Abstract

Phonological ability is a fundamental aspect of early childhood language development, closely linked to later literacy and communication skills. This study, titled "Phonological Ability of Early Childhood through Language-Based Play Activities at YLPI Riau Kindergarten," investigates the effectiveness of language-based play in enhancing phonological skills among young learners. The research is grounded in the understanding that play serves as a natural medium for language acquisition in early childhood education settings. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to explore how structured language-based play activities contribute to children's phonological development. The subjects of this study were children aged 4–5 years at YLPI Riau Kindergarten. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews with teachers, and documentation of children's play activities. Observations focused on children’s ability to recognize and manipulate sounds, including rhyming, syllable segmentation, and initial sound identification. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify patterns and themes related to phonological development during play. The analysis emphasized how specific types of language-based play—such as storytelling, rhyming games, sound matching, and singing—supported the development of phonological awareness in a playful and engaging context. The results revealed that language-based play activities significantly contributed to the improvement of children’s phonological abilities. Children showed increased awareness of sounds, improved pronunciation, and greater ability to distinguish phonemes. Teachers also played a key role by facilitating and scaffolding the play in ways that promoted language learning. In conclusion, language-based play activities are effective pedagogical tools for fostering phonological development in early childhood. The findings highlight the importance of integrating purposeful play in early education curricula to support foundational language skills in a developmentally appropriate manner

Abstract

The 2013 Curriculum is known to be more structured and oriented toward national standards, thus limiting teachers’ creativity in connecting learning with local social and cultural contexts. In contrast, the Merdeka Curriculum offers greater flexibility for schools and teachers to adapt learning to the needs of students and the characteristics of local culture. This study aims to analyze in depth the differences between the Merdeka Curriculum and the 2013 Curriculum in terms of social and cultural aspects at various educational levels. The method used is literature study and analysis of curriculum documents as well as previous research findings. The results show that the Merdeka Curriculum places greater emphasis on project-based learning, integration of local culture in every activity, and authentic assessment that evaluates both the process and outcomes as a whole. The Merdeka Curriculum is also considered effective in building character, social skills, and appreciation for local culture, while the 2013 Curriculum tends to place social and cultural aspects only in local content and formal activities. Thus, this study provides an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of both curricula and offers recommendations for more effective implementation of social and cultural learning in schools.

Abstract

Amisbudi, an art-based initiative under the Our Dream Indonesia Foundation, empowers neurodiverse youth, especially those with autism and Down syndrome, through painting and creative expression. This study addresses the limitations in Amisbudi’s current operations, including its overdependence on a single founder and the absence of a formalized business model. By proposing a Social Business Model Canvas (SBMC) and Social Return on Investment (SROI), this research aims to create a replicable and sustainable framework that enables community engagement, revenue diversification, and measurable social impact. The study adopts a mixed-method approach including stakeholder interviews, surveys, benchmarking, and internal-external analysis. Findings inform a strategic SBMC proposal the impactful data from SROI for Amisbudi, offering pathways for scale, partnership with CSR programs, and volunteer-driven expansion. This thesis contributes to the discourse on inclusive social entrepreneurship in Indonesia, particularly in the domain of art therapy for people with disabilities.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of relationships among Nusantara rulers through the lens of traditional Javanese historiography, including Nagarakertagama, Pararaton, and various Babad texts. Using a qualitative approach with a multidimensional analysis, this research explores how social, political, and religious dimensions were constructed to maintain regional stability and Javanese hegemony. The findings reveal that social relationships were built through "intimate geopolitics" via political marriages (consanguinity), which transformed political rivalry into kinship solidarity. In the political dimension, the "Cakrawala Mandala Nusantara" concept served as both a defensive strategy against external threats and a manifestation of cosmic sovereignty. Furthermore, the transition to the Islamic period shifted the paradigm of authority from caste-based structures to cosmopolitan intellectual-spiritual networks (ukhuwah). This study argues that the relationships between rulers in traditional historiography were not merely a history of conquest, but a continuous negotiation of identity aimed at building a cohesive regional order. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the historical roots of national integration in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of Indonesian language teaching modules specifically designed for students with dyslexia in inclusive schools. The study aims to design an effective teaching module that aligns with the learning characteristics of dyslexic students. It employs the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, this research was limited to the first three stages analysis, design, and development. The analysis stage involved identifying the needs and challenges faced by dyslexic students through interviews and observations. The design stage focused on creating the module based on analysis results and a review of effective learning methods. In the development stage, learning content was created using a multisensory approach and educational technology integration. The resulting module was developed by adapting the materials, methods, and media to be simpler, more interactive, and supportive of multisensory learning styles. Expert validation produced an Aiken’s V score of 0.85, indicating high validity and confirming that the module is suitable for use. This teaching module is considered effective in supporting inclusive education and serves as an innovative alternative to improve literacy skills among dyslexic students.
