Abstract

This study aims to examine the form of intersectionality experienced by female characters in the film 'Asmaa' by Amr M Salama. Therefore, the theory used to analyze data based on the problems found is the theory of intersectionality from the perspective of Kimberle Crenshaw. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The type of data used by researchers in this study is qualitative data in the form of screenshots of scenes from the film Asmaa and then analyzed verbally. Based on this analysis, the results of this study show that Asmaa, as the main character in the film, experiences three forms of intersectionality oppression, namely gender, health stigma, and social class in Egyptian patriarchal society.Keywords: intersectionality, patriarchy, HIV, film

Abstract

This research aims to explore the functions and meanings of kalam insya’ thalabi found in the verses of Surah Taha. The focus of the discussion is on identifying the functions, types, and meanings of insya’ thalabi, such as commands (amr), prohibitions (nahi), and questions (istifham). This study employs a qualitative research approach, utilizing a qualitative descriptive analysis method with a linguistic analysis framework. The primary source of data consists of verses from Surah Taha in the Qur'an containing insya’ thalabi. Data collection techniques include library research and textual analysis of Qur'anic verses. The data is analyzed through a balaghah lens to uncover the functions and meanings inherent in each form of kalam insya’ thalabi within Surah Taha.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze speech acts in the social context of the film Honeymoonish by Elie El Semaan using the theoretical framework of pragmatics according to John Austin. Speech acts are categorized into three types: locution, illocution, and perlocution. Through a qualitative approach, this research identifies how dialogues in the film reflect social interactions among characters and the meanings contained within them. Data is obtained through the analysis of key scenes that highlight verbal and non-verbal communication. The results of the study show that speech acts in this film not only function as communication tools but also as a medium to express emotions, conflicts, and relevant social values. Additionally, the study highlights the role of context in shaping the interpretation of speech acts, as well as the ways in which power dynamics and social hierarchies influence character interactions. By examining the intricacies of language use in Honeymoonish, this research underscores the importance of pragmatics in understanding the subtleties of human communication. These findings are expected to contribute to the study of pragmatics and film analysis, as well as enrich the understanding of social dynamics in the context of contemporary cinema.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the personality of the main character Hadi in the novel Al-Jahid by Al-Hasan Al-Bukhari using Abraham Maslow's theory. The novel Al-Jahid was chosen as the object of study because it depicts the journey of human life which is full of challenges, conflicts and struggles to meet life's needs. This is in accordance with Abraham Maslow's theory which discusses the hierarchy of human needs, starting from physiological needs to self-actualization. This research uses a descriptive method of content analysis, with data collection through library study techniques. The results of the analysis show that Hadi fulfills various levels of needs in Maslow's hierarchy, starting from basic needs such as security, to social needs in the form of affection and acceptance. At a higher level, Hadi's character stands out in the aspects of self-esteem and self-actualization, which are reflected in his intelligence, wisdom and responsibility towards life. This research provides insight into how Maslow's hierarchy of needs structure can be applied to understanding characters in literary works.  يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل شخصية البطل هادي في رواية "الجاحد" للحسن البخاري باستخدام نظرية أبراهام ماسلو. تم اختيار رواية "الجاحد" كموضوع للدراسة لأنها تصور رحلة الحياة البشرية المليئة بالتحديات والصراعات والكفاح من أجل تلبية احتياجات الحياة. وهذا يتوافق مع نظرية أبراهام ماسلو التي تناقش تسلسل الاحتياجات البشرية، بدءًا من الاحتياجات الفسيولوجية وصولًا إلى تحقيق الذات. يستخدم هذا البحث منهجًا وصفيًا لتحليل المحتوى، مع جمع البيانات من خلال دراسة المصادر المكتبية. وتظهر نتائج التحليل أن هادي يحقق مختلف مستويات الاحتياجات في تسلسل ماسلو، بدءًا من الاحتياجات الأساسية مثل الأمان، ثم الاحتياجات الاجتماعية مثل المودة والقبول. وعلى مستوى أعلى، تبرز شخصية هادي في جوانب تقدير الذات وتحقيق الذات، والتي تنعكس في ذكائه وحكمته ومسؤوليته تجاه الحياة. يوفر هذا البحث رؤية حول كيفية تطبيق تسلسل احتياجات ماسلو لفهم الشخصيات في الأعمال الأدبية. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepribadian tokoh utama Hadi dalam novel Al-Jahid karya Al-Hasan Al-Bukhari dengan menggunakan teori Abraham Maslow. Novel Al-Jahid dipilih sebagai objek kajian karena menggambarkan perjalanan hidup manusia yang penuh dengan tantangan, konflik, dan perjuangan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Hal ini sesuai dengan teori Abraham Maslow yang membahas hierarki kebutuhan manusia, mulai dari kebutuhan fisiologis hingga aktualisasi diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan analisis isi, serta pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Hadi memenuhi berbagai tingkat kebutuhan dalam hierarki Maslow, mulai dari kebutuhan dasar seperti keamanan, hingga kebutuhan sosial dalam bentuk kasih sayang dan penerimaan. Pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi, karakter Hadi menonjol dalam aspek penghargaan diri dan aktualisasi diri, yang tercermin dalam kecerdasan, kebijaksanaan, dan tanggung jawabnya terhadap kehidupan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana struktur hierarki kebutuhan Maslow dapat diterapkan dalam memahami karakter dalam karya sastra.

Abstract

Latar dalam karya sastra memiliki peran penting dalam membangun suasana, menghidupkan tokoh, serta merefleksikan kondisi sosial dan budaya yang melatarbelakangi cerita. Dalam penelitian ini, dalam novel Perempuan di Titik Nol karya Nawal El-Saadawi dan The Baghdad Clock karya Shahad Al-Rawi merupakan karya yang mengangkat konteks sosial dan sejarah yang berbeda, namun sama-sama kuat dalam menghadirkan latarnya. Penelitian ini kemudian bertujuan untuk membandingkan latar dalam kedua novel tersebut dengan pendekatan sastra bandingan yang berfokus pada latar tempat, latar waktu, dan latar sosial. Pada penelitian ini digunakan pendekatan analitis deskriptif dengan metode kualitatif menguraikan hasil analisis yang diperoleh dari kutipan data berupa narasi maupun dialog. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua novel menggunakan latar untuk memperkuat tema perjuangan perempuan di tengah penindasan struktural dan sosial, meskipun dalam konteks yang berbeda. Latar dalam Perempuan di Titik Nol menggambarkan kekerasan sistemik terhadap perempuan dalam struktur patriarki Mesir, sementara latar dalam The Baghdad Clock merefleksikan trauma kolektif akibat perang di Irak. Studi ini memberikan wawasan baru tentang bagaimana latar dapat menjadi elemen penting yang membentuk tema dan narasi dalam karya sastra dari berbagai budaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kepribadian para tokoh dalam film From the Ashes karya Khalid Fahad berdasarkan aspek fungsi jiwa, yang meliputi pikiran (thingking), perasaan (feeling), pendriaan (sensation), dan intuisi (intuition), serta aspek arketipe, yang meliputi Topeng (persona), bayangan (shadow), anima, dan animus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan jenis data kualitatif berupa penggalan dialog. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah film From the Ashes karya Khalid Fahad yang dirilis pada Januari 2024 dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra Carl Gustav Jung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi berbasis strategi simak dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 3 data terkait (pikiran) yang bertindak berdasarkan logika, 5 data terkait (perasaan) yamg merespons situasi dengan emosi, 2 data terkait (pendriaan) yang berpegang pada fakta konkret, 1 data terkait (intuisi) yang bertindak berdasarkan kemungkinan, 2 data pada (persona) yang menyesuaikan dengan ekspektasi sosial, 2 data terkait (shadow) yang menggambarkan sisi gelap yang tersembunyi, 1 data (anima) menunjukkan unsur feminin dalam diri pria, dan 1 data (animus) menunjukkan unsur maskulin dalam diri wanita. Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the types of code switching and code mixing as well as the factors that cause code switching and code mixing in Ushul Fiqh Learning at Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School Ibadurrohman Baleendah. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, data collected through listening and recording techniques on data sourced from recordings of the learning process of Ushul Fiqh learning at Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah Islamic Booarding School Ibadurrohman Baleendah. Data in the form of conversations between teachers and students in learning Ushul Fiqh at Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School Ibadurrohman Baleendah. The results of this study indicate that code switching contained in Ushul Fiqh learning at Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah Ibadurrohman Islamic Boarding School Baleendah is external code switching. Code switching is in the form of switching from Arabic to Indonesian or from Indonesian to Arabic. The main cause of code switching is the speaker's desire to explain the material in a way that is easier for students to understand, and so that interlocutors who are familiar with the term can understand. While the code mix contained in Ushul Fiqh learning at Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah Ibadurrohman Islamic Boarding School Baleendah is code mixing outer. In the form of Arabic mixed with Indonesian or vice versa Indonesian mixed with Arabic. The factor that causes this code mix is because of the speaker’s habits in daily communication.

Abstract

This research contains an analysis of tasybih in the novel Arsis by Ahmed Al-hamdan. In this novel, there is a language style with meanings and various redactions that are still vague if not understood with the science of bayan. The purpose of this research is to determine the types and objectives of tasybih based on the bayan science approach. Qualitative description is the method used in this study. This research includes library research-based research  that uses the novel Arsis by Ahmed Al-Hamdan as a data source. And sentences that contain tasybih in the novel as a type of data. Data provision using the technique of watching and recording. The data will be studied, then marked and recorded, and then analyzed with the analysis of the science of bayan. The result of this research is that the novel Arsis by Ahmed Al-Hamdan has tasybih mursal, tasybih mufashshal, tasybih mujmal, and tasybih baligh. Meanwhile, tasybih mu'akkad is not found in the novel. The purpose of tasyb³h contained in the novel only includes taqriru halil musyabbah, baynu halil musyabbah, baynu imknil musyabbah, baynu miqdri hlil musyabbah, and taqb³hul musyabbah. While tazyinul musyabbah is not found in the novel. This research strengthens the theory and description of the understanding of tasyb³h based on the analysis of the novel Arsis by Ahmed Al-Hamdan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe code-switching and code-mixing in the Arabic movie Honeymoonish by Elie El Semaan by using a qualitative approach and applying analytical descriptive method. The formal object of this research is code switching and code mixing, while the material object is the Arabic movie Honeymoonish. The results and discussion in this study show that all code-switching and code-mixing in this movie belong to the external type because of the switching and insertion of English into the original language, namely Arabic. The form of code mixing found is the form of words and phrases. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that overall there are 31 data in the form of code switching and external code mixing. There are 3 data of external code switching, 15 data of external code mixing at word level, and 7 data of external code mixing at phrase level. Abstract

This research examines the role of ulama in education in three salafiyah Islamic boarding schools in Madura: Al-Is'af, Assadad, and Al-Usymuni. The main objective of this research is to analyze the works of ulama that are still used as the main literature in these pesantrens and to investigate how salafiyah pesantrens maintain the quality of traditional religious education while adopting the modern classical education system. The methodology used includes exploration to identify and inventory the works of scholars, as well as content analysis to reveal important information such as author, field of study, and book title. The study found that although salafiyah pesantren have incorporated non-yellow literature into their curriculum, they still maintain a focus on deep religious understanding (tafaqquh fiddin) through the teaching of classical books. The works of ulama are still the main reference in pesantren education, proving the important role of ulama in maintaining the Islamic scientific tradition in Indonesia.
