Abstract

Study This analyze problem biology in class X science book based on Anderson's revised Bloom's Taxonomy and skills communication students. Challenges learning the 21st century demands development think critical and communication, but majority question in book text Still focuses on Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS). Research aiming evaluate conformity question with dimensions cognitive Bloom's Taxonomy and identifying support to skills communication. Research This use approach quantitative descriptive with analyze question in book text based on LOTS and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) categories, as well as supporting elements? communication scientific. Research result show that 66.32% of the questions in virus chapter and 72.29% of questions in chapter diversity creature life is at in LOTS category, with domination level cognitive remembering (C1) and understanding (C2). The proportion of HOTS, such as analysis (C4) and creation (C6), very low, indicating limitations in facilitate think critical. Support to skills communication is also minimal, limited to discussion simple without strengthening presentation or debate. Study This highlight the need improvement amount question HOTS based and enrichment element communication in book text For support learning holistic. Findings This give implications important for development more teaching materials balanced and relevant with demands Independent Curriculum. Abstract

Scientific literacy is a crucial skill in modern education. However, the limited availability of effective learning media remains one of the main factors contributing to the low level of scientific literacy among students in Indonesia. This study aims to develop a scientific literacy-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) as a learning medium. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 3D model, which consists of Define, Design, and Develop stages. Data were collected and analyzed through interviews, validation sheets completed by material experts  and media experts, readability assessments conducted by a biology teacher and students, and response questionnaires administered to fifteen 10th-grade students at MAN 1 Bandung. The data were interpreted using a Likert scale. The results indicated that the LKPD received a validation score of 72% (valid) from the material expert and 92% (highly valid) from the media expert. The readability test produced scores of 81.2% (easy to understand) from the teacher and 87.3% of students. Student responses were also highly positive, with an average score of 86.6%. Based on these findings, the developed LKPD is feasible for classroom use and engage students in practicing scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Indonesian students’ scientific literacy remains relatively low, as indicated by PISA results, which placed Indonesia among the bottom 10 countries, and AKMI data shows that 51% of madrasah students are at the "basic" level. This study aims to develop scientific literacy-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on classifying living organisms for learning. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 3D model, which includes the Define, Design, and Develop stages. The research subjects included material and media expert validators, a class X biology teacher, and 25 class X students at MAN 1 Bandung. The instruments used were validation sheets, readability questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative and quantitative approaches with the help of a Likert scale. The results showed that the developed LKPD is feasible for use, with material expert validation at 85.556% (highly valid), media expert validation at 72.25% (valid), teacher readability at 80.80% (easy to understand), student readability at 85.35% (easy to understand), and student responses at 86% (highly positive). Therefore, the scientific literacy-based LKPD on the classification of living organisms is suitable for use and can serve as effective teaching material to support the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on scientific literacy on environmental pollution material for grade X students of Senior High School. The research method employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing a 3D model, conducted at MAN 1 in Bandung City. The instruments used include interview sheets, validation sheets, readability sheets, student response questionnaires, and student worksheets. The validation results indicate that LKPD falls into the 'valid to very valid' category, with a media expert score of 71.25% and a material expert score of 81.33%. The readability test results were 79% and 85%, respectively, and the student response was 86.4%. The average value of the limited trial reached 91. It can be concluded that LKPD, based on scientific literacy regarding environmental pollution and materials, is feasible and effective in supporting biology learning through scientific literacy. Biology teachers can apply the practical implications of this study to enhance the effectiveness of learning and serve as a reference in developing LKPD on other topics related to environmental issues.

Abstract

Abstract

Scientific literacy is recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of the 16 essential skills for the 21st century. However, the scientific literacy of Indonesian students remains relatively low based on PISA results. This study aims to examine the enhancement of students' scientific literacy through implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on socio-scientific issues (SSI) on ecosystem learning. This research used a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted off all 7th grade in the academic year 2024/2025, totaling 108 students. Two classes were selected as samples: 28 students in the experimental class and 26 students in the control class. Data collection instruments include tests, observation, and questionnaire. The data were analyzed using N-Gain to measure improvement and inferential statistics to test significance. These findings suggest that Problem Based Learning (PBL) based on socio-scientific issues (SSI) effectively enhances students' scientific literacy. This research can be an alternative strategy, and reference for teachers and schools in implementing innovative learning that supports scientific literacy development.

Abstract

As part of community empowerment efforts and the promotion of environmental literacy among Islamic boarding school students (santri), this community service activity aimed to provide training on the production of ecoenzymes from domestic waste as an environmentally friendly and economically valuable waste management solution. The training was conducted in the form of an integrated workshop that included hands-on practice in making ecoenzymes, producing eco-friendly soap, product packaging, and digital marketing training. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in utilizing waste into useful products with entrepreneurial potential. This was measured by indicators such as the ability to explain the concept and steps of product making, as well as the ability to practice them—evaluated through direct Q&A with participants after the training. This initiative marked the beginning of building a self-sufficient, productive, and environmentally conscious pesantren ecosystem.
