Abstract

Character education plays a crucial role in shaping the personality of students, particularly at the elementary education level. This study aims to explore the implementation of a character-based curriculum at SDIT KAUTSAR ILMI, which integrates Islamic values in both academic learning and extracurricular activities. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design was used, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection methods. The findings show that integrating Islamic values across various subjects and extracurricular activities at SDIT KAUTSAR ILMI positively impacts the development of students' character, focusing on honesty, discipline, responsibility, and empathy. However, challenges such as time limitations, resource constraints, and a lack of teacher training were identified. In conclusion, while the character-based curriculum at SDIT KAUTSAR ILMI has significantly contributed to students' development, improvements in teacher training and resource availability are necessary to optimize its implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison between the content standards of Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (SDIT) and public elementary schools in Indonesia. This research employs a literature review method by collecting and reviewing various sources such as books, government regulations, curriculum documents, and nationally and internationally accredited journal articles. The findings indicate that the content standards of public schools are structured based on the Merdeka Curriculum, which focuses on strengthening academic competencies, numeracy literacy, digital literacy, and the development of the Pancasila Student Profile. Meanwhile, SDIT implements the national curriculum integrated with distinctive Islamic subjects such as Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Ethics and Faith), Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Al-Qur'an and Hadith, Sirah Nabawiyah (Prophetic Biography), as well as the reinforcement of Islamic character education. These differences affect the subject structure, basic competencies, time allocation, and learning outcomes. SDIT holds advantages in fostering students' spiritual values and religious character, while public schools excel in standardized national achievements and readiness to face the global challenges of the 21st century. This study recommends the development of an integrated curriculum through collaboration between the government and Islamic educational institutions to achieve equitable, inclusive, and adaptive primary education that responds to the needs of a multicultural society and the advancement of knowledge in the digital era.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of content standards in the Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) Multazam Lunang, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. Through literature review and observation, this study highlights how SDIT Multazam integrates Islamic values into the national curriculum, including compulsory subjects, local content, and extracurricular activities. The results indicate that this school has successfully adapted the national content standards with the uniqueness of Integrated Islam, creating a holistic learning environment characterized by Islamic values. These findings are in line with studies on other SDITs which show that the integrated curriculum combines the national curriculum and religious education through full day school, the internalization of Islamic values in general subjects, as well as consistent local and extracurricular programs, resulting in a humanistic, holistic, and authentic learning process.
