Abstract

After the COVID-19 pandemic, Muslim-friendly tourism has become a significant attraction in several Asian countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the potential strategies for Muslim-friendly tourism and identify effective development strategies. The methods used include descriptive qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis. Data collection techniques involved documentation, observation, and interviews with informants selected based on predetermined sampling criteria. The results indicate that the involvement of various parties in the development of Muslim-friendly tourism is focused on fulfilling their respective roles and functions, particularly in terms of regulations, policies, and the provision of halal-certified food and hotels that meet Muslim-friendly tourism standards. However, the destination lacks adequate standards to become a leading Muslim-friendly tourism destination. Abstract

A6 model consist the attributes of tourist destination that are attraction, accessibility, amenities, available package, activities, and ancillary service. They both have an influence on increasing tourist satisfaction. Health protocol is also the perception to enhance tourist satisfaction in new normal. Consequently, health protocol plays an important role in boosting the tourist satisfaction in Cibuntu Village, West Java. This study analyses the relationships proposed in SERVQUAL, which consist five core components of service quality: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. The sample in this study was 200 respondents from the tourists who experienced at least one time of visiting Cibuntu Village. This study using questionnaires in the kind of Google form, consists of 23 items.Five hypotheses were formulated and tested. The finding of this study found from all respondents is also going down more than four time experiences. Then offer a promotion for the young generation or under 25 year old market segment. In the new normal, the application of health protocols determines tourist satisfaction in Cibuntu Village, West Java. The process of building, designing, and defining a sustainable tourism village, we must collaborate with the central government and local government in the new normal situation. Cibuntu Village should collect the data from the tourist visiting Cibuntu village and save it as guest history to offer a suitable promotion in new normal.

Abstract

Cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability or CHSE is the implementation of hygiene, health, safety, and environmental sustainability which is an operational guide for the tourism sector. The purpose of this study is to analyze the interconnection of certified cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability on purchased decision tourism businesses. The sample was 200 respondents from the tourists who experienced at least one time of visiting Puncak. The method used in this research is quantitative method. The questionnaires will be collected by using Google form. The statistical finding there is positive and strong relationship between certified cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability on purchased decision tourism businesses. The finding of this study first, certified cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability very important on purchased decision tourism businesses. Second, the age of respondent between 25 years old until 44 years old with 83 respondents from a total of 200 respondents, this opportunity for tourism businesses to promote a tourism sustainability for young generation. Third, tourism businesses to maintain the price is not higher than other tourist destinations and it is advisable not to increase the prices. Fourthly, according experienced visiting Puncak, more than four-time experience of respondent visiting Puncak with 129 respondents from a total of 200 respondents from all respondents, suggestion for tourism businesses to maintain products, services and innovate by implementing tourism sustainability businesses.

Abstract

The quality of the cultural tourist attraction of Chinatown Glodok still has several problems. It is caused by several factor including heritage, hospitality, and E-WOM. This study aims to analyses the effect of heritage, hospitality, and E-WOM on visiting decisions through visitor satisfaction as an intervention in Chinatown Glodok, West Jakarta. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative. The sample amounted to 200 people. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The research method uses path analysis with the help of the Smart PLS program with measurement model analysis (outer model) and structural model analysis (inner model). The results showed that: (1) Heritage and hospitality had a significant effect on visitor satisfaction; (2) E-WOM has no significant effect on visitor satisfaction; (3) Heritage, hospitality, and visitor satisfaction have a significant effect on visiting decisions; (4) E-WOM has no significant effect on visiting decisions; (5) Heritage and hospitality have a significant effect on visiting decisions through visitor satisfaction; (6) E-WOM has no significant effect on visiting decisions through visitor satisfaction.

Abstract

Istana Siak is an heritage site of the Sultan Syarif Eunuch's official residence which is used as a historical tourism destination in Siak District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research is motivated by an increase in the number of tourist visits but the impact on the community's economy This research aims to explore the contribution of tourism to the community’s economy. This research method is quantitative descriptive. Respondents in this study were 100 tourists, 24 businessman and 15 workers. Data collected were analyzed by using multiplier effects through the calculation of calcultae the ratio of Keynesian multiplier effects and income ratio multiplier types I & II. The results showed that the contribution of tourism in the Siak palace has low contribution known from the local income multiplier value of 0.84, which means an increase in tourist spending by 100,000.- will have an impact on increasing the income of local people by Rp.84,000. It is recommended that all stakeholders synergize in their role in developing Siak tourism in a more integrated and integrated manner to increase the contribution of the Siak Palace to the community's economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Generation Z in terms of their preferences and participation in urban tourism experiences. The study uses a qualitative methodology with a design thinking approach, involving interviews with Generation Z and the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with tourism stakeholders. In addition, this study includes observation and data collection related to urban tourism, including exploration of tourist destinations, analysis of consumer behavior (especially Generation Z), and strategies for maintaining the sustainability of tourist destinations in the urban area of ​​DKI Jakarta. The author examines the behavior of Generation Z in the context of tourism, preferences for information media, and their level of involvement. Observations of tourism stakeholders were conducted to understand the vision and mission of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, strategies for increasing tourism attractiveness for Generation Z, and challenges faced in dealing with consumers from the digital generation. The research questions focused on Generation Z's preferences and participation in urban tourism experiences. The study results show that Generation Z is highly interested in urban tourist destinations, with social media significantly promoting and introducing tourism. In addition, innovation and application of technology are needed to increase the attractiveness of urban tourist destinations, especially for Generation Z. By leveraging innovative technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and gamification, the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf DKI Jakarta) can effectively engage.

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM diadakan untuk mengatasi keterbatasan pengetahuan dan infrastruktur masyarakat Desa Watusigar dalam mengembangkan potensi edu-agrowisata tembakau non-rokok sebagai upaya meningkatkan pendapatan dan diversifikasi ekonomi desa. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di Desa Watusigar bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengembangkan potensi edu-agrowisata berbasis budi daya tembakau non-rokok sebagai upaya meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat dan mendorong diversifikasi ekonomi desa. Melalui kegiatan ini, masyarakat diberdayakan dengan penyuluhan mengenai pemanfaatan tembakau untuk produk non-rokok, seperti kosmetik herbal dan pestisida alami. Metode yang digunakan meliputi survei potensi desa, observasi lapangan, studi dokumentasi, serta cus untuk menggali ide dan strategi yang tepat. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa Desa Watusigar memiliki potensi besar dalam mengembangkan edu-agrowisata tembakau, namun tantangannya adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang peluang wisata dan infrastruktur pendukung yang masih minim. Strategi yang diusulkan mencakup peningkatan kapasitas petani melalui pelatihan pengolahan produk non-rokok, pengembangan infrastruktur wisata seperti jalur wisata dan gazebo, serta promosi melalui media sosial dan pameran. Edu-agrowisata ini berpeluang sebagai pilihan strategis dalam memajukan ekonomi lokal dan memperkenalkan wisata edukatif yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Global tourism has shown a remarkable recovery in 2024, with Indonesia ranking 22nd in the Travel and Tourism Development Index. Indonesia has made significant advancements in sustainable tourism, particularly by focusing on socio-economic, environmental, and demand sustainability. However, challenges persist, including low-quality services and over-tourism in urban areas, which impact local resources and communities. To address these issues, the Indonesian government introduced quality tourism initiatives at the International Quality Tourism Conference 2024. These initiatives aim to balance supply-side improvements in competitiveness, infrastructure, and sustainable management with demand-side enhancements that emphasize unique and high-value experiences for tourists. This approach aligns with Indonesia’s National Medium-Term Development Plan (2024-2029), which seeks to prioritize quality over quantity, thus ensuring sustainable tourism growth and enhancing local cultural and environmental preservation. Urban tourism, particularly in Jakarta, has been identified as a key area for quality tourism enhancement. Although Jakarta welcomed nearly two million international tourists in 2023, it still lags in global urban tourism rankings, highlighting the need to strengthen its destination competitiveness. This study, using systematic literature review methods, explores the current status of urban tourism research, focusing on destination quality and competitiveness. Bibliometric analyses, conducted through VOSviewer software, reveal thematic clusters in urban tourism, such as sustainability, smart tourism, and over-tourism, underscoring the increasing importance of quality management and competitive strategies in urban tourism. Findings suggest that The determining factors toward the quality destination of urban tourism are: sustainability, competitiveness, quality of life (impact of tourism), smart city and smart tourism.

Abstract

Coto Mangkasara merupakan salah satu makanan tradisional Kota Makassar sejak abad 16 yang memiliki ciri khas bahan baku menggunakan 40 macam rempah dan kuah yang menggunakan gilingan kacang tanah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis Coto Mangkasara apakah telah memenuhi kriteria makanan tradisional, telah memenuhi dimensi sebagai identitas daerah Kota Makassar, dan strategi pengembangan Coto Mangkasara sebagai makanan tradisional dan identitas daerah Kota Makassar. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif eksploratif dan telah dipelajari secara mendalam. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara mendalam dengan masing-masing sumber. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa permasalahan Coto Mangkasara terdiri dari beberapa rumah makan yang tidak menjadikan Coto Mangkasara sebagai menu utama, pengolahan dan alat yang tidak konvensional, Coto Mangkasara dicampur dengan makanan tradisional lainnya, wisatawan dan masyarakat kurang mengetahui sejarah, tradisi dan acara kuliner yang diselenggarakan oleh pemerintah.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented global economic shock, causing a recession, increasing unemployment, and worsening poverty. In this context, tourism is emerging as a critical sector with the potential to overcome these challenges and drive economic recovery. This research explores the concept of Transformative Tourism as an innovative approach to overcoming the negative impacts of the recession, creating jobs, and alleviating poverty in the post-pandemic era. Through a comprehensive analysis of global case studies, this research reveals critical strategies for revitalizing the tourism sector sustainably and inclusively. Key findings highlight the importance of tourism product diversification, workforce skills development, use of digital technology, and collaboration between stakeholders. This research also emphasizes the central role of tourism in empowering local communities, especially vulnerable groups, through employment opportunities and small business development. By adopting a transformative approach, the tourism sector can catalyze equitable economic growth, poverty reduction, and social resilience in the face of post-COVID uncertainty. Policy implications of this research include the need for coordinated government support, investment in tourism infrastructure, and promotion of responsible tourism. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, industry players, and academics seeking to harness the transformative potential of tourism to address pressing economic and social challenges in the post-pandemic era.
