Abstract

Abstrak: Pantai Pink memiliki hamparan pasir putih lembut yang berwarna pink diakibatkan pecahan terumbu karang yang berwarna merah bercampur dengan pasir yang berwarna putih. Tujuan program PKM ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan dan pelatihan bahasa Inggris untuk para penjual di Pantai Pink desa Sekaroh kecamatan Jorowaru kabupaten Lombok Barat provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat yang mengalami kesulitan ketika berkomunikasi dengan pengunjung asing yang tidak bisa berbicara dalam bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil program PKM menunjukan bahwa pendampingan dan pelatihan berdampak positif untuk para penjual yang ada di Pantai Pink lebih khususnya berkaitan dengan ungkapan-ungkapan bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk transaksi jual beli.Abstract:  Pink beach has soft white sand that is pink in color due to red coral fragments mixed with white sand. The purpose of this community service program is to provide assistance and English language training for sellers at Pink Beach, Sekaroh village, Jorowaru sub-district, West Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara province, who have difficulty communicating with foreign visitors who cannot speak Indonesian. The method used is training and mentoring. The results of the community service program show that mentoring and training have a positive impact on sellers on Pink Beach, more specifically with regard to English expressions used for buying and selling transactions.

Abstract

The study aimed at exploring students’ perception of implementing problem-based learning with blended learning in EFL academic reading. Quantitative and qualitative data were gained by applying a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The study occurred at the English Education Program at Muhammadiyah University of Mataram. The respondents involved in this research were thirty-four English foreign language (EFL) students who are joining an academic reading course. The result showed that students have positive perceptions of the use of problem-based learning with blended learning in teaching EFL academic reading. At the same time, the respondents found barriers preventing them from utilizing problem-based learning in teaching EFL academic reading such as requiring sufficient time to complete a topic or find out the solution to a problem, needing additional fees to buy internet quota, and needing prior knowledge in applying problem-based learning. Finally, the finding gained from two types of instruments recommended that PBL with blended learning can be applied in EFL academic reading.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenjualan souvenir dan kerajinan yang bernilai tinggi seharusnya dapat dimanfaatkan oleh para pedagang asongan untuk memperoleh keutungan yang lebih baik. Kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang baik sangat penting bagi para pedagang asongan untuk bertransaksi dan memberikan penjelasan produk yang mereka jual. Tingkat kepercayaan para wisatawan akan lebih tinggi apabila para pedagang asongan mampu bertransaksi dan memberikan penjelasan saat menjual produk. Kendala bahasa yang dihadapai oleh para pedagang asongan belum  banyak mendapat perhatian dari pemerintah daerah maupun stakeholder. Kondisi tersebut menjadikan para pedagang asongan tidak maksimal memasarkan produk  mereka  kepada wisatwan mancanegara. Oleh karena itu  tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan kepada pedagang asongan di kawasan pantai Senggigi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan percakapan bahasa Inggris. Mitra dari pelatihan ini adalah pedagang asongan yang berjualan di kawasan wisata pantai Sengigi. Para pedagang asongan ini menjual berbagai souvenir, kaos dan pernak-pernik perhiasan. Metode dalam pelatihan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan menggunakan bahasa Inggris praktis dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris ketika melakukan transaksi jual beli dengan pembeli . Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan percakapan bahasa Inggris para pedagang asongan mengalami peningkatan  baik dari aspek kosakata, tata bahasa, pengucapan , kelancaran dan akurasi. Kata kunci: pedagang asongan; kawasan wisata; senggigi ABSTRACTSales of high-value souvenirs and crafts should give benefit for hawkers to get better profits. Good English skills are very important for hawkers to transact and provide explanations of the products they sell. The level of trust of tourists will be higher if the hawkers are able to transact and provide explanations when selling products. The language barrier faced by hawkers has not received much attention from local governments and stakeholders. This condition makes the hawkers do not optimally market their products to foreign tourists. Therefore the purpose of this activity is to provide training to hawkers in the Senggigi beach area to improve English conversation skills. The partners of this training are hawkers who sell in the Senggigi beach tourism area. These hawkers sell various souvenirs, t-shirts and jewelery trinkets. The training method is carried out using practical English training methods when making buying and selling transactions with buyers. The results of this empowerment activity show that the English conversation skills of the hawkers have increased both in terms of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency and accuracy. Keywords: hawkers; tourism areas; senggigi

Abstract

Moodle e-learning is a suitable solution for learning in the technology era. The research purpose was to present a comprehensive literature review on Moodle e-learning in teaching and learning. The Articles were gained via Publish or Perish Software. The study analyzed 29 articles from 2011 to 2021 from the Scopus database. The Software of Mendeley was utilized to arrange the articles. The Software of Vosviewer is applied to review and identify the articles. The study showed the two clusters of group words that appear most often. The first cluster consisted of six items (application, e-learning, effective, elementary school, Moodle, and study) and the second cluster consisted of three items words (design, development, and Moodle). This cluster represents the research streams of Moodle e-learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu anak-anak panti asuhan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan  bahasa inggris. Pengabdian ini dilakukan bagi anak-anak Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah dengan jumlah peserta 14 orang. Metode dalam pelatihan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan : (1) tahap pengamatan, (2) tahap pengajaran, dan  (3) tahap evaluasi.  Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan  bahasa Inggris anak-anak Panti Asuhan mengalami peningkatan  baik dari aspek kosakata, tata bahasa, pengucapan , kelancaran dan akurasi. Kata kunci: pendampingan; kemampuan bahasa inggris; panti asuhan. ABSTRACTThis community service aims to help orphanage children in developing English language skills. This community service was conducted for the children of Muhammadiyah orphanage with a total of 14 participants. The method in the training was carried out using the training method. Community service activities are carried out in three stages: (1) observation stage, (2) teaching stage, and (3) evaluation stage.  The results of this service show that the English language skills of the orphanage children have improved in terms of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency and accuracy. Keywords: mentoring; english language skills; orphanage.

Abstract

The type of research used is meta-analysis research aimed at determining the level of effectiveness or quality of mind mapping in vocabulary learning, including at elementary, middle, high school, and college levels. This quality was examined using several previous research results that collected data with inclusion and exclusion conditions from the Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Scopus databases. The search results found up to 51 dates that met the requirements with the number of students (N), F-counts, t-counts, and r-counts. The results of data analysis obtained by the simulation software JASP showed that the impact on learning media vocabulary based on mind mapping is 73% significant, which included the High category. The moderator variable is the lowest level of education, the high impact of using mind mapping, namely the college level, with an estimate of the effect of 0.569, Based on the number of participants, the application of mind mapping has more influence on participants totaling more than 30 students with an estimate of 0.928 (strong category), while the lowest effect is seen from the number of participants who collected more than 91 students with an estimate of 0.529, meaning that this mind mapping learning model is most appropriate to be applied in high school rows with more than 30 participants in order to maximize student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Kebersihan lingkungan merupakan tanggung jawab setiap warga masyarakat. Lingkungan yang sehat mencerminkan kualitas hidup masyarakat dan menjamin terjaganya kesehatan setiap individu. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di Desa Teniga, Kecamatan Tanjung, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Salah satu masalah yang perlu diperhatikan di daerah ini adalah pencemaran lingkungan, yaitu sampah organik dan anorganik berupa limbah rumah tangga yang dapat merusak kebersihan lingkungan. Adapun tujuan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk  meningkatkan  kepedulian  masyarakat Desa teniga terhadap pentingnya kebersihan dan kesehatan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu dengan pelaksanaan sosialisasi perihal pemilahan sampah yang tepat. Aksi lapangan diataranya dengan kegiatan pembagian plastik sampah sebagai wadah sementara yang di bagikam di rumah rumah masyarakat Desa Teniga, memonitoring tiga kali dalam satu minggu guna mengetahui masyarat telah tepat dalam pemilahan sampah. Pemilahan sampah organik dan Anorganik memanfaatkan sampah menjadi bahan kreasi atau kerajinan tangan untuk sampah anorganik dan Pembuatan gumelang  untuk proses pembuatan kompos bagi sampah organik. Mengajak masyarakat gotong royong bersama membersihkan lingkungan di sekitar desa teniga. Kegiatan pengabdian dapat terlaksana dengan baik atas dukungan antusias dan kontribusi dari masyarakat di Desa Teniga. Kata kunci: Kesadaran, Masyarakat, Bersih

Abstract

Abstrak: Desa teniga merupakan salah satu dari 7 desa yang berada di Dataran tinggi kecematan Tanjung kabupaten Lombok Utara Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat secara geografis desa Teniga berada di ketinggian 400 m di atas permukaan Laut,  Wilayahnya memiliki Luas 1440 H dan jumlah penduduk 2933 jiwa yang dimana penduduk tersebar di 9 Dusun. di Desa Teniga bermayoritas Penduduk beragama Islam dan suku asli Sasak, Desa Teniga Memiliki potensi ekonomi disektor perkebunan dan sektor Pariwisata. Pariwisata di Indonesia merupakan salah satu sektor, yang memi1iki potensi yang layak untuk dikembangkan dan dikelolaa secara maksimal. Salah satu tempat wisata yang dapat di kembangkan sebagai desa wisata yang ada di desa teniga yaitu taman pecatu. Adapun kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat mengembangkan potensi wisata yang berada di Desa Teniga  salah satunya menjadikan Taman pecatu sebagai salah satu destinasi wisata  yang diperuntukkan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian desa. Metode yang digunakan ialah melalui penataan Taman pecatu sebagai desa wisata dengan beberapa tahapan didalamnya. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat membuat masyarakat di desa Teniga sadar akan besarnya potensi wisata yang dimiliki sehingga dapat terus melanjutkan pengembangan agar ke depannya dapat menarik minat wisatawan dalam jumlah besar berkunjung ke desa Teniga.Abstract:  Abstract: teniga Village is one of 7 villages located in the Highlands of Tanjung kecematan, North Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara province geographically Teniga village is located at an altitude of 400 m above sea level, its area has an area of 1440 H and a population of 2933 people where the population is spread over 9 Hamlets. in Teniga village with a majority population of Muslims and Indigenous Sasak, Teniga village has economic potential in the plantation sector and the tourism sector. One of the tourist attractions that can be developed as a tourist village in teniga village is pecatu Park. The service activity aims to help the community develop tourism potential in Teniga Village, one of which is to make pecatu Park as one of the tourist destinations intended to improve the village economy. The method used is through the arrangement of pecatu Park as a tourist village with several stages in it. With this service activity, it is hoped that it can make the community in Teniga village aware of the amount of tourism potential that is owned so that it can continue to develop so that in the future it can attract large numbers of toaurists visiting Teniga village.

Abstract

Abstrak: Program pendampingan dan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas khatib, imam, dan khotib Jum'at di PCM Batuyang melalui pendekatan yang komprehensif dan berkelanjutan. Metode pelaksanaannya meliputi berbagai strategi seperti ceramah, diskusi kelompok, praktik langsung, dan sesi khusus penggunaan teknologi dalam dakwah dan komunikasi. Program ini berlangsung selama dua hari, dengan materi yang mencakup urgensi publik di era kontemporer, fikih Jumat, syarat-syarat khatib, retorika dakwah, public speaking, praktik mendesain khutbah dan imam, ritme pembacaan Alquran. Hasil program menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti keterbatasan waktu, perbedaan kapasitas peserta, dan kesenjangan digital, strategi adaptif dan solusi kreatif yang diterapkan mampu mengatasi hambatan tersebut. Program ini efektif dalam mencapai tujuannya dan memberikan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat. Keberhasilan ini menegaskan bahwa dengan perencanaan yang matang dan implementasi yang fleksibel, program pelatihan keagamaan dapat memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi peserta dan masyarakat. Model ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam pelaksanaan program serupa di masa yang akan datang untuk meningkatkan kualitas khotbah dan pelayanan keagamaan di berbagai komunitas.Abstract:  This mentoring and training program aims to increase the capacity of preachers, imams, and Friday Khotibs in PCM Batuyang through a comprehensive and sustainable approach. The implementation method includes various strategies such as lectures, group discussions, hands-on practice, and special sessions on the use of technology in da'wah and communication. The program lasted for two days, with materials covering the urgency of the public in the contemporary era, Friday fiqh, the requirements of khatib, the rhetoric of da'wah, the basics of public speaking, the practice of designing khutbahs and Imams, the rhythm of Qur'anic recitation. The program results show that despite challenges such as time constraints, disparity in participant capacity, and the digital divide, the adaptive strategies and creative solutions applied were able to overcome these obstacles. The program is effective in achieving its goals and provides a sustainable positive impact on the community. This success confirms that with careful planning and flexible implementation, religious training programs can benefit participants and the community significantly. This model is expected to be used as a reference in the implementation of similar programs in the future to improve the quality of sermons and religious services in various communities.

Abstract

Sociolinguistics can help people better understand the use of English in specific social environments. Still, there have been limited studies on the crucial aspects of teaching and learning Sociolinguistics to gain optimum learning outcomes. This present research aims to analyse models of EFL Sociolinguistics materials based on project-based learning required by students and lecturers. A quantitative method was applied in this study, employing a questionnaire and structured interview to collect data from 57 students and three instructors of the English Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram. The results revealed that students and lectures required teaching materials with clear objectives embodied in 11 topics, from Language Variations to Language and Ideology completed with evaluations after each topic, exercises for individuals or groups, and project-based learning, which can be employed in teaching EFL Sociolinguistics. Therefore, designing a model of teaching materials for EFL Sociolinguistics based on Project-based learning is necessary to load these findings. The findings of this study are useful for educators and stakeholders who want to design EFL Sociolinguistics teaching materials. This study has the potential to bridge the gap by providing knowledge about the needs of students and educators as well as recommendations for follow-up in designing EFL Sociolinguistics teaching materials.
