Abstract

Nutritional issues in toddlers remain a serious challenge in Indonesia, particularly in Aceh Province and West Aceh Regency, where the prevalence is higher compared to the national figures. Malnutrition during the first 1000 days of life can lead to long-term effects such as stunted growth, decreased learning abilities, and increased risks of morbidity and mortality. Nutritional education efforts through counseling and outreach are necessary to improve mothers' knowledge and nutritional behavior. Outreach was conducted for 57 mothers using PowerPoint media, while counseling was provided for 4 undernourished toddlers through home visits. Evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed that outreach improved understanding of balanced nutrition, risk factors, and prevention of malnutrition. Counseling significantly improved mothers' knowledge scores, from an average of 37.5 to 87.5. It can be concluded that nutrition education effectively encourages changes in knowledge and behavior, thus it needs to be implemented continuously.

Abstract

The dependence of PKH and low financial literacy have led to weak economic independence and food security among low-income families. This study aims to develop a Sustainable Livelihood Frameework (SLF)-based financial literacy model to improve household financial management, encourage productive behavior, and enhance sustainable household food security. The research method used a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, which were then analyzed through NVivo thematic coding. The research results show a duality: some families have succeeded in escaping poverty, while others remain dependent on the PKH. This is based on findings in the SLF Analysis related to financial literacy, which shows that PKH recipients still face context, conditions, and trends of inflation and social stigma. Meanwhile, livelihood resources are still weak and are utilized in a limited manner. Institutional processes and organizational structures are still not optimal in terms of multisectoral coordination. However, in terms of livelihood strategies, recipients are divided into groups with passive consumption patterns and active diversification through small businesses or agriculture. These conditions present highly varied livelihood outcomes, with some experiencing economic recovery, improved welfare, and human resource quality, while others are trapped in financial dependence and consumptive lifestyles. This study confirms that PKH policy formulation needs to prioritize sustainability, which can be achieved through the integration of financial literacy, consistent institutional support, and cross-sector collaboration.

Abstract

Abstract:  The phenomenon of child marriage remains a serious issue in both Indonesia and Egypt due to its adverse impacts on children’s health, psychological well-being, and social development. This study aims to analyze child protection in early marriage through a comparative examination of Indonesian positive law, Egyptian family law, and contemporary fiqh perspectives. Using a normative-comparative method, the research examines legal and fiqh literature to identify common ground in child protection frameworks. The findings indicate that Indonesia has set a minimum marriage age of 19 through the revision of Marriage Law No. 16 of 2019, while Egypt establishes a minimum age of 18 under Law No. 126 of 2008. However, both countries face similar challenges: the effectiveness of regulations is weakened by the high number of marriage dispensation applications in Indonesia and by unregistered marriages (‘urfi) and strong cultural factors in Egypt. From a fiqh perspective, there is a shift from classical views emphasizing biological maturity (bulūgh) toward contemporary approaches that stress intellectual and psychological maturity (rushd) and the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah to prevent harm. This study concludes that effective child protection requires harmonization between stricter legal dispensation mechanisms and progressive contemporary fiqh values. Effective protection depends not only on formal regulation but also on strengthening public awareness to reject child marriage for the sake of broader social welfare. Keywords: child protection, child marriage, Indonesian law, Egyptian law, contemporary fiqh.

Abstract

As the backbone of Medan’s economy, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a central role in sustaining livelihoods and driving regional growth. However, to overcome persistent challenges such as limited capital, market access, and human resource constraints, effective leadership becomes a critical factor for ensuring resilience and long-term sustainability. This study aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership in improving employee performance in the MSMEs sector in Medan City. Using a qualitative approach through case studies on several MSMEs such as Serumpun Deli, Animers Craft, Dian Kitchen, and Gallery Fika, this study found that the four main dimensions of transformational leadership, ideal influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual attention are able to increase employee loyalty, motivation, and productivity. These findings reinforce the theories of Bass and Avolio and show that the application of transformational leadership is effective in building an innovative and collaborative work culture. This study recommends strengthening leadership capacity in MSME actors as a strategy to increase competitiveness in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

This study examines the work readiness of Generation Z students in the digital era within the institutional context of IAIN Parepare, Indonesia. Rapid technological change has increased the demand for graduates who possess both digital competencies and adaptive professional skills. However, higher education institutions often face challenges in aligning graduate competencies with evolving industry expectations. Using an exploratory sequential mixed-method design, this study first conducted qualitative interviews and focus group discussions with institutional leaders, lecturers, industry practitioners, and human resource professionals to explore existing competency gaps and institutional practices. Insights from this phase informed the development of a survey instrument administered to 50 respondents in the quantitative stage. Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis, while quantitative data were examined through descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and structural equation modelling. The findings indicate that students demonstrate relatively strong soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and professional ethics, but show moderate readiness in several digital hard-skills areas, particularly technological proficiency and independent problem solving. Based on these empirical insights, the study proposed an applied conceptual model that integrates human resource management practices, pentahelix collaboration, and Islamic value integration as institutional strategies for strengthening graduate work readiness. Rather than presenting a university-validated framework, the model is intended as a context-specific conceptual proposal grounded in the empirical case of an Islamic higher education institution.

Abstract

Purpose − This study examines how social marketing communication strategies were used by the Nusa Tourism Institute (Lembaga Pariwisata Nusa) to build community acceptance toward the development of Nusa Tourism Village in Aceh Besar. The transformation of Nusa from a conventional rural settlement into a community based tourism destination did not occur quickly. Early reactions were marked by strong resistance driven by concerns over cultural change, religious norms, and stereotypes about visitors. Method − Using a qualitative case study approach, this research explored the process through which community attitudes shifted from rejection to acceptance and eventually to active participation. Data were collected through in depth interviews with local leaders, LPN administrators, UMKM actors, and residents Findings − The findings show that acceptance emerged through a gradual communication process shaped by the components of the 7P social marketing mix. LPN introduced community based halal tourism as the core idea, built positive perceptions through education and demonstration, and used social media to display observable benefits. These stages of change align with the Theory of Planned Behavior, where attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control strengthened in parallel until residents felt confident and capable of participating. The study concludes that culturally sensitive social marketing can reduce social resistance and support the development of sustainable community based tourism.
