Abstract

One of the things that influences how well children develop their fine motor skills is their nutritional condition. Children who are malnourished can have impaired fine motor skills that are inappropriate for their age. The aim of this research is to find out the relationship between the fine motor development of preschool children in Margamukti Village and their nutritional status. This research method used a cross-sectional quantitative research design and a total sample technique was used in this research with a total of 48 respondents; The population was children attending Kenanga Kindergarten, Margamukti Village, aged between 36 and 72 months. The SDIDTK questionnaire sheet was used to measure fine motor development, while anthropometric measurements of body weight based on age were used to determine nutritional status. The research results showed that there was no relationship between the fine motor development of preschool children in Margamukti Village and their nutritional status. A p value of 0.532 > (0.05) was found in the Spearman Rank test. The research results show that there is no relationship between the fine motor development of preschool children in Margamukti Village and their nutritional status. A p value of 0.532 > (0.05) was found in the Spearman Rank test. These results indicate that nutritional status does not have a significant influence on fine motor development in pre-school children in Margamukti Village.

Abstract

The health problem of toddlers related to Acute Respiratory Infections (ARIs) in the working area of Pontang Community Health Center is quite high, reaching 4,000 cases. One of the dominant factors contributing to ARI cases in toddlers is believed to be closely related to the level of parental knowledge in caring for their children. Parents play a crucial role in understanding and implementing appropriate health measures, thereby minimizing the occurrence of ARIs in toddlers. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between parental knowledge of ARIs and ARI prevention efforts in toddlers in the Pontang Community Health Center area. This is a quantitative correlation study with a Cross-Sectional approach, with a sample size of 98 respondents. Sampling technique used is proportional random sampling method. The results of the Spearman-Rank statistical test yielded a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between parental knowledge of ARIs and ARI prevention efforts in toddlers. The better the parents' knowledge of ARIs, the more effective they are in monitoring their toddlers' daily activities, thereby reducing the risk of ARIs as parents can better anticipate potential health issues. Thus, it is hoped that parents of toddlers in the Pontang Community Health Center area can enhance their understanding of the importance of implementing ARI prevention measures to safeguard their children from the risk of ARIs.

Abstract

Research aims: This study explores the determinants of consumer boycott participation of pro-Israel products in Indonesia, a context in which political conflicts strongly shape consumption behavior. Design/Methodology/Approach: A quantitative descriptive method was used, data collection was conducted in 2024 using purposive sampling technique involving 230 respondents and used Structural Equation Modeling, specifically Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), to examine how religiosity, consumer animosity, and consumer affinity affect boycott actions. Research findings: The findings revealed that consumer animosity was the strongest predictor of boycott participation (β = 0.619, p < 0.001). In contrast, religiosity (β = –0.024, p = 0.641) and consumer affinity (β = 0.173, p = 0.090) did not have significant effects. The R-square of the boycott participation variable was 0. 558.The results highlight that socio-political emotions, especially animosity, influence boycott behavior more than religious beliefs. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study adds to the consumer behavior field by focusing on actual participation instead of just intentions, showcasing evidence from an emerging economy. Practitioners/Policy Implications: Socio-political content-based public awareness campaigns through social media and influencers, and providing databases or applications that contain a list of products affiliated with Israel, can be a practical strategy to build more consistent and impactful boycott participation. Research Limitations/Implications: This study is limited by the concentration of respondents in Java, which may not fully capture the diversity of consumer behavior across Indonesia. Future research should expand the sample to other regions to provide more representative insights.

Abstract

Abstract

Thalassemia major is a condition requiring lifelong routine blood transfusion therapy, in which family support plays a vital role in treatment adherence to maintain the child's quality of life. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family support and blood transfusion compliance levels among children with thalassemia major at Umar Wirahadikusumah Regional General Hospital. A quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The sample consisted of 50 respondents, including parents or guardians of children aged 7–18 years, selected using a total sampling technique. Variables included family support as the independent variable and blood transfusion compliance level as the dependent variable, measured via questionnaires. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Spearman Rank correlation test with a significance level of α = 0,05. The results indicated that the majority of respondents had good family support (98%), with blood transfusion compliance categorized as high (48%) and moderate (52%). The Spearman test showed no significant relationship between family support and blood transfusion compliance levels (p = 0,380; r = 0,127). In conclusion, good family support does not automatically guarantee high blood transfusion compliance levels in school-age children and adolescents, which may be influenced by factors beyond the scope of this study.
