Abstract

Nanotechnology explores nanoscale materials that can be used in a wide range of industries such as biotechnology, cosmetics, drug delivery, nanomedicine, and biosensors. Nanoparticles in diverse shapes and sizes can be prepared through physical, chemical, and biological methods. The employment of reducing agents, which will change their form, size range, level of stability, and interaction, is a crucial part thus employing a biological approach is necessary. Chemically generated metal oxide nanoparticles raise considerable issues owing to the usage of hazardous and poisonous chemicals, as well as the potential for conservational impairment. In contrast, the production of silver nanoparticles using the principal method of green synthesis has found a special place in research that is considered more environmentally approachable requiring the use to produce non-toxic nanomaterials. Plants and polymer materials have received a lot of interest in the preparation of nanoparticles since they are renewable and affordable. In this review, we present a comprehensive overview of more ecologically friendly synthesis techniques that use plant extracts to make silver nanoparticles and their application as antibacterial agents, as well as toxicity features based on the shape, size range, and phytochemical mechanism of plants.

Abstract

Based on the facts on the ground, Indonesian students have low scientific literacy skills. This is shown by the 2018 PISA data which explains that the score of Indonesian students is 396 below the PISA average score of 500 and is ranked 70 out of 78 countries. Therefore, teachers must improve students’ scientific literacy skills so that students’ understanding of science can be trained so that they can keep up with the times. The purpose of this study was to improve the scientific literacy skills of class VII students through the development of ethnoscience-based student worksheets. The method used is a combined quantitative and qualitative method, through validation methods by two expert lecturers and analyzed descriptively quantitativel, with a 3D development model (define, design, and develop). The results showed that the validation of student worksheets was in the very valid category with a percentage of 85%. Based on these results, the worksheets of students based on ethnoscience are appropriate to be used as learning media to improve students’ scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Network pharmacology is a new approach to medicine that aims to understand drug interactions with body tissues more specifically. This concept involves a deep understanding of the mechanisms of drug action, drug metabolism, and the influence of drugs on tissue function. In recent years, network pharmacology has become a significant trend in drug development. This approach allows researchers to design drugs that are more effective and have fewer side effects. By understanding in detail how drugs interact with specific tissues, specific and targeted drug development can be undertaken. Network pharmacology also opens the door to the development of more particular and existent therapies. By taking into account individual differences in response to drugs, this approach allows for more effective and safer treatment. This article presents a literature review of network pharmacology as a new approach and trend in medicine. This literature review also explores the latest research and current trends in the world of medicine using a network pharmacology approach. This article shows that tissue pharmacology has great potential in more effective and safer treatments. With a better understanding of drug - tissue interactions, we can develop more targeted therapies and reduce the risk of undesirable side effects.

Abstract

This research is a computer-based experimental study using the molecular docking method of quercetin compounds in the leaves of the guava plant (Psidium guajava L.) against the target protein (receptor), namely Mpro SARS-CoV-2 (PDB ID: 6M2N) using various softwares. consists of Chem Draw Ultra version 7.0, Marvin Sketch, PLANTS, Yasara, Discovery Studio Visualizer 2021, and pkCSM online tool and, protox online tool. This study aims to find out how the potential  of the quercetin compound from the leaves of the guava plant (Psidium guajava L.) has on its ability to inhibit the spread of Covid-19 by molecular docking. Data analysis in this study was carried out based on data obtained from the analysis of pharmacokinetic profiles, physicochemical properties, molecular docking, and predictions of toxicity to compounds that have potential as drug ingredients. Based on the results of molecular docking, it was shown that the quercetin compound has the potential to act as an inhibitor of the Mpro receptor (PDB ID: 6M2N) as evidenced by the docking score obtained which is smaller than the docking score obtained by the original ligand of the target receptor.
