Abstract

Agricultural land is still priority for Indonesian people, the majority of whom are farmers. Along with the times and technological advances, as well as rapidly increasing population growth, agricultural land began to experience a widespread decline. The area of agricultural land that has decreased is a result of the construction of various public facilities that support an area. The Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is experiencing land conversion from undeveloped land to built-up land due to the rapid development in the area. The purpose of this study is to determine changes in land use before and after the construction of the Mandalika Circuit and as a policy direction to increase agricultural land productivity. The research method uses GIS analysis for changes in land use and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to obtain agricultural policy directions. The results obtained are that it is known that there has been a change in land use in Kuta Village after the Designation of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone with the Mandalika Circuit Development, and increasing the construction of built-up land. The landuse changes in ricefields decreased by 25.77 hectares, plantations 113.98 hectares, farms decreased by 86.06 hectares, while other lands is increase of 516.8 hectares. Directions for agricultural policy obtained directions that there has been a determination of sustainable agricultural land in Central Lombok Regency besides that there is a need for the implementation of Sustainable Food Homes (RPL), the concept of agrosilvopastura agriculture, waste utilization and the need for the development of agriculture-based tourism.

Abstract

Ngemplak District is one of the sub-districts in Boyolali Regency and directly borders Surakarta City, which is the economic center of the Soloraya Region. This sub-district is dominated by rice farming which is almost cultivated in various villages. More than 90% of rice farming land is cultivated by the population. From year to year, agricultural land is increasingly experiencing a decrease in land area due to land conversion. Built-up land is expanding in inverse proportion to the area of rice farming land. This research activity aims to analyze the relationship between rice productivity and the condition of agricultural land in Ngemplak District. This research was analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation which was supported by spatial analysis with proof of image maps and map results of built and undeveloped land cover. The land cover map is overlaid from the 2009 land cover map to existing conditions and the results of surveys conducted by the research team. The results of this research show that there is no correlation between changes in land use and rice productivity results in Ngemplak District although there were decreasing in agricultural land recently in 10 years widely 177 hectares.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is one of the basic commodities and has high economic value. Chili contains capsaicin which gives spicy taste that suitable in various Indonesian food. The high demand of chilies means that this commodity often experiences high selling prices at certain times, especially during the rainy season. The demand that continues to be needed by the community creates great opportunity for chili farmers to continue providing chili on the market. As a plant that can grow well in tropical areas, including Indonesia, chili plants can grow well outside the rainy season. On the other hand, the vertisol soil type, which expands and contracts, requires strong chili plant roots. The rainy season causes plant roots to rot quickly due to waterlogged conditions and plants are easily attacked by pests and diseases. In anticipating failed chili harvest, farmers need planting strategy and selecting quality chili seeds, they can adapt to various environmental conditions. This research was carried out in Sukadana Village using Randomized Block Design field trial method by planting three varieties of chili to find out which variety is most adaptive to waterlogging conditions. The results of the research show that lokal varieties of chili are the most adaptive and resistant to waterlogging conditions.

Abstract

Perlu adanya tindak lanjut praktik pembuatan biochar limbah pertanian. Socialization of the Use of Rice Husk Waste as Raw Material for Making Biochar Abstract: The large amount of agricultural waste that is not utilized by farmers can cause environmental pollution. One of the agricultural wastes that is usually disposed of on agricultural land is rice husk waste. Rice husks are the skin covering the rice which is separated from the rice grains. This rice husk waste can be used as a soil amendment by turning it into biochar. Rice husk waste biochar can increase carbon and nitrogen content in the soil. Sukadana Village is one of the villages that has good agricultural potential, on the other hand, the community has not utilized its agricultural waste. Therefore, this service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing farmers' knowledge in using rice husk waste as raw material for making biochar. Service activities are carried out using educational methods and active socialization with discussions and sharing involving all service participants. From the community service activities carried out, it is known that the farmer groups 1.) Most of the members of the farmer groups cannot read and write; 2.) pretest and posttest activities need to be carried out in the form of discussions without any writing activities; 3.) Knowledge about low utilization of agricultural waste; 4) After this socialization, people understand more about managing agricultural waste, especially rice husks; 5.) There needs to be follow-up on the practice of making biochar from agricultural waste.

Abstract

Gili Matra is a small island in the northern part of Lombok Island that is vulnerable to climate change's impacts. Rising sea levels, coastline changes, abrasion, rising earth temperatures, and global warming consequences cause climate change. The pressure on the need for space to develop facilities and infrastructure to support tourism has resulted in a change in land use from green open land to built-up land. Based on these problems, this research aims to describe the dynamics and challenges in regulating land use in Gili Matra. The method used in this research is a descriptive, evaluative analysis using policy analysis and DPSIR (Drivers, Pressures, States, Impacts, Responses) analysis to facilitate systematic thinking in analyzing research objectives. The results of this study indicate that tourism development is a trigger for the development of space requirements in Gili Matra, which causes changes in land use. In addition, there needs to be more overlap in determining area functions and spatial planning, resulting in stronger implementation of spatial use control in Small Islands.
