan. Peran vital tenaga administrasi yang begitu penting dalam pengelolaan suatu sekolah sehingga pemerintah melalui Permendiknas Nomor 24 Tahun 2008 menetapkan standar tenaga administrasi sekolah. Standar ini mengatur tentang kualifikasi dan kompetensi minimal yang harus dipenuhi oleh seorang tenaga administrasi sekolah. Kompetensi yang dimaksud adalah kompetensi kepribadian, sosial, teknis dan manajerial. TAS/M harus terus mengembangkan kompetensi dan profesionalisme nya sebagai bagian tanggung jawab dalam menjalankan tugasnya. Proses pengembangan dan penguatan kompetensi ini harus terus dilakukan seperti halnya pengembangan kompetensi untuk guru yang dilakukan secara terus menerus. Self-Directed Learning (SDL) adalah satu pembelajaran yang mana pembelajar dapat terlibat dalam menentukan apa yang mereka pelajari. Hal tersebut jelas berbeda dengan konteks belajar sendiri dan mereka dapat lebih aktif dan leluasa dalam menentukan apa yang mau mereka capai. Melalui metode diharapkan berdampak positif pada proses pengembangan dan penguatan kompetensi tenaga admistrasi sekolah

Abstract

The focus of research is on teachers as managers in managing online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach, namely describing and revealing existing facts and then describing them descriptively with words or descriptions. The results of the study indicate that the application of management functions can minimize the impact of online learning in the village. The existence of innovative learning methods that are considered effective in teaching and learning activities. Troubleshooting the flow of communication between schools and parents. The research was conducted in a rural area, namely SDN Negla (Kertasari) Bandung Regency, West Java Province. What is new in this research is that it is carried out in rural areas where the majority of human resources have minimal technological knowledge.

Abstract

The Program Sekolah Penggerak (PSP) is a priority initiative launched by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud) to drive rapid school transformation and foster collaboration within the educational ecosystem at the regional level. Despite these efforts, 2,504 schools in the first cohort of the program were deemed unsuccessful after three years of receiving targeted support and funding. This study aims to assess the implementation of the PSP Batch 2, which has been operational for over two years in Cianjur Regency, Indonesia, through a retrospective analysis. The findings are critical for formulating policy recommendations to address the weaknesses identified in the implementation process. A descriptive qualitative case study approach was employed, utilizing snowball sampling for data collection and analysis. The results provide insights into (1) the chronology of PSP Batch 2’s implementation in Cianjur Regency, (2) policy violations and challenges, including the lack of supporting local policies and frequent changes in school leadership during ongoing mentorship, and (3) recommendations for future PSP implementations, offering three key alternatives: centralization of the program, enhanced inter-ministerial collaboration, and the development of region-specific policies. This study presents valuable guidance for policymakers in decentralized education systems and calls for further research in other regions to evaluate the PSP’s implementation mechanisms.

Abstract

Abstract: This study evaluates student satisfaction at Universitas Almuslim concerning the quality of higher education services using the Higher Education Performance (HEdPERF) model. The research aims to assess the impact of six HEdPERF dimensions, which are non-academic, academic, university reputation, access, program issues, and understanding, on student satisfaction levels. Employing a non-experimental, correlational approach, the study gathered cross-sectional data from 572 students using a structured questionnaire. Validity and reliability of the instrument were tested via Pearson’s correlation and Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis was conducted with non-parametric tests, including Chi-Square and Spearman’s correlation, to establish the relationships between perceived service quality and satisfaction. Results indicate a significant positive correlation between all six HEdPERF dimensions and student satisfaction, with stronger associations for dimensions such as university reputation, access, and program issues. The findings suggest that service quality directly influences student satisfaction, supporting HEdPERF as a suitable model for evaluating educational services in higher education. Consequently, enhancing these dimensions could bolster student satisfaction and improve institutional competitiveness. This study highlights the importance of tailored service strategies that address both academic and non-academic aspects, contributing to the broader discourse on quality assurance in higher education. Abstract

This research was conducted based on the fact that there is a school located in isolated area with high performance teacher. Teacher performance influenced by school environment, the way principal lead, work motivation, and incentive. The purpose of this research is generally carried out to determine the influence of principal leadership and school climate on teacher performance. Specifically, this research aims to describe the reason of these variables can affect teacher performance. The method of this research was a quantitative, which used quantitative descriptive method to describe the result. The data was collected by 26 teachers at SMP YPPK Santo Don Bosco Fak Fak. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and data validation as a review to see the validity of the data. The results of the study obtained data, and it’s indicated that (1) principal leadership has a significant role in improving teacher performance, (2) school climate has significant effect on teacher performance, and (3) principal leadership and work motivation have a synergistic effect on teacher performance at SMP YPPK Santo Don Bosco Fak Fak.

Abstract

The development of Indonesian education policy of teacher standard competence, changes in national curriculum, and new learning paradigm have become a difficult challenge for Indonesian teachers who must develop their abilities so fast. The difficult challenges is also witnessed by teachers in the state Elementary and Junior High Schools 2 under one roof of Sabira Island, a school at the outermost area of Jakarta, Indonesia. This research aims to design, implement, and report on the pedagogical competence enhance. A case study model descriptive type with a qualitative approach is utilized, and was conducted over 45 days. The result is; Developing a design of teacher is constructed as a workshop for on-the-job training; The workshop was held on November 2023 for 14 teachers based on the design formulated; The evaluation by the Kirkpatrick model shows that the workshop's aim is achieved. This result is crucial as a new model about how to improve the pedagogical competence of teachers. The implication is the educational policymakers must give a great attention to developing teachers’ pedagogical competence in the age of Merdeka Belajar. Considering the National Indonesian Education Assessment in 2023, we recommend the teachers’ training in other areas to develop Indonesian teacher competence.

Abstract

The regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture, Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Permendikbud) Number 53 of 2023 concerning higher education quality assurance standards as the 26th Chapter of the Merdeka Belajar policy, which was officially socialised on August 2023. The Policy is being promoted to encourage quality transformation in Indonesian higher education, which contains several complex reforms and still needs to be better understood by Indonesian higher education stakeholders. Policymakers and implementers in higher education have the potential to make mistakes in following up on this policy. This research aims to formulate a model for advanced socialisation of this Policy, implement it, and report the results. A qualitative, descriptive case study model was used in this research. Selected literature sources from the Scopus database were used to formulate a model of advanced socialisation. The socialisation model as a Webinar was implemented on 6th November 2023 for 838 participants consisting of higher education policymakers, lecturers, students, school principals, and teachers. The evaluation results show that the Webinar's objectives were achieved well, marked by increased participants' understanding. This research recommends continuing dissemination activities to expand and improve knowledge of these transformative policies. As the theoretical implication, this research promotes a new model of socialisation in educational Policy, namely collaborative academic socialisation in higher educational policy.
