Abstract

The Sharia Business Unit (UUS) at Regional Development Banks (BPD) plays a strategic role in the development of Islamic banking in Indonesia. However, its contribution to assets, Third Party Funds, and financing remains limited despite the implementation of the Dual Banking Leverage Model (DBLM). This study aims to identify problems, solutions, and priority strategies in optimizing DBLM at UUS BPD within the framework of a dual banking system. The method used is a qualitative-quantitative approach with the Analytical Network Process (ANP), involving experts from academics, regulators, and practitioners. The results show that optimizing DBLM is a strategic and institutional issue, with the main priority being strengthening management commitment and governance, followed by improving the quality of human resources, literacy and communication, product innovation, harmonization of customer expectations, and external synergy. This study produces a DBLM optimization model based on strengthening corporate policies, aligning incentives and competencies, and integrating the values of maqashid sharia. These findings contribute as a strategic reference for BPDs and regulators in strengthening UUS performance in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze market efficiency and the transmission of micro-volatility between the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) and the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) using high-frequency data from September 22 to October 20, 2025. The primary objective is to evaluate the volatility of returns, co-movement, microstructure volatility clustering, and the buffering effect of Sharia-compliant indices. Methods: The study uses logarithmic continuous returns to assess return volatility and co-movement. Descriptive statistics are employed to examine market fluctuations, while the volatility clustering effect and rapid shock transmission between the two indices are analyzed. Pre-test and post-test evaluations, along with observational analysis, are used to examine the relationship and behavior of these indices during the study period. Results: The findings reveal that both IHSG and JII exhibit significant short-term fluctuations, indicative of typical micro-volatility in emerging markets. However, JII shows relatively lower volatility and fewer extreme negative returns, suggesting that Sharia screening provides a stabilizing effect on the market. The study also identifies a strong co-movement between the two indices, highlighting high short-term integration despite brief divergences due to differences in index structure and liquidity profiles. Additionally, the analysis confirms volatility clustering, with calm periods followed by sharp movements, and rapid shock transmission between the indices.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation in safeguarding financial stability and its implications for Indonesia’s export–import performance. While deposit insurance schemes are primarily designed to maintain confidence in the banking system, their broader macroeconomic effects particularly on international trade remain underexplored. This research addresses this gap by analyzing the transmission mechanism from deposit insurance policy to trade performance through financial stability channels. Using a Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR) framework, the study employs five key variables: the guaranteed interest rate set by the deposit insurance authority as a proxy for deposit insurance policy, the non-performing loan ratio as an indicator of banking sector stability, the policy interest rate, the exchange rate, and export performance. Quarterly time-series data for Indonesia are utilized to capture dynamic interactions and structural shocks among policy, financial, and real-sector variables. The impulse response analysis reveals that shocks to deposit insurance policy contribute to improvements in banking stability, reflected in lower non-performing loan ratios, which subsequently support export performance over the medium term. These findings suggest that deposit insurance institutions play a broader macroeconomic role beyond financial safety nets, indirectly fostering trade performance by enhancing financial system resilience. The study provides important policy insights by highlighting the strategic contribution of deposit insurance to financial stability and international trade, reinforcing the need for coordinated financial and trade policies in emerging economies.

Abstract

Indonesia's large Muslim population and the increasing demand for aqiqah goats. To ensure that goats are slaughtered according to Islamic law, JULEHA is needed. JULEHA certification is crucial because it provides assurance to consumers that the meat they consume has been slaughtered according to halal standards. The importance of JULEHA certification in the aqiqah goat slaughtering business aims to ensure that the slaughtering process is in accordance with Islamic law and supports business sustainability and guarantees that the goat meat has been processed according to halal standards. JULEHA certification can improve product quality, maintain halal standards, and increase consumer trust in aqiqah goat sales outlets. The sale of aqiqah goats is also required to comply with the principles of fairness and transparency, namely by using a kilo weighing system by multiplying the live weight of the goat by the agreed price per kilogram. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding of the importance of JULEHA certification and weighing system by aqiqah goat sales businesses. The author employed field research with a qualitative approach to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of JULEHA certification and the weighing system for the sale of akikah goats. The data sources used in this study were primary and secondary. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation in Asahan Regency. The results indicate that JULEHA certification and the weighing system for the sale of akikah goats can increase sales, consumer confidence, and support business sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the influence of accounting and marketing digitalization on the financial performance of digital banks in Indonesia, a sector that has grown rapidly in response to technological advancements. Although technologies such as eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) have been widely adopted, their individual impacts on financial performance remain unclear. This research aims to determine the effects of XBRL and CRM, both individually and simultaneously, on Return on Assets (ROA) as a measure of financial performance. Using a quantitative approach, the study employs multiple linear regression analysis based on secondary data collected from the annual reports of 32 digital banks registered in Indonesia. The findings show that XBRL does not significantly affect ROA, as indicated by low correlation and regression coefficients with significance values above 0.05. Moreover, CRM does not have a significant impact when assessed partially, although strong correlations with ROA are observed. However, when analyzed together, XBRL and CRM show a significant simultaneous effect on ROA, explaining 61.5% of the variance. This suggests that while these technologies may not be impactful on their own, their integration can substantially enhance financial performance. Limitations of this study include reliance on secondary data and a narrow focus on ROA, which may not fully capture all dimensions of performance. The findings offer valuable insights for digital banking stakeholders aiming to enhance financial outcomes through comprehensive digital strategies
