Abstract

This study investigates (1) the impact of the Flipped Classroom model on students’ learning independence in Social Studies, (2) its effect on Social Studies achievement, and (3) its simultaneous influence on both variables among Grade VIII students at SMPN 10 Satap Liukang Tangaya. A quantitative approach was applied using a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample comprised 33 students, with 17 assigned to the experimental class and 16 to the control class. Data collection instruments included a learning independence questionnaire, Social Studies achievement tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, paired samples t-tests, independent samples t-tests, and MANOVA using SPSS. The findings reveal that the Flipped Classroom model significantly enhances students’ learning independence, as evidenced by independent samples t-test results (Sig. < 0.05). It also significantly improves Social Studies learning outcomes, indicated by higher posttest scores in the experimental class compared to the control class (Sig. < 0.05). Furthermore, MANOVA results confirm a significant simultaneous effect on both learning independence and achievement (Sig. < 0.05). These results demonstrate that the Flipped Classroom model effectively improves the overall quality of Social Studies instruction for Grade VIII students.

Abstract

The growing demand for transparency, accountability, and measurable performance has transformed higher education institutions into complex public organizations required to deliver reliable and stakeholder-oriented services. Within this governance-driven environment, institutional governance plays a fundamental role in shaping service excellence and institutional legitimacy. Drawing on a public administration perspective, this study examines how governance dimensions influence academic service performance in higher education. This research employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and institutional observations involving university leaders, academic administrators, faculty members, and students. The analysis focuses on governance dimensions—transparency, accountability, participation, effectiveness, and responsibility—and their integration into institutional systems such as performance management, quality assurance, and digital infrastructure. The findings reveal that governance frameworks are formally established through regulations and digital systems; however, their operational integration remains uneven. Transparency improves service reliability when supported by consistent information management, while accountability mechanisms tend to emphasize procedural compliance rather than performance-based evaluation. Stakeholder participation is institutionalized but largely consultative. The study concludes that service excellence in higher education is a governance-driven outcome that requires systemic alignment between governance principles, institutional capacity, and performance management processes. Strengthened governance integration enhances service reliability and institutional legitimacy.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to determine whether cheerful interactive multimedia (MIC) can be used in science classes for fifth-grade students at KIP V Bara-Baraya  elementary school, Makassar City. This research develops products based on the results of an analysis of student needs using research and development (R&D) types. The research subjects were 20 students in class 5A, and the research and development procedure used was the Alessi & Trollip development model, which began with the planning stage, the design stage, and the development stage. Products developed through additional research go through two stages of testing: alpha and beta. The alpha test or validity test in this study involved two validators, namely the material expert validator and the media expert validator. Based on the results of the media expert validation analysis, an overall score of 93 was obtained with a percentage of 83.03%, so multimedia products are in the "very eligible" category. The results of the material expert validation analysis obtained an overall score of 70 with a percentage of 92.10%, so multimedia products are in the "very eligible" category. As for the results of the responses of students and teachers for each product, they obtained percentages of 92.9% and 93.05%, so that multimedia products were in the "very eligible" category. Based on the results of this study, it can be an additional reference for future researchers and an innovation in developing interactive multimedia in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze the effect of gamification on students’ learning motivation and (2) analyze the effect of gamification on students’ positive perceptions in economics learning among Grade X students at SMAN 1 Pangkep. This research employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design and involved 198 students selected through proportional random sampling. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used as the main research instrument to measure the variables of gamification, learning motivation, and positive perception. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to identify relationship patterns and determine the magnitude of influence of the independent variable on both dependent variables. The results of the study indicate that gamification has a positive and significant effect on student learning motivation. In addition, gamification also has a positive and significant effect on students' positive perceptions of economics learning. These findings indicate that the application of gamification elements in learning can encourage student engagement, increase learning motivation, and create a more interesting, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experience..
