Abstract

This study examines the language formulation of identity, emotion, and gender in five commercially and culturally significant songs by the American pop-rock band Maroon 5: "This Love," "She Will Be Loved," "Moves Like Jagger," "Sugar," and "One More Night." The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on stylistic analysis, metaphor theory, and gender discourse frameworks. The objective is to elucidate how language in popular music lyrics serves as a mechanism for shaping emotional expression and negotiating social identities. The findings indicate that identity is formed through personal pronouns, emotional contrasts, and metaphorical allusions, illustrating fluctuating roles of dominance and vulnerability. The Circumplex Model of Emotions (Troiano et al., 2022) analyzes emotional expression, uncovering patterns of high arousal, encompassing both positive (desire, lust) and negative (regret, heartbreak) emotions. Gender roles are depicted dynamically, fluctuating between conventional masculinity and emotionally expressive male identities. Lyrics like “Look into my eyes and I’ll own you” and “You pick up my broken pieces” illustrate both the reinforcement and transgression of patriarchal norms. The study presents two innovative conceptual contributions: emotional ambidexterity, the simultaneous presence of conflicting emotional states inside individual lyrical tales, and intra-discursive gender shifts, which characterize gender representation as fluid and multifaceted rather than static. These findings enhance the domains of language stylistics and popular culture studies by demonstrating how modern lyrics influence the formation of gendered and emotional identities inside the digital music environment. Abstract

Building construction projects often face major challenges related to time management and cost allocation. Cost overruns occur as a result of schedule delays or poor time planning. Managing time well can help reduce cost overruns and improve operational efficiency in construction projects. Project delays often cause additional costs or cost overruns, either due to the use of additional resources or due to the impact of delays on other factors. To determine the magnitude of the influence of Project Performance in Infrastructure Development, the variance extraced for time is 0.646, quality 0.867, budget 0.918, and infrastructure development 0.726, it can be concluded that too much budget is needed to meet rapid development. This cost overrun often has a significant impact on project success, both in terms of finance and the quality of the final result. This occurs due to project delays, which are caused by ineffective time management. In the construction industry, time and cost are two very important and interrelated factors.

Abstract

The crime of money laundering does not stand alone because the assets placed, transferred, or diverted by way of integration were obtained from the crime, meaning that there was already another crime that preceded it (predicate crime). There are 26 (twenty-six) types of predicate crimes obtained from the proceeds of money laundering crimes as stipulated in Article 2 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 8 of 2010. Basically, these activities consist of three steps, each of which stands alone but is often done together, namely placement, layering, and integration. Moreover, the crime of money laundering is closely related to financial, economic, banking, investment, juridical issues, and even social and political issues that have national and even global impacts as found in the case with Decision Number 46/Pid.Sus/2021/Pn. Srg.The research method used in this study is a normative juridical research method using a statutory approach. Based on the results of the research, it can be seen that the juridical construction is considered by the judge in deciding case number 46/Pid.Sus/2021/Pn. Srg namely by paying attention to the elements contained in the articles used by the public prosecutor in the indictment. When viewed based on legal principles, the application of these articles is appropriate for the crimes committed by the defendants, but based on the principle of justice, the decisions issued by the Panel of Judges are deemed not to be able to fulfill a sense of justice, because the victims do not receive complete compensation in accordance with with the losses they suffered, as well as the confiscation of evidence of economic value, it was felt that they did not fulfill a sense of justice because the state in this case did not suffer any losses.

Abstract

Feed is the most important factor in supporting the growth of tilapia fish production. Soybean meal is recognized as a cost-effective alternative protein source to replace costly fish meal in aquaculture. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the growth performance of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fed a diet optimized with US soybean meal compared to an available commercial tilapia diet in fish farming in Lake Toba, North Sumatra. Two experimental diets were used including commercial feed as a control and feed with optimized US Soybean meal with three replications. The experimental diets were given two times a day. After 240 days of feeding, data from the study were analyzed using independent samples T-test on the Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) software version 25.0. The Survival Rate (SR), Average Body Weight (ABW), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), and the harvested biomass of tilapia on the feed with US Soy were 64.2%, 1262.2 g, 1.76, and 244.144 kg, respectively.  There was no significant effect (P > 0.05) on the SR (Survival rate), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), ADG (Average Daily Growth), and final ABW (Average Body Weight) in both the experimental diets. However, the harvested biomass of tilapia, fed with feed-optimized US soybean meal was better than control. An important finding of this research is the potential of optimizing US soybean meal in aquafeed to increase the growth of tilapia farming.

Abstract

The rule of law concept that has developed in Indonesia is a modern rule of law concept that has a distinctive feature compared to the concept of a rule of law state that developed before. However, in the development process, it is difficult to escape from the sparks of thinking about the concepts of "the rule of law" and "rechtsstaat". The ideal Indonesian legal state concept has the following characteristics: The administration of the state and government is always based on the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. The state places the constitution, laws and statutory regulations as guidelines that must be obeyed in every life; The principle of legality is the main thing that must be guided by state and government administrators. Making law a means of realizing a welfare state and a democratic state; "The state recognizes and operates a power-sharing system and has checks and balances with each other." There is an independent and impartial judiciary that guarantees justice for everyone, including against abuse of authority by those in power; There is protection of Human Rights that is in balance with the obligations of Human Principles; The existence of democratic principles in the life of society, nation and state; There is a balance, harmony and harmony between rights and obligations; Recognition and realization of the principle of "good governance": realization of justice, order, legal certainty, benefit, welfare, and happiness for every citizen.

Abstract

Penal mediation is carried out to bring together criminal offenders and victims, so this penal mediation is often also known as "Victim Offender Mediation" (VOM). In Indonesia itself, the use of mediation can be seen in Law No. 30 of 1999 concerning Arbitration and Dispute Resolution. Settlement of cases through mediation is in line with the concept of local wisdom that lives in Indonesian society. The noble values contained in the Pancasila state foundation fade with the times and technology; the values contained therein, such as divinity, justice, decency, harmony, unity, humanity, and mutual cooperation, are no longer reflected in the lives of the nation, state, and society. Society is also included in the formulation of legal products. Penal mediation is less well known among Indonesians. In mediation, the urgency is the value of Pancasila in the settlement of criminal cases in Indonesia, which is the community's need for a progressive, humane criminal dispute settlement that provides a sense of justice for victims, society, and perpetrators, which cannot be carried out by national criminal law. The local wisdom of people in various regions of Indonesia in the settlement of criminal disputes based on deliberation and consensus (mediation) as local institutions has not been utilized optimally in answering this problem. The formation of law in Indonesia is based on historical aspects and is in accordance with the conditions and circumstances of the people. In mediation, it requires the involvement of all stakeholders in solving criminal acts through mediation based on local wisdom using impartial or neutral media and mediators.
