Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of shooting drill training on improving shooting accuracy of athletes from the Student Coordination Board of the Faculty of Sport Science (BKMF) Basketball, Makassar State University (UNM). The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 12 main male athletes of BKMF UNM as participants. The research instruments included video observation of shooting motion analysis, in-depth interviews with coaches and athletes, documentation of pre- and post-training shooting accuracy data, and field notes from 12 training sessions over 6 weeks. The research procedure included a shooting accuracy pretest (mid-range jump shot 10 shots per athlete), shooting drill training intervention (3 sessions/week, 60-90 minutes/session with 75-100 repetitions), and a shooting accuracy posttest. Data analysis used triangulation of sources and methods with thematic analysis techniques. The results showed an average increase in shooting accuracy of 28.5% from 62.3% (pre) to 80.8% (post), with individual variation of 22-36%. Key themes included improved consistency of follow-through movements (85% of athletes), increased muscle memory (92% of athletes), and reduced variability in throwing angles (standard deviation reduced by 12.4°). Identified challenges included fatigue with repetitions of more than 75 shots and the need for individual visual feedback. The study concluded that shooting drills effectively improved shooting accuracy among BKMF UNM athletes by strengthening automatic movement patterns and technical consistency, with recommendations for optimizing training volume and integrating feedback technology for maximum results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of basic basketball technical skills (dribble, passing, and shooting) in PERBASI Makassar City athletes using the Johnson Basic Basketball Skills Test. The quantitative descriptive research method involved 20 senior male athletes (aged 18-25 years) from the PERBASI Makassar main team as purposively selected participants. The test instruments included: dribble test (zig-zag 10x), passing test (wall pass 30 seconds), and shooting test (self-pass field goal 30 seconds). The testing procedure was carried out at the PERBASI Makassar basketball court in October 2025 with 2 trials per test, the average value was taken for analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, SD, skill category). The results showed an average dribble of 8.45 seconds (good category), passing 28.2 throws (very good category), and shooting 12.3 successful shots (sufficient category). Overall, the athletes' basic technical skills were in the good category (composite score 79.6%), with strength in passing and weakness in shooting. High individual variation in shooting (CV=18.4%) indicates inconsistent shooting accuracy. The study concluded that PERBASI Makassar athletes have good general mastery of basic techniques, but require specific strengthening of shooting accuracy to increase competitiveness at the national level.

Abstract

The Berbak Delta in Jambi Province, Indonesia, underwent large-scale peatland reclamation in the 1970s as part of a transmigration program to develop rice fields. Initially, rice production averaged 3–4 tons/ha but declined to less than 1 Mg ha-1 due to the conversion of peat soils into acid sulfate soils. This decline was attributed to soil acidification from pyrite oxidation, which lowered soil pH. Currently, rice cultivation persists in areas near rivers influenced by tidal brackish water. In response to declining yields, a technological package for acid sulfate soil management was introduced, including canal water management, pH improvement, and fertilizer application. It increased rice yields to over 5 Mg ha-1 in a 100-ha pilot project in 2005. However, by 2008, farmers began shifting to oil palm plantations due to higher income potential. This study examines land-use change from rice fields to oil palm plantations and its impact on the livelihoods of communities in the Berbak Delta. Land cover change analysis from 2013 to 2023 revealed a decrease in rice fields from 58.30% to 25.79% and an increase in oil palm plantations from 15.37% to 55.70%. Oil palm cultivation has demonstrated sustainability on reclaimed acid sulfate soils, leading to economic prosperity through improved infrastructure and housing, as well as increased private vehicle ownership.

Abstract

Abstract

Corporate bankruptcy is a legal condition that directly affects the continuity of employment relationships between employers and workers/laborers. In practice, workers often find themselves in a weak position when a company is declared bankrupt, particularly regarding the fulfillment of normative rights such as wages, severance pay, and employment social security. Although statutory regulations grant workers a special status as preferred creditors, the implementation of these rights frequently encounters various legal and administrative obstacles. This situation creates legal uncertainty and potential injustice for workers/laborers. This study aims to analyze the legal protection of workers’ rights in companies declared bankrupt, as well as the legal standing of workers in bankruptcy proceedings under the applicable laws and regulations. The research method used is normative juridical research with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The findings show that although workers are positioned as preferred creditors, in practice workers’ rights are often not optimally fulfilled due to conflicts of interest with other creditors and the limited value of the bankruptcy estate. Therefore, stronger regulations and consistent law enforcement are needed to ensure fair protection of workers’ rights.

Abstract

The investigates the influence of NaCl salinity (0–32,000 ppm) on the performance of Alkyl Ethoxy Carboxylate (AEC) anionic surfactants for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), using light crude oil as a model. Salinity fundamentally affects the system's Interfacial Tension (IFT), phase behavior, solubilization, and microemulsion rheology. The objectives were to map these effects and determine the optimal operational salinity and surfactant working concentration. The working concentration of 1.75% w/w was established above the Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC), determined from the breakpoint of the IFT curve versus log AEC concentration. IFT was precisely measured using a spinning-drop tensiometer. Phase behavior was characterized via a salinity scan to map the Winsor I–III–II transition, and the solubilization ratio was calculated from the equilibrium volume of the middle phase. Microemulsion viscosity was measured using a Brookfield DV3T viscometer with a stepwise shear protocol. The key results showed that an optimum salinity window produced ultra-low IFT, led to the formation of Winsor III microemulsions with a balanced oil/water solubilization ratio, and caused a viscosity peak that coincided with the Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Difference (HLD) ≈ 0 conditions. The microemulsions exhibited characteristic shear-thinning behavior across the tested shear rates. Salinity systematically controls the key physicochemical properties of the AEC–crude oil system. The findings provide: selecting the working concentration based on the CMC test and choosing the salinity at HLD ≈ 0 maximize residual oil mobilization while minimizing phase instability risks. Operational implications include precise brine selection, surfactant dosage control, and adaptive staged slug injection strategies.
