Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of workation on the work productivity of millennials in Indonesia, taking into account the mediating roles of work-life balance, memorable tourism experience, and technological adaptability. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with the population consisting of millennial workers who participated in workation programs in Bali, Yogyakarta, and Bandung during the 2020–2023 period. A total of 300 respondents were determined using probability sampling with the Slovin formula at a 5% margin of error and were then proportionally distributed across the three regions. Data were collected through primary surveys (questionnaires) and secondary sources (literature review), and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that all hypotheses were supported, with key findings showing that technological adaptability, memorable tourism experiences, and work-life balance have a positive and significant effect on work productivity. Workation also directly influences these three variables as well as productivity itself. Furthermore, there is a significant indirect effect, where workation boosts productivity through the mediating paths of balanced life, meaningful travel experiences, and tech adaptability. These findings affirm that workation is an effective flexible work strategy for enhancing employee performance through adaptive, balanced, and inspiring work environments. The study also has significant implications for the development of the tourism sector and labor policy in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate strategies for developing a sustainable geopark-based tourism destination in Air Batu Village, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The village is part of the Merangin Geopark area, which is known for its significant geological wealth, such as the presence of ancient plant fossils and unique natural landscapes. However, the development process of this tourism area still faces several obstacles, including limited infrastructure, low levels of community engagement, and suboptimal coordination between the village government and the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). This research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using the SWOT method to explore the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to sustainable geopark tourism development. The findings indicate that development efforts can be improved through cross-sector collaboration involving the government, local communities, and the private sector. The main focus should be directed toward enhancing supporting infrastructure, promoting the destination effectively, and strengthening the local economy based on its existing potential. This study is expected to provide constructive input for the formulation of strategic policies in the sustainable management of the Merangin Geopark and serve as an important reference for future related research.

Abstract

Wewengkon Adat Kasepuhan Citorek is a traditional rural area which is one of the priorities for tourism development in Lebak Regency. As a traditional village that has unique cultural potential, this area also has a variety of natural potential because of its position as an enclave area of the Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS), so it is not surprising that this area is directed to be developed as a tourist village thanks to the potential it has. This research aims to identify and analyze tourist village management based on tourist village components in Wewengkon Adat Kasepuhan Citorek. The research method used is a descriptive analysis method by comparing conditions in the field with the theory of tourist village components. The results of this research are that the management of tourist villages in Wewengkon Adat Kasepuhan Citorek is still natural and there is no special tourism village management so that each village runs independently. Therefore, it is necessary to have a tourist village management institution with a cluster model so that each village complements and integrates each ODTW as a form of shared enthusiasm in managing tourist villages in Wewengkon Adat Kasepuhan Citorek.
