Abstract

Wound often occur in daily activities. Cinnamon leaves are widely known to have pharmacological activity. The content of secondary metabolites in cinnamon leaves (Cinnamomum burmanii) is a support for development into pharmaceutical products in wound healing. The aims of this study was to determine the effect of gel preparation on hydroxydiproline levels in cases of Incisions. The research method is an experimental laboratory with a post test only control group design. The test animals used were 5 rabbits with 5 treatment groups, namely positive control (Bioplacenton®), negative control (Gel Base), Formula 1 (Gel Extract 2.5%), Formula 2 (Gel Extract 5%), and Formula 3 (Gel Extract 10%). The preparation was given topically on the back of the rabbit. Observations of hydroxyproline levels were carried out after 14 days of treatment. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the treatment groups (p<0.05) where the best formula was formula 2 with hydroxyproline levels of 44.13µg/mL which had an effectiveness close to positive control. Then followed by formula 3 and formula 1.

Abstract

Using of hand sanitizers is an important step in preventing the spread of the virus, but the proliferation of new hand sanitizers that do not meet standards demands that people choose wisely. The existence of a policy that the community may make their own hand sanitizers also needs to be balanced with an increase in people's understanding of how to make them correctly. Activity starting with coordination, preparation, implementation and evaluation through question and answer. This service was preceded by counseling about infectious diseases how to prevent them. One way to prevent it is washing hands properly. Firstly, choose soap, but if difficult to get water, a hand sanitizer is a solution. Furthermore, counseling about hand sanitizers in the form of selecting hand sanitizers according to standards, making hand sanitizers through video presentation and proper hand washing methods. Team makes hand sanitizers at the Biotechnology and Engineering Laboratory for the implementation of sterilization to labeling. The video shows the preparation stages in the form of sterilizing the equipment, measuring, mixing, filling, packaging and labeling. The community is given hand sanitizer samples as well so that people can see examples of hand sanitizer labels and important components that should be there. During the question and answer session, most of them answered correctly, were able to choose and understand hand sanitizer formulas meet standards requirement and knew how to wash their hands properly so that it was hoped that they could prevent diseases caused by viruses.

Abstract

Kombucha fermentation transforms complex organic compounds into beneficial substances such as polyphenols, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and probiotics. Gerga orange (Citrus x aurantium L.) peel, rich in bioactive compounds with antibacterial potential, is a promising substrate for kombucha fermentation. This study aimed to develop a fermented kombucha infusion from Gerga orange peel for use in an antibacterial peel-off gel mask and to assess the impact of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) concentrations (2%, 3%, and 4%) on the mask's properties. Extract preparation, organoleptic evaluation, total phenolic content (TPC) analysis, and gel mask formulation were conducted. Antibacterial activity was evaluated against Propionibacterium acnes using the well-diffusion method. Kombucha fermentation increased the TPC of Gerga orange peel infusion (26.53 mgGAE/g vs 25.77 mgGAE/g), imparted a fermentation aroma, and reduced pH from 4 to 2.7. HPMC concentration significantly influenced gel texture, spreadability, drying time, and pH, while color, aroma, and homogeneity remained unaffected. Antibacterial tests showed moderate activity for Formula 1 (2% HPMC; inhibition zone: 9.25 ± 0.35 mm). Stronger antibacterial effects were observed in Formulas 2 (3% HPMC; 13.93 ± 0.49 mm) and 3 (4% HPMC; 14.25 ± 0.71 mm). Kombucha fermentation of Gerga orange peel offers an innovative method for creating antibacterial gel masks. Higher HPMC concentrations improve antibacterial efficacy and physical properties, demonstrating potential against Propionibacterium acnes.

Abstract

Penggunaan tanaman sebagai obat tradisional masih cukup populer karena tidak menimbulkan efek samping. Kewirausahaan farmasi merupakan kegiatan kewirausahaan yang terkait dengan sektor farmasi, termasuk produk herbal. Profesi apoteker merupakan bidang profesi yang berkaitan dengan obat, baik obat sintetik maupun obat alami. Pembuatan produk herbal merupakan salah satu kegiatan alternatif yang memperkenalkan profesi apoteker kepada masyarakat. Rumah Cahaya merupakan salah satu tempat dimana terdapat tempat tinggal bagi anak yatim dan masyarakat berpendapatan rendah. Lokasinya di Jl. Raden Wijaya, Rt. 035 Thehok, Kabupaten Jambi Selatan. Rumah ini dipilih menjadi sasaran kegiatan karena banyak anak-anak dan masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah yang beraktivitas di sana. Diharapkan dengan kegiatan ini dapat memberikan pengetahuan baru kepada mereka dalam membuat produk dan mengenal lebih dekat profesi apoteker. Metode kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan dalam empat tahap: 1. Koordinasi kegiatan atau izin kegiatan dengan pimpinan yayasan; 2. Persiapan kegiatan; 3. Pelaksanaan kegiatan; dan 4. Evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 32 siswa SD, SMP, dan SMA. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan anak yang mengikuti kegiatan, dari 67,8% sebelum kegiatan menjadi 98,2% setelah kegiatan.

Abstract

Provinsi jambi merupakan salah satu wilayah yang paling banyak ditempati oleh Suku Anak Dalam (SAD). Pelempang, kabupaten muaro jambi merupakan salah satu daerah yang berada didesa/kelurahan Mestong Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Jarak mereka yang cukup jauh dari lingkungan luar membuat mereka hidup lebih memanfaatkan bahan alam sebagai sarana pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup mulai dari makanan hingga untuk medis. Penyakit degenerative merupakan jenis penyakit tidak menular. Penyakit ini muncul akibat adanya penurunan fungsi dari sel dan organ-organ tubuh secara alami karena proses penuaan. Selain itu factor lainnya seperti gaya hidup dan pola makan yang tidak sehat. Sehingga akan mempengaruhi kualitas hidup seseorang bahkan dapat menyebabkan penderita menghadapi perawatan penyakit dalam jangka Panjang. Minimnya akses informasi dan pengetahuan juga akan mempengaruhi kualitas hidup penderita penyakit degenerative. kegiatan skrining penyakit degeneratif menjadi poin penting bagi masyarakat SAD sebagai upaya untuk sadar penyakit degeneratif sejak dini dan tindakan apa yang harus dilakukan dalam pencegahannya. Selain itu juga akan dilakukan kegiatan transfer ilmu pengetahuan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah menjadi salah satu tindakan preventif dalam memberikan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang penyakit degeneratif sehingga derajat kesehatan masyarakat akan menjadi meningkat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat SAD tentang penyakit degeneratif sebesar 98,3%.

Abstract

Background: Preparation for self-isolation needs to be prepared with the aim of minimizing the spread of COVID-19 infection, which includes masks, hand sanitizer, oxygen, disinfectants, and others. The demand for multivitamins related to self-isolation needs at Pharmacy X based on observations during the research has fluctuated. For this reason, this research was created to find out the picture of fluctuations/ups and downs in sales of multivitamins and the need for self-isolation for COVID-19 at Pharmacy X, based on observations from January-October 2021. Methods: The method used is the observation method through invoice data for the procurement of multivitamin supplies and self-isolation requirements for each of the 5 multivitamin samples and 5 samples for self-isolation requirements whose demand level is the highest compared to the others. Results: The results obtained from the observation data were fluctuations in sales of multivitamins and the need for COVID-19 self-isolation at Pharmacy X. Conclusion: There has been an increase in sales of multivitamins and the need for self-isolation at Pharmacy X in July 2021 due to the peak incidence of positive cases of Covid-19 infection in Jambi Province while in August-October 2021 it experienced a decline. Abstract

Palm trees is one plantation commodities important in development sub the plantation sector, among others to meet the needs of domestic, and as a commodity export foreign exchange producing countries. Cream sunscreen is made with an emulsion phase (VCO, lanolin, stearic acid and cetyl alcohol) and aqueous phase (triethanolamine, glycerin, aquadest). TiO2 was added with various concentrations of F0 (0%), F1 (5%), F2 (10%), and F3 (15%). The research vco oil colorless and odorless typical fresh coconut. Produce the centrifugation does not happen the separation between the oil and the water pH value the range of 6.87-7.63; viscosity and range of cp 12400-21600; SPF value at F0 (0.189); F1 (2.857); F2 (4.252); F3 (6.154). Of the value of the two of them have met the standards according to the SPF concentration F2 and F3.

Abstract

Hyperuricemia is a condition of abnormal health hence increasing urid acid level within blood that is up in normal value spesificaly for man is over 7,0 mg/dL and for woman is over 6,0 mg/dL. Ekor naga leaves (Rhaphidophora pinnata L.f.) have some second metabolic compound namely flavonoid and alkaloid that have a capability to hampering xhantine oxidase enzyme. The objective of this reseach is to know the effectiveness giving ethanol extract of ekor naga leaves for decreasing urid acid level and to know the effectiveness dose ethanol extract of ekor naga leaves for decreasing uric acid level. The sample of this reseach was ethanol extract of ekor naga leaves, allopurinol as positive control, chicken liver juice and potassium oxonate as inductioun of hyperuricemia. The design of this research is complete random design with 5 action where in one action consist of 5 mice. The group of action was K+ Allopurinol 0,26mg/kgBB, P1 extract 125mg/kgBB, P2 extract 250mg/kgBB, and P3 extract 375mg/kgBB. The best dose is dose II (250mg/kgBB) with percentage of decreasing uric acid is 45,22%. Than dose III (375 mg/kgBB) with perfentage of dereasing urid acid is 44,66%, and dose I (125 mg/kgBB) with percentage of the decreasing uric acid is 39,60%. Moreover, it can be concluded that all dose of ethanol extract ekor naga leaves have an activity as antyhiperuricemia.

Abstract

Indonesia, sebagai negara dengan iklim tropis, sering menghadapi masalah bau badan akibat keringat berlebih, yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas bakteri seperti Staphylococcus. Ekstrak daun kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) diketahui memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti zat antibakteri sintetis pada sediaan deodoran. Tetapi, penambahan ekstrak pada sediaan deodoran serbuk berisiko meningkatkan kadar air sediaan, yang dapat menurunkan kualitas sediaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penambahan ekstrak daun kelapa sawit dapat mempengaruhi kadar air sediaan deodoran serbuk. Metode: penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan melakukan pengukuran kadar air menggunakan metode gravimetri yaitu dengan mengeringkan sampel pada suhu 50oC hingga bobot konstan. Hasil dan Pembahasan: kadar air sediaan deodoran serbuk dengan ekstrak daun kelapa sawit F0 tanpa ekstrak daun kelapa sawit, F1 (1,5%), F2 (3%), F3 (4,5%) berturut-turut adalah adalah 0,13%, 0,4%, 0,73% dan 1,13% telah memenuhi syarat kadar air sebuk yang baik. Kesimpulan: semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak maka semakin besar pula kadar air sediaan serbuk. Kata Kunci: Kadar air, serbuk, deodoran, daun kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)

Abstract

Daun ekor naga merupakan tanaman herbal yang sangat banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai tanaman hias dan terapi penyakit. Adanya kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder membuktikan bahwa tanaman ini memiliki kandungan senyawa fenol total dan flavonoid total. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memastikan kandungan senyawa fenol total dan flavonoid total yang memiliki potensi dalam aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas yang kuat. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan pelarut etanol 70% untuk proses maserasi. Pengujian diukur menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis hasil flavonoid total yang didapat dinyatakan dalam mgQE/g Sampel dan fenol total dinyatakan dalam mg GAE/g sampel. ekstrak etanol 70% daun ekor naga memiliki kandungan senyawa fenol total sebesar 23,84 mg GAE/gram sampel dan flavonoid total sebesar 9,75 mg QE/gram sampel.Kata Kunci : Daun Ekor Naga, Fenol, Flavonoid, Spektrofotometer Uv-Vis
