This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to improve the reading literacy skills of junior high school students at Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur through training in quick and easy extensive reading techniques. The training was conducted by a team of lecturers from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Department of FBS Unesa, targeting 20 students from the Klang Malaysia Learning Center. The methods used included lectures, discussions, guided training, and mentoring. The training material covered the concepts of extensive reading, speed reading strategies, and effective text comprehension. Participants were given various texts on environmental themes and fables tailored to their age and abilities. After the reading training, students engaged in creative writing activities as a way to apply their reading comprehension skills. The results of the activity showed an increase in enthusiasm, motivation to read, and the ability to comprehend texts quickly. Most participants were able to produce creative writing based on their reading, although some students still required intensive mentoring due to their limited basic reading skills. The outputs of the activity included video documentation, mass media publications, scientific articles, and intellectual property rights certificates. Overall, this training was effective in fostering students' interest in reading and strengthening their literacy skills, and it is recommended to be continued with a sustainable mentoring program.

This research attempts to describe character education alongside the strategic role of the Bau Nyale Festival in preserving the traditions and culture of the Sasak people on Lombok Island. In the midst of globalization which introduces a rationalistic and materialistic mindset, this festival is seen as an important means of maintaining local wisdom, ensuring that culture is not eroded by foreign culture, and ensuring that noble values are passed on to the younger generation. In addition, this study tries to explore how this tradition supports the resilience of the regional tourism sector based on culture. The method applied in this research is a qualitative approach using ethnographic methods. Data collection was carried out through direct observation at the location, precisely in Kuta Village (Kuta Beach/Seger), Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency. Apart from observations, researchers conducted in-depth interviews with traditional leaders and local residents, and documented various cultural activities that took place during the festival. The data is then analyzed comprehensively with the aim of interpreting events and cultural elements that develop in that society. Research findings show that the Bau Nyale Festival is a combination of respecting the historical myth of Princess Mandalika and strengthening the ethnic identity of the Sasak people. The moral education values found include willingness to sacrifice, spirit of mutual cooperation, and sportsmanship. Various activities supporting the festival, such as the Peresean tradition and traditional Gendang Beleq music, have proven effective in instilling character values such as courage, resilience, discipline, responsibility and teamwork in the younger generation. Therefore, this festival functions as an educational instrument as well as a behavioral "compass" that aligns the life of modern society with the social order and ancestral heritage.

This research is rooted in the phenomenon of spiritual estrangement experienced by prophets as recorded in the Qur’an, reflecting existential silence within the prophetic process. This silence is not merely physical isolation but a profound inner contemplation in relation to God and society. The objective of this study is to explore the existential dynamics within the Qur'anic prophetic narratives through a religious literary hermeneutic approach. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with an interpretive-thematic framework, supported by the religious existentialist theories of Kierkegaard, Gabriel Marcel, and Muhammad Iqbal, as well as Mustansir Mir’s Qur’anic narratology. Primary data were drawn from verses containing the inner experiences of prophets, while secondary data came from classical and contemporary exegesis literature. The findings reveal that prophetic narratives contain dramatic structures emphasizing spiritual transformation through suffering, rejection, and isolation elements that strengthen prophetic faith and mission. The conclusion of this study is that the existential silence of prophets is not merely a form of alienation, but a path to the highest spiritual attainment, inspiring ethical resilience and contemplative strength in modern human life.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses individuasi tokoh Rey dalam novel Tuhan Tidak Pernah Iseng karya Zemarey Al-Bakhin berdasarkan psikologi analitik Carl Gustav Jung. Fokus penelitian tidak semata pada konflik lahiriah, melainkan pada pergulatan batin Rey, terutama dalam menghadapi persona dan shadow, serta bagaimana krisis eksistensial mendorongnya melakukan refleksi dan transformasi diri. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah psikologi sastra dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data utama bersumber dari novel, sementara data pendukung berasal dari buku dan jurnal tentang teori Jung. Pengumpulan data melalui teknik baca-catat, lalu dianalisis dengan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa proses individuasi Rey berlangsung secara bertahap: dimulai dari ketidakseimbangan psikis, konflik antara persona (topeng sosial) dan shadow (sisi gelap), hingga tercapainya integrasi antara kesadaran dan ketidaksadaran. Perjalanan psikologis ini menandai perubahan Rey dari pribadi yang dikuasai ego menjadi individu yang lebih utuh dan autentik. Dengan demikian, novel ini tidak hanya menceritakan tokoh Rey, tetapi juga menggambarkan bahwa pencarian makna hidup dapat muncul dari refleksi diri yang mendalam serta penerimaan terhadap seluruh aspek diri, termasuk yang sebelumnya dihindari.

Konflik sering kali menjadi pemicu terjadinya perubahan perilaku dan sikap. Dalam karya sastra pun, hal ini menjadi penyebab perubahan sikap pada suatu tokoh terutama pada psikologisnya. Peneliti merasa tertarik untuk mengungkap konflik eksternal yang menjadi faktor perubahan psikologis pada tokoh dalam suatu karya sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konflik eksternal terhadap kejiwaan tokoh Sumiko dalam novel Freeter Membeli Rumah karya Ariwaka Hiro. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik simak catat dalam pembacaan tertutup. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori psikologi sastra karena menelaah kejiwaan salah satu tokoh yang ada dalam karya sastra, khususnya pada novel Freeter Membeli Rumah karya Ariwaka Hiro. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konflik eksternal memengaruhi kejiwaan tokoh Sumiko. Sumiko mengalami gangguan depresi akibat konflik eksternal yang dialaminya. Konflik eksternal tersebut adalah (1) anak Sumiko bernama Ayako yang mengerti masalah Sumiko pergi meninggalkan rumah setelah menikah, (2) anak Sumiko yang bernama Seiji tidak memiliki pekerjaan tetap dan senang bermalas-malasan, (3) suami Sumiko yang bernama Seiichi memiliki sifat temperamen dan hanya memedulikan diri sendiri, (4) perundungan oleh tetangga sekitar memperparah gangguan kejiwaan yang diderita Sumiko.

Learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) poses unique challenges, particularly in understanding Indonesia's linguistic and cultural distinctiveness. Foreign students at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya come from diverse countries of origin, which naturally influences their preferences in absorbing lecture materials. This study aims to identify and analyze the learning methods applied by BIPA students at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya and the factors influencing them. This study utilized a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews with BIPA students, and open-ended questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data display, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The results of the study indicate that BIPA students at Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya tend to combine a communicative approach with cultural immersion. Out-of-class activities, such as direct interaction with native speakers within the campus environment and the utilization of audiovisual-based digital media, proved to be the most effective methods for them. Personal motivation factors and social-cultural adaptation in Surabaya play an important role in the selection of these methods.

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of adolescent love conflict in the film One Fine Day (2018), directed by Asep Kusdinar, through the lens of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis. The main focus of the study is the interaction of the three personality structures: the Id, Ego, and Superego, which shape the main characters' decision-making and behavior when facing romantic dilemmas. Using qualitative research methods with A content analysis approach, this study highlights how the characters Mahesa and Alana experience tension between impulsive drives (Id), demands of reality (Ego), and internalized moral norms (Superego). The results of this analysis indicate that the adolescent love conflict in this film is not merely a matter of superficial emotions, but rather a reflection of psychological struggles in the process of searching for identity. The film effectively visualizes how its characters negotiate desires, social rules, and moral principles, ultimately leading to character growth and emotional maturity. This study confirms the relevance of Freud's theory in understanding the psychological complexity of young people, especially as represented through cinema.

This study discusses the moral conflict and guilt experienced by the Grandfather character in the short story “Robohnya Surau Kami” by A.A. Navis through Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic perspective. The study aims to describe the forms of moral conflict, guilt, and the dynamics of id, ego, and superego that influence the psychological condition of the character. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach. The data source was the short story “Robohnya Surau Kami”, while the data consisted of narrative quotations, dialogues, and expressions indicating psychological conflict experienced by the character. Data collection techniques were conducted through reading and note-taking methods, followed by data analysis using Freud’s psychoanalytic theory. The findings reveal that the Grandfather character experiences deep moral conflict after realizing that the worship he devoted throughout his life is considered meaningless because it ignores social responsibility. The dominance of the superego causes excessive guilt, anxiety, self-punishment, and psychological pressure that eventually lead to self-destructive behavior. The imbalance between id, ego, and superego also strengthens the character’s inner conflict. This study implies that literary works can represent complex human psychological conditions and demonstrates the relevance of Freud’s psychoanalytic theory in analyzing Indonesian literary works, particularly in understanding moral conflict and guilt experienced by literary characters.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemanfaatan media Wizer.me sebagai alat evaluasi pemahaman siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 10 Malang. Media Wizer.me ini merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran interaktif yang dapat menjadikan siswa lebih aktif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Negeri 10 Malang. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi tiga tahapan, yaitu: (1) data reduction, (2) data display, (3) Conclusion drawing. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa menyoroti variasi yang signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Beberapa siswa mencapai nilai tinggi yang mencerminkan pemahaman yang kuat, sementara yang lain mendapatkan nilai rendah, menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan dalam pemahaman mereka. Variasi ini menimbulkan pertanyaan tentang faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa, faktor utama yang muncul dalam analisis ini adalah ketidaktersediaan perangkat dan kuota internet dan ketidaksetaraan dalam akses teknologi ini menghambat kemampuan siswa untuk mengikuti evaluasi pemahaman yang menggunakan media Wizer.me tersebut.

Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) has developed not only as a language learning program for international learners but also as a medium for introducing Indonesian culture. In the context of early childhood education, BIPA principles can be adapted to support language acquisition and intercultural understanding among children in Raudhatul Athfal (RA). This study aims to analyze the implementation of BIPA principles in early childhood learning and examine their contribution to language development and cultural awareness. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review and analysis of learning practices in early childhood education. The findings indicate that BIPA principles, including contextual learning, communicative interaction, cultural integration, and learner-centered instruction, can be effectively integrated into RA learning activities. Storytelling, songs, games, role-playing, and local cultural exploration facilitate children's language development while fostering positive attitudes toward cultural diversity. The integration of language and culture creates meaningful learning experiences and strengthens children's communicative competence from an early age. The study implies that adapting BIPA principles in RA can serve as an innovative strategy for developing language skills, cultural literacy, and social interaction competencies. Therefore, teachers need to design learning activities that integrate language use with cultural experiences in a developmentally appropriate manner.
