Abstract

ABSTRAK Sanitasi dan higiene yang kurang baik dapat menimbulkan berbagai masalah kesehatan pada balita, ditandai dengan masih tingginya kejadian penyakit infeksi pada anak. Salah satu penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh kondisi sanitasi yang kurang baik adalah diare, infeksi saluran pernafasan akut dan kecacingan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu upaya untuk menekan kejadian tersebut, yaitu melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui pendidikan atau penyuluhan kesehatan. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu tentang perilaku sanitasi sebagai upaya pencegahan penyakit infeksi pada balita. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Posyandu Mawar II dengan menggunakan metode ceramah. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah 41 orang ibu di Posyandu. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ditemukan adanya perubahan rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan ibu sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan. Kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan ini merupakan salah satu upaya pemecahan masalah pasangan. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan akan memberikan dampak lebih lanjut terhadap perubahan perilaku individu dan peningkatan derajat kesehatan masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Sanitasi, Penyakit Infeksi, Pendidikan Kesehatan  ABSTRACT Inadequate sanitation and hygiene can cause various health problems for toddlers, indicated by the high incidence of infectious diseases in children. One of the infectious diseases caused by poor sanitation conditions is diarrhea, acute respiratory infection and worms. Therefore, an effort is needed to reduce these incidents, through community service activities through health education or counselling.The purpose of this community service activity is to increase mothers' knowledge about the sanitation behaviour as an effort to prevent infectious diseases in toddlers. This community service activity was carried out at Posyandu Mawar II using the lecture method. The target of this activity was 41 mothers at Posyandu.The results of this community service found that a change in the average of the mother's knowledge level before and after the counseling was given. This health education activity is an effort to solve partner problems. Therefore, it is expected that the improve of knowledge level will have a further impact on changes in individual behavior and an increase in the health status of the community Keywords: Sanitation, Infectious Disease, Health Education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Pır Le Maker application on student learning outcomes in listening to news text material in class XI. This study uses a pre-experimental design method, one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used by the researcher is purposive sampling. The number of samples used is 30 students. Data collection techniques using interviews, tests, documentation, Data analysis techniques for this study: validity test, reliability test, normality test and paired sample t-test. The research instrument is an essay test of 20 questions. Based on the results of the study and data analysis, the ability to listen to news texts of students in class XI before using the puzzle maker media or pretest has an average of 67.86 Then after using the puzzle maker media or posttest there is an increase with an average of 83.23 Based on the paired sample test 1 test shows a sig value level (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 with the results of the hypothesis Ho rejected and H, accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the puzzle maker application has a positive influence on student learning outcomes in listening to news text material. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for teachers and curriculum developers in integrating interactive and interesting learning technology in the learning process.

Abstract

Anemia is a common health problem worldwide, particularly among adolescent girls. This group is at high risk of anemia due to menstruation during adolescence, which leads to blood loss. Additionally, the increased need for iron in adolescent girls contributes to their vulnerability to anemia. Education about anemia and its prevention, as well as supplementation with iron tablets, is one solution to prevent and reduce the prevalence of anemia in females. Pesisir Selatan, a district in West Sumatra Province, recorded an increase in anemia prevalence in 2019. Based on this, it is necessary to provide education on anemia and its prevention to adolescent girls in the region. This counseling activity aimed to improve the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls regarding anemia. The activity consisted of pre-tests, counseling sessions, and post-tests. Counseling was conducted using lecture methods and interactive discussions with participants. Based on the evaluation of pre-test and post-test results, it was found that the counseling method was effective in increasing participants' knowledge. This was evidenced by a significant increase in participants' knowledge about anemia (p=0.004). The number of participants with good knowledge increased from 3 individuals (13.6%) to 7 individuals (31.8%), and none of the participants had poor knowledge after the counseling session. However, it was found that the counseling method did not significantly improve participants' attitudes towards anemia. In conclusion, although it did not affect participants' attitudes, the counseling method effectively enhanced their knowledge about anemia and is expected to help prevent anemia among adolescent girls

Abstract

Stunting is a major child health issue caused by chronic malnutrition and negatively affects children’s growth and development. One key risk factor is the lack of maternal knowledge regarding nutrition, childcare, and stunting prevention. This community engagement program aimed to enhance mothers' understanding of stunting prevention through an interactive educational module. The activity was conducted on December 24, 2024, at Posyandu Beringin 2, Sukawali Village, Tangerang Regency, involving 46 mothers of children aged 1–5 years and 5 health cadres. The method included needs assessment, development of contextual educational materials, and implementation of education and MPASI (complementary feeding) preparation demonstrations. The results indicated a significant improvement in mothers’ knowledge post-intervention. Most children had normal nutritional status, though some were at risk of stunting, indicating the need for follow-up. This program demonstrated that the use of educational modules and the active involvement of community health cadres are effective in increasing maternal awareness about the importance of nutrition during the first 1000 days of life. In conclusion, strengthening mothers’ roles through community-based education is an effective and sustainable strategy for stunting prevention.

Abstract

Era Society 5.0 menghadirkan paradigma baru dalam dunia pendidikan, di mana teknologi canggih dan inovasi berbasis manusia membentuk lingkungan pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif. Maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis karakteristik dan etika profesi guru yang diperlukan dalam era Society 5.0. Metode penelitian adalah library research, mengumpulkan data dan informasi dari berbagai sumber literatur yang relevan, seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, artikel, serta dokumen lainnya yang berkaitan dengan kata kunci “etika profesi guru” Kompetensi guru Era Society 5.0”. Selanjutnya klasifikasi dan analisis isi dari data yang diperoleh, serta penarikan kesimpulan dari hasil sintesis berbagai sumber yang telah dianalisis.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di era Society 5.0 harus memiliki literasi digital, kemampuan beradaptasi, kreativitas, berpikir kritis, dan pengetahuan interdisipliner. Mereka diharapkan mampu mengintegrasikan, big data, dan Internet of Things (IoT) dalam proses pembelajaran dengan tetap mempertahankan pendekatan yang berpusat pada manusia. Karena peran guru dalam era Society 5.0 tidak hanya terbatas pada pengajaran, tetapi juga mencakup mentoring dan pembinaan etika. Untuk mencapai hal ini, diperlukan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan, pelatihan etika, dan kemampuan beradaptasi terhadap perubahan teknologi. Dengan menggabungkan inovasi dan prinsip etika, guru dapat menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang holistik serta mempersiapkan peserta didik menghadapi tantangan dunia modern.

Abstract

Background: Cancer is a common health burden among children. Uncontrolled metastases of cancer cells produce various clinical manifestations in children that impact their quality of life. Objective: This study aims to determine the description of the quality of life which includes physical function, emotional function, social function, and school function in children with cancer undergoing treatment at RSAB Harapan Kita Jakarta. Method: This cohort study was conducted among 28 inpatient cancer children in RSAB Harapan Kita Jakarta. PedsQol 4.0 was used to assess the quality of life level among children in 7 days of follow-up during their hospital stay. We assessed the mean differences in 7 days follow-up using Repeated Measure ANOVA. Result: This study found that the highest score of quality of life domain was on social function on the 5 day (mean= 19.57, SD=1.069) and the lowest score was on school function (mean=13.57, SD=2.911). There were no significant differences in scores of quality of life domains including physical (p-value = 0.828) and emotional function (p-value = 0.081), whereas, only social (p-value= 0.002) and school function (p-value= 0.008) was significantly changed in day 7 follow-up. Conclusion: Nursing intervention improve quality of life among children with cancer was essential that may support children’s growth and development according their age. Recommendation: Nurse need to consider the component of quality of life in providing the management among children with cancer

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of cancer is continuously increasing every year. Cancer treatment has a long duration, that side effects in children impact their quality of life. Therefore, family support is needed to improve the quality of life in children. Objective: This study aimed to find a correlation between supporting the family on the quality of life of children with cancer. Method: The method of this study was a cohort study with seven days of follow-up of the respondent. The sample accounted for 28 children hospitalized in Anggrek Ward and Outpatient Hemato-Oncology from June-August 2022 and collected data using PedsQL 4.0 Generic Core Scales Questionnaire and family support questionnaire. Result: The result was a significant correlation between family support and quality of life in children with cancer during seven days of follow-up (p<0.005) with a positive correlation. This study also found that the social function had a higher and lower mean value than the school function. Conclusion: The higher the family support, the better the quality of life for children. Recommendation: the family is always expected to attend to the child during the hospital, hospice, or home treatment

Abstract

Introduction: Delay development is a crucial problem in the early childhood period. An effective parental program is an essential strategy to prevent and manage delayed development. However, limited number studies described how parental integrated to prevent and manage delay development systematically. This review aims to describe developmental delays and explore strategies for their prevention and management in early childhood. Method: A total of 1,237 articles were extracted from four databases including, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, using suitable keywords as; "parenting-based program," "delay development," "early childhood," and "parenting style." The appraisal of the systematic review was based on the PRISMA format. Result: This review described four domains of developmental delays among childhood, such as physical, cognitive, language and social, and emotional development. There were nine tools for early childhood developmental screening. The effective parental program focused on the problem-solving, positive parent-child relationship, quality of communication, coaching the child, and stimulating the home learning environment. Conclusion: Effective management suggested positive of the parental program on improvement of child development and child behaviors and improvement of antisocial personality. From the findings, healthcare providers should promote a parental-based program to prevent and manage the delayed development of the early childhood period.

Abstract

Introduction. Vitamin D deficiency, commonly observed during pregnancy, can affect fetal growth, which can be evaluated by birth weight. Vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy is anticipated to beneficially affect birth weight, a crucial factor for neonatal health and long-term health outcomes. Methods. This research was conducted using an in vivo experimental design on Rattus norvegicus rats as animal models. This study involved 24 rat pups from four groups of pregnant rats, each provided with standard feed and varying doses of vitamin D supplementation: Group A received 62 IU/kgBW, Group B received 415 IU/kgBW, Group C received 663 IU/kgBW, and Group D received no vitamin D supplementation. Vitamin D supplementation was provided through oral gavage from the first day of gestation until parturition. At the time of delivery, six pups from each group were randomly chosen to measure their birth weights. Results. The finding from this research indicated that vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy positively influenced birth weight (p<0.001). The birth weights of pups in Group C were significantly higher compared to those in group D (p<0.001) and Group A (p<0.001). Pups in Group B also had significantly higher birth weights compared to Group D (p=0.002) and Group A (p=0.006). Conclusion. Based on these findings it can be concluded that vitamin D supplementation at doses 415 IU/kgBW and 663 IU/kgBW can increase birth weight.
