Abstract

As a country with a significant water area and abundant marine biodiversity, Indonesia has excellent potential in the fisheries industry, especially in providing fresh fish, a staple food for the community. The Muara Baru Modern Fish Market in North Jakarta is designed to meet this need by offering various types of fresh fish in a clean, hygienic, and modern environment. This study aims to analyze consumer satisfaction with the marketing of fresh fish in this market. Using 13 variables, including service reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, tangibility, performance, features, durability, product reliability, aesthetics, perceived quality, price, and location, this study had 100 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and the results showed a consumer satisfaction level of 78.75%, categorized as "satisfied." The main factor influencing satisfaction is the quality of fresh fish in this market, which is very good, while the cleanliness and appearance of the seller still need improvement

Abstract

The high price of fish meal is also a reason for alternatives and better protein sources. This research aims to substitute fish meal with maggot meal in feed for snakehead fish's growth rate and survival. The method used in this research is the experimental method of Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of five treatments and three replications. The treatments used were (A) without the use of maggot flour (control), (B) 15% maggot flour substitution, (C) 30% maggot flour substitution, (D) 45% maggot flour substitution, (E) 60% maggot flour substitution, which was maintained for 50 days. The test fish used were snakehead fish with a 9-10 cm length and weighing 7-9 g. The container used is an aquarium with dimensions of 40x26x28 cm3 or a water volume of 15 L, in which five snakehead fish are placed in each aquarium. The amount of feed given is 5% of the fish biomass. The results obtained during the research showed that treatment E with the substitution of fishmeal for maggot meal at 60% of the feed resulted in the highest absolute length growth of 4.0 cm, the highest specific growth rate of 2.54%, and survival of 87%.

Abstract

This study aims to compile socio-economic mapping and analyze socio-economic factors that influence tilapia farmer communities. The research was conducted from January 2023 to March 2023 in Lengkong Kulon Village, Sindangwangi District, Majalengka Regency. The method used is the survey method. Sampling using the purposive sampling technique was analyzed with descriptive qualitative. The results of the mapping are grouped into two aspects, namely social conditions and economic conditions. The social condition of fish farmers is that they are of productive age with a low level of education. Livelihoods as fish farmers are part-time. The aquaculture business is mostly done by men as breadwinners, while women play a role in carrying out domestic activities, the role of women in fish farming is only to help provide feed. The social stratification of the fish farmer community is in the lower strata as ordinary people. Farmers generally have a strong kinship based on family ties. The economic conditions of most fish farmers have income that is in the low category, which is less than IDR 5,000,000 per month. Social factors that hinder fish farming in developing their business are lack of counseling, lack of training, and livelihoods as fish farmers are part-time so they are not serious about carrying out the fish farming business. The economic factors that hinder fish farmers are the high prices of feed and seeds.

Abstract

Productivity is a concept that describes the relationship between output (production results) and input used (land area, seeds, feed) as one of the efforts that can be made to encourage growth and development in the fisheries and marine sectors. This study aims to analyze the level of productivity and factors that influence the productivity of fisheries cultivation efforts in Floating Net Cage (KJA) in Cirata Reservoir, West Bandung Regency. This study uses a case study method with a sampling technique using the purposive sampling method. The data collection technique is assisted by observation and interview methods with questionnaires, then the data obtained is analyzed using a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of the study showed that the level of productivity per unit area was 14.683 kg/yr/m2 and productivity per unit cost was IDR 19.016/kg. The Financial Analysis carried out produced a profitable R/C ratio value of 1,17. Factors that significantly affect cultivation productivity include land area, seed quality, feed conversion, and length of experience, while the age variable did not show a significant effect on productivity.

Abstract

Fish as a perishable food so that it can be consumed in good conditions requires efforts to maintain its freshness through the application of a cold chain (ice) system and also processing. Fish processing aims to increase the added value of fish raw materials while maintaining the quality and nutrition contained in fish so that consumers can consume the product safely and obtain its benefits. This study aims to determine how much-added value is obtained from the processing of fish batagor in the form of frozen food in which mackerel is the main raw material for fish batagor. The research was conducted at UMKM Selaras Semesta, Bandung City, West Java in March 2023 with the method used, namely the case study method with a descriptive approach. The Hayami method is used to measure and analyze the added value of processed fishery products that are studied quantitatively. The results showed that the added value generated from the batagor mackerel production activities was included in the category of high added value, which was Rp. 488,633/kg of input with a ratio of added value to product value of 78% and the amount of profit earned per kg is Rp.176,777 with a profit level percentage of 36%. The added value of mackerel batagor production is influenced by the price of raw materials, output value, and the value of other input contributions.
