Abstract

Geographically Weighted Poisson Regression (GWPR) is a local form of Poisson regression that accounts for cases of spatial heterogeneity. Many studies have been conducted on GWPR models; however, these models do not account for the population size in each region. In this study, GWPR incorporating exposure was applied for the modeling of stunting cases in Central Java Province, Indonesia. The exposure in this model is the number of toddlers in each regency/city.The results of the empirical study showed that the percentage of low birth weight has a significant effect on the stunting cases in all regencies/cities, with the exception of Purworejo and Wonosobo. Meanwhile, other independent variables that have a significant effect on stunting cases vary across regencies/cities. The GWPR model incorporating exposure yields lower MSE values than the GWPR model without exposure, which were 4871 and 5730, respectively. The lower MSE indicates that the GWPR incorporating exposure has better accuracy in modeling the number of stunting cases.

Abstract

This study examines the use of diverse media and gaming technologies to provide tangible learning experiences in early childhood education, focusing specifically on learning media made from residual waste. The use of residual waste as a learning medium is grounded in its accessibility in children’s everyday environments and its potential to teach recycling and waste reduction. Adopting a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, this study aims to describe the use of residual waste as a medium for early childhood art learning. The research was conducted at TK Negeri 6 Yogyakarta with 15 participants comprising the principal, teachers, and group B2 children. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The findings show that the use of residual waste as a learning medium is organized into three stages: implementation, planning, and evaluation. The use of residual waste has proven to be effective in art learning for young children because, through such learning media, children are free to create according to their own creativity and imagination.

Abstract

Numeracy is an important skill that enables students to understand mathematical concepts and solve problems in real-life contexts. According to the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), numeracy refers to the ability to use, interpret, and communicate mathematical information in everyday contexts. However, the 2022 PISA results show that Indonesia's average score in numeracy has declined compared to 2018 (OECD, 2023). This indicates that many students still struggle with the stages of thinking processes needed to solve mathematical problems correctly. This study aims to systematically examine the various factors that influence, content, and variations in students' thinking processes in numeracy. This research uses the PRISMA 2020 method by analysing 22 articles selected from the range of 2020-2024. The results showed that the most studied variations included mathematical thinking processes, mathematical literacy thinking processes, and thinking processes in solving problems. Algebra is the most researched content, because it has a framework that includes detailed stages in the thinking process, such as information identification, symbolic representation, and concept application. The most reviewed factors in the thinking process are mathematical ability and cognitive style. Students with high mathematical ability are more systematic in thinking, while students with medium and low ability tend to need scaffolding. Students with field independent cognitive style showed higher creativity than field dependent students.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study systematically reviews the role of digital technologies in the design of mathematics teaching and learning over the past decade. It aims to evaluate how digital tools have been integrated into task and lesson design, identifying emerging trends, challenges, and innovations. Methodology: A systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA framework was conducted, analyzing studies published between 2014 and 2023. A total of 32 studies were included, sourced from various academic databases. These studies were examined to explore the use of digital technologies such as GeoGebra, Dynamic Geometry Environments (DGE), mobile apps, and others in mathematics instruction. Main Findings: The review found that digital technologies, particularly GeoGebra and DGE, were frequently used to enhance mathematical exploration and conjecturing. Other tools, including mobile applications, augmented reality (AR), and AI, have contributed to innovative teaching strategies, increasing student engagement and understanding. However, challenges such as unequal access to technology and the need for teacher training in tool integration were identified. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides a unique contribution by focusing not only on the use of digital tools but also on their role within the broader teaching design context. It offers insights into how these technologies shape pedagogical strategies, helping educators design more effective and inclusive mathematics education environments.

Abstract

Abstract

The revitalization of green tea production technology plays a pivotal role in fostering the enhancement of the quality and competitiveness of local products in Indonesia. Although Indonesia's green tea export earnings reached 69.01 million USD in 2023, this figure remains low compared to neighboring countries. Competitive trade in the global tea market requires improved production processing technology. This paper explains how the application of IoT-based green tea rolling technology can empower Poktan communities and align with the government's revitalization program. This community empowerment method is divided into six stages: 1). Preparation and production planning 2) Tool and Innovation Concept Development, 3) Innovation design, 4) Implementation, 5) Marketing digitalization, 6) Evaluation. This step is a breakthrough that will allow us to continue to be competitive by meeting the needs of consumers globally. Furthermore, the use of modern technology will help achieve SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), and SDG 13 (climate action) in the future.

Abstract

Numeracy skills and academic achievement are key indicators of student educational success and are influenced by both cognitive and non-cognitive factors. However, previous studies have often examined logical–mathematical intelligence and a growth mindset separately, so empirical evidence on their combined role in influencing numeracy skills and academic achievement remains limited. Therefore, this study investigates the influence of logical–mathematical intelligence and growth mindset, both independently and interactively, on students’ numeracy skills and academic achievement. This study employed an exploratory quantitative factorial design using a two-way Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) approach, involving a small sample of 30 ninth-grade students from a public junior high school in Jepara, Indonesia, which requires cautious interpretation of the findings. The results indicate that logical–mathematical intelligence has a significant effect on students’ numeracy skills (p < .001), while growth mindset significantly affects students’ academic achievement (p = .02). However, there is no significant interaction between logical–mathematical intelligence and growth mindset on both dependent variables (p = .937). Based on the results, these findings indicate that logical–mathematical intelligence and growth mindset are independently associated with different learning outcomes, rather than exerting a combined or interactive effect.
