Abstract

Juvenile offenders are aged between 12 and 18 years old and are in conflict with the law. Based on field findings, data showed that juvenile offenders have limited access to education in correctional institutions. Several factors contributing to this situation include: (1) a schedule that does not align with formal school hours; (2) limited facilities and resources for learning; and (3) inadequate educational backgrounds due to insufficient parental attention or financial constraints prior to entering the correctional facility. If not addressed promptly, this situation is expected to hinder their ability to adapt to society after leaving the correctional institution. This service aims to develop a special talent exploration model to enhance career maturity among juvenile offenders. The methods used consist of four main components: (1) interest and talent assessment; (2) career orientation psychoeducation; (3) career planning training; and (4) individual counseling on interests and talents. The results of the service show that the majority of juvenile offenders are better suited for simple and routine jobs. Further findings revealed that most of them have a practical and concrete way of thinking and a primary interest in three fields: social work, music/arts, and fieldwork.

Abstract

Educational management based on pedagogic principles is the key to creating an effective and quality learning environment. This study aims to examine the application of pedagogic principles in elementary school education management in Riau Province and identify the factors that influence it. The method used was a mixed method with 100 respondents from teachers and principals for quantitative data, and 15 informants for qualitative data through interviews. The results showed that pedagogic principles received high perception from respondents with an average score of 4.03 (Likert scale of 5), and the research instruments showed high reliability (α = 0.876). There was also a significant positive correlation between the application of pedagogic principles and the quality of school management (r = 0.614; p < 0.01). Qualitative data reveals that bureaucratic challenges are the main obstacles. The role of the principal as a pedagogic leader is essential in creating a collaborative and innovative climate. Strengthening leadership and simplifying bureaucracy needs to be prioritized so that pedagogic-based management runs effectively.

Abstract

Classical organizational theory represents an early systematic framework for understanding structure, authority, and managerial practices. Rooted in the industrial era, its core principlesrationality, hierarchy, specialization, and controlcontinue to influence organizational governance today. However, existing studies tend to focus on comparing classical theory with modern paradigms, with limited attention to how its assumptions persist and adapt within contemporary, value-laden organizational contexts, including educational institutions.This article presents a conceptual review that reexamines the contributions of classical thinkers and evaluates their continued relevance through a synthesis with modern theoretical developments. The analysis reveals both continuity and limitations, particularly in explaining informal dynamics and ethical complexity. Nevertheless, classical theory remains essential as a conceptual foundation for understanding authority, accountability, and institutional coherence.Thus, it serves as a reflective basis for analyzing educational governance, especially within the context of Islamic Educational Management, which is oriented toward values and knowledge
