Abstract

Hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali hal mackrokosmos kehidupan antaranya biofilia dan nekrofilia dengan dikaitkan ada faktor pembangun pada suatu cerpen. Munculnya banyak sastrawan yang menghasilkan karya sastra beragam pada jenis-jenisnya, mengakibatkan eksistensi karya sastra menjadi meninggkat pada peminat karya sastra. Jenis karya sastra yang memiliki banyak peminatnya yaitu cerpen atau cerita pendek, alasan pastinya cerpen dapat dinikmati secara praktis karena ceritanya cenderung sedikit dan tidak terlalu banyak bagiannya, sehingga tidak membuat penikmat cerpen bosan dengan ceritanya. Pada penelitian kali ini membahas tentang makrokosmos kehidupan erich fromm yang terdapat dalam cerita pendek “KABUT OTAK” Karya ASLAN ABIDIN yang menceritakan kehidupan semua orang pada masa pandemik. Seperti yang diketahui masa pandemik Covid-19 banyak sekali hal yang terjadi karena perubahan besar yang terjadi oleh aktivitas semua orang didunia. Menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif yang mengumpulkan beberapa sampel penelitian sebagai rujukan hasil dari penelitian.

Abstract

Abstrak This research analyzes the social interactions in the short story "Holy Family" by Sunlie Thomas Alexander. The focus of the research carried out was analyzing associative social interactions and dissociative social interactions. The aim of this research is to describe the various types of social interactions contained in the short story "Holy Family" by Sunlie Thomas Alexander. The approach applied is a qualitative approach, the data sources contained in this research are in the form of words, phrases and sentences in short stories. The data collection method in analyzing is in the form of short stories and relevant theoretical sources used in analyzing data and reading carefully analyzing relevant data, classifying, presenting and concluding research data. The research results show that there is associative social interaction which is included in the types of cooperation and accommodation, while disassociative social interaction is in the form of contravention and conflict or conflict. This research contributes to readers regarding the various types of dissociative social interactions and associative social interactions and their relevance in social life. Keywords:Short story; Social interaction; Disassociative social interaction, Associative social interaction; Penelitian ini menganalisis mengenai interaksi sosial yang ada pada cerpen “Keluarga Kudus” karya Sunlie Thomas Alexander. Fokus penelitian yang dilakukan adalah menganalisis interaksi sosial asosiatif dan interaksi sosial disosiatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan macam-macam interaksi sosial yang terdapat dalam cerpen “Keluarga Kudus” karya Sunlie Thomas Alexander. Pendekatan yang diterapkan adalah dengan pendekatan kualitatif, sumber data yang terdapat dalam penelitian ini yakni dalam bentuk kata, frasa dan kalimat dalam cerpen. Metode pengumpulan data dalam menganalisis yakni berupa cerpen dan sumber teori yang relevan digunakan dalam menganalisis data dan membaca dengan cermat menganalisis data yang relevan, mengklasifikasikan, menyajikan dan menyimpulkan data hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interaksi sosial asosiatif yang termasuk dalam jenis kerja kerja sama dan akomodasi, sedangkan interaksi sosial disosiatif yakni dalam bentuk kontravensi dan pertentangan atau pertikaian. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pembaca mengenai macammacam interaksi sosial disosiatif dan interaksi sosial asosiatif serta relevansi dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, as formal and non-formal educational institutions, play a strategic role in shaping the character of the nation's future generations. However, the teaching of Indonesian language and literature in Islamic boarding schools often faces obstacles because some teachers are not graduates of Indonesian language and literature education programs, resulting in a lack of mastery of linguistic rules and innovative teaching strategies. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve teachers' competence in mastering Indonesian spelling, standard sentence writing based on digital technology, and creative and innovative teaching of Indonesian language and literature. The implementation methods include lectures, discussions, question and answer sessions, practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in teaching Indonesian language and literature, as indicated by their improved ability to write and teach using technology. The high enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated the success of the program, which is expected to continue in supporting the improvement of education quality in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a prototype CCU dictionary for BIPA students from China. In addition to language, BIPA students need to understand Indonesian culture because language and culture are related. Language can be mastered well if the culture that accompanies it is also well understood. This research is a mixed study with the ADDIE model development method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to the development stage due to the limited time in this study. Needs analysis is done by using questionnaires and literature study. Then, the design and development of this prototype is carried out by taking into account the aspects of the material, presentation, as well as language and readability. The results of this study revealed that most BIPA students experienced culture shock because of the differences in Indonesian culture and the culture of the student country. There are 45 cross cultural understandings that BIPA students from China need to understand. The cross cultural understanding consists of 16 cultural similarities and 29 cultural differences. These cultural comparisons are presented in this developed CCU dictionary prototype. This CCU dictionary prototype is designed to be a material for creating applications as electronic learning media that can be accessed offline and contain images, audio, audio visuals, and text in it. This CCU dictionary prototype contributes to the BIPA teaching and learning process and it is beneficial for students, teachers, and institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the short story writing skills of second semester PGSD UNHASY students in the literary appreciation course using a contextual learning model. Through this research, it is hoped that in the learning process in Indonesian language courses, obstacles during the learning process, student achievement before and after using the contextual learning model and its effectiveness in improving short story writing among students. This research uses a type of classroom action research (PTK). The steps for implementing the research were carried out in four stages, namely: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subject of this research is the process of learning to write poetry in the Indonesian language course, while the research object is second semester students majoring in PGSD, Hasyim Asy'ari University Jombang. Data collection techniques use observation techniques, tests, documentation and field notes. Data analysis techniques use quantitative and qualitative data. The indicators of success in this research are first, student activities in literary appreciation lectures on short story writing material using a contextual learning model. The results of the recapitulation of completion in cycle I and cycle II can be concluded that the contextual learning model has been successful in increasing the active and enthusiastic role of students in writing short stories.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language style in Djenar Maesa Ayu's short story "Mereka Bilang Saya Monyet" and explore its implications for Indonesian language learning in Phase F. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a textual analysis approach and a survey on student interest. The findings reveal that language styles such as metaphor, symbolism, irony, hyperbole, and repetition are strategically used to convey themes of dehumanization, trauma, and exploitation. This research is conducted in SMA A. Wahid Hasyim Jombang. The results highlight that the utilization of language style enhances students' critical thinking, interpretative skills, and aesthetic appreciation. Furthermore, most students demonstrated high interest in learning through this short story, although some struggled with its complex language style. The study concludes that this short story holds substantial potential as a critical literacy-based learning medium relevant to modern students' needs. Further research is recommended to develop adaptive teaching methods utilizing similar-themed literary works to enrich learning materials.

Abstract

This study intended to explore one of the literacy learning strategies namely character development in reading that can be used in the classroom by combining with Propp’s dramatis personae framework to get the deeper understanding about the folktales. This study involved the Japanese Folktale entitled Princess Hase as this story contains moral value that can be obtained by students after reading the folktales. This study used qualitative descriptive method which emphasizes on dramatis personae that exist in the folktales to get the deeper understanding. This study found out that the application of Propp’s dramatis personae in analyzing folktales can make the readers easier in understanding the folktales. Moreover, the combination of literacy learning strategies in this case character development in reading with Propp’s dramatis personae is beneficial to be applied in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the historical context and messages contained in the novel Laut Bercerita, with the aim of enriching our understanding of the past that shaped the nation’s identity. The main themes in the novel are analyzed to relate them to the historical and political context of the New Order era, in the hope of opening up insights into the political and social circumstances of the time. The research method uses a literature approach by analyzing relevant literature sources. The results showed that the novel Laut Bercerita depicts the struggle of activists in the New Order era against the authoritarian government that ignored the fate of the small people. The characters of the activists who are brave, passionate, caring for others, and critical are considered as role models. From this novel, we are reminded of the dangers of authoritarian regimes that suppress critical voices, the importance of continuing to fight for truth and justice, and not forgetting Indonesia’s dark history during the New Order era. By remembering the suffering, it is hoped that future generations can fight for the values of freedom and justice.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative approach to describe the image of the wife in two novels: "Entrok" by Okky Madasari (Indonesia) and "Anugrah Buat Syamsiah" by Rohani Din (Malaysia). Data were collected through interviews, document analysis, and behavioral observation, with a focus on expressions and dialogues that reflect the wife's struggles in family decision-making. This study examines the cultural background and feminist issues based on Gayatri Spivak's subaltern feminist theory. The methodology consists of three steps: a literature review to understand the context of feminism and women's roles, systematic note-taking to organize the data, and grouping the content into relevant themes. Analytical techniques include reading quotations, grouping the data, and linking the analysis to subaltern feminist theory. The results show that both novels depict the complexity of the wife's role in a patriarchal society, as well as the challenges faced in striving for freedom and autonomy. Thus, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the representation of women in literature and the relevance of feminist theory in the Indonesian and Malaysian contexts.

Abstract

Tujuan diadakannya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk mendampingi guru dalam menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Inovatif dengan Strategi Literasi. Hali ini merupakan salah satu kewajiban pendidik dalam rangka menyelesaikan permasalahan sosial yang dalam kurun waktu terakhir ini terjadi di masyarakat. Selain itu, peserta juga diberikan kesempatan untuk berdiskusi dengan para pemateri dan peserta yang lain. Tujuan Mata Kuliah bahasa Indonesia sesuai dengan Kurikulum Standar Isi adalah agar mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan: (1) berkomunikasi secara efektif dan efisien sesuai dengan etika yang berlaku, baik secara lisan maupun tulis; (2) menghargai dan bangga menggunakan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa persatuan dan bahasa negara; (3) memahami bahasa Indonesia dan menggunakannya dengan tepat dan kreatif untuk berbagai tujuan; dan (4) menggunakan bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kemampuan intelektual, kematangan emosional dan sosial; (5) menikmati dan memanfaatkan karya sastra untuk memperluas wawasan, memperhalus budi pekerti, serta meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan berbahasa; (6) menghargai dan membanggakan sastra Indonesia sebagai khasanah budaya dan intelektual manusia Indonesia. Adapun ruang lingkup Mata Kuliah Bahasa Indonesia sesuai dengan kurikulum berbasis kompetensi mencakup komponen kemampuan yang meliputi aspek: (1) mendengarkan, (2) berbicara, (3) membaca dan (4) menulis.
