Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe and address the management and support systems of guidance services at SD GMIT 33 Moru 1. Guidance services in elementary schools play an important role in helping students overcome learning, social, and emotional problems. However, the implementation often faces obstacles such as limited resources, lack of teacher training, and suboptimal coordination among related parties. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the guidance management at SD GMIT 33 Moru 1 is still simple and not yet systematically structured. Support systems such as the involvement of classroom teachers, school principals, and parents have begun to function but are not yet maximized. Improvement efforts are directed toward enhancing teacher competence in providing guidance services, strengthening coordination among school stakeholders, and developing well-planned guidance programs. With proper management and systemic support, school guidance services can operate more effectively and positively contribute to students' holistic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of career awareness guidance in Grade V at SD Negeri 27 Mebung, Alor Tengah Utara District, Alor Regency. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation and interviews. The findings show that the implementation of career guidance services is integrated into thematic learning through activities such as storytelling about professions, workplace visits, and role-play. Teachers play an active role as facilitators who help students recognize their interests and potential, although there are still limitations in teachers’ understanding of career counseling approaches for young children. Evaluation is carried out through observation, interviews, and the use of interest exploration instruments, accompanied by appreciation for the talents and interests displayed by students. Therefore, the integration of career guidance into the basic curriculum needs to be strengthened through teacher training and collaboration among schools, parents, and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the importance of appropriate guidance for gifted and talented children in optimizing their overall development potential. Children with exceptional intelligence and talent have special needs that cannot always be met through a general educational approach. Through a literature review of various theories and research findings since 2015, this article explores the characteristics of gifted and talented children, the challenges they face, and effective guidance strategies. Studies show that gifted children are vulnerable to emotional, social, and academic problems if they do not receive adequate support. Therefore, guidance and counseling services play a crucial role in helping them adjust, manage their emotions, and optimally develop their potential. This research recommends the development of individualized, collaborative, and needs-based guidance programs for gifted and talented students. With the right approach, intelligent and gifted children can grow into high-achieving individuals with balanced personalities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the guidance methods used by teachers to overcome learning difficulties in communication, reading, writing, arithmetic, and social-emotional challenges at SD GMIT 33 MORU 1. Appropriate guidance is essential to help students develop their academic, social, and emotional potential optimally. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques of in-depth interviews with classroom teachers as key informants. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted in several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that students at SD GMIT 33 MORU 1 experience difficulties in communication, reading, writing, arithmetic, and social-emotional development during the learning process, prompting teachers to utilise objects in their surroundings as learning media. The difficulties mentioned above are influenced by two factors, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors include mild brain disorders that cause mental and emotional instability in students. External factors include genes, negative experiences in the past, an unsupportive living environment, family pressure, and a lack of support and special attention from parents. In overcoming learning disabilities, teachers use a personalised, empathetic approach between teachers, students, and parents. However, despite this, the results are not yet optimal due to several limitations faced by teachers, such as limited specialised programmes and professional teaching staff. However, the teachers' dedication to education remains unwavering despite these limitations, and they continue to motivate and encourage students when they become bored or reluctant to participate in lessons. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that structured, communicative, and continuous guidance is crucial in helping students with learning disabilities achieve optimal development in line with their needs and abilities.
