Abstract

This study discusses two schools of thought, namely digitalism and futurism, and examines how these two schools of thought are relevant to dance education in the curriculum of the Primary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD). The purpose of this research is to examine digitalism and futurism in dance education as part of the PGSD study program curriculum, which is undergoing rapid transformation in line with the development of digital and futuristic technology. In addition, this research aims to identify the influence of digitalism and futurism on how PGSD students learn and teach dance. Digitalism as an approach utilized in the digital technology era to expand the scope, methods, and representations in dance education; futurism as an innovative art movement to incorporate the use of technology and modern dynamics as aesthetics and expression in dance education. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach to understand how these two movements can enrich the aesthetics, pedagogy, and competence of students in dance education, as well as observation to explore the understanding, challenges, and potential of integrating digital technology and futuristic trends in dance education. The results of this study can provide insights for the development of dance learning methods that are more relevant to the times. This research also discusses that the digitization of dance learning can increase digital literacy, interest in learning, and pedagogical innovation, while the principles of futurism challenge classical traditions and trigger creative thinking in creating choreographic movements and performativism.

This ability includes understanding problems, planning solution strategies, implementing the plan, and reviewing the results. Based on preliminary observations conducted at SMPN 1 Tanjung Emas and SMPN 1 Sungayang, students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities were still relatively low. One contributing factor is the limited availability of innovative learning media that support the development of these skills. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based e-comic as an alternative learning medium to improve the mathematical problem-solving abilities of eighth-grade junior high school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Plomp model, which consists of three phases: preliminary analysis, development, and evaluation. The quality of the developed product was assessed based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness criteria. The validation results showed that the e-comic (3.57), teaching module (3.60), and student worksheet (3.59) were categorized as valid. Abstract

The low interest in learning and mathematical communication skills among elementary school students remains a problem that impacts their understanding of mathematical concepts. Students often struggle to express mathematical ideas orally or in writing. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the problem-based learning (PBL) model in enhancing students' mathematical communication skills and learning interests, considering their initial abilities. The method employed was a quasi-experimental design with a 2 × 2 factorial structure, and data analysis was conducted using two-way ANOVA. This study employed two samples: the experimental class and the control class. Sampling in this study used the Probability Sampling technique. The experimental class consisted of 20 students, and the control class consisted of 25. The results showed that the PBL model significantly improved students' mathematical communication skills and learning interests, especially in students with low initial abilities. There was an interaction between the learning model and initial abilities on both variables. These findings concluded that the PBL model is effective in addressing the problem of low mathematical communication and student learning interests. The implications of this study suggest that PBM can be utilized as an alternative learning strategy to support the achievement of mathematical competencies in elementary schools.

Abstract

Geometry is a compulsory component of mathematics education worldwide; however, it remains one of the most challenging topics for prospective mathematics teachers, particularly transformation geometry. This study aims to examine the level of geometric thinking skills of prospective mathematics teachers based on Van Hiele’s theory, analyze their influence on the transformation geometry learning outcomes, and identify the prospective mathematics teachers’ learning obstacles. A mixed-methods approach research using an explanatory sequential design was employed. Data were collected from 99 prospective mathematics teachers enrolled in a Transformation Geometry course using geometric thinking skills test, transformation geometry learning outcomes test, and learning obstacles open-questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicate that most prospective teachers remain at lower Van Hiele levels, which are below the expected standards for future mathematics teachers. Geometric thinking skills were found to have a significant influence on transformation geometry learning outcomes. Prospective mathematics teachers simultaneously experience ontogenic, epistemological, and didactical obstacles. These findings imply that transformation geometry course should be aligned with students’ geometric thinking levels and supported by appropriate didactic designs. Therefore, future research about developing geometry didactic design based on Van Hiele’s theory in transformation geometry course is essential.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the micro-credential ecosystem has fundamentally transformed the landscape of higher education. Students in the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program at Nahdlatul Ulama University of West Sumatra are no longer positioned merely as prospective teachers who implement the curriculum, but as subjects with agency who must possess the capacity to act autonomously, reflectively, and responsibly in interpreting, selecting, and using technology, including AI and micro-credentials in the field of arts and culture. This study aims to construct a philosophy of education framework to understand and strengthen the agency of PGSD students in embracing technology and arts and culture micro-credentials in the current AI-driven digital era. This study employs a qualitative approach using a narrative literature review and philosophical analysis integrated with: (1) the concept of agency in Bandura’s social cognitive theory; (2) Biesta’s three domains of educational purposes (qualification, socialization, and subjectification); (3) technology acceptance models; (4) Indonesian micro-credential policy and practices; and (5) the position of arts and culture courses within the PGSD curriculum. The findings indicate that the acceptance of AI and micro-credentials cannot be reduced to purely technical issues such as ease of use and perceived usefulness, but must be situated within an ethical philosophical framework concerning the kind of elementary school teachers students aspire to become. This paper proposes a conceptual model of “PGSD Student Agency in the AI Era” that connects self-efficacy beliefs, educational values, perceptions of AI, and motivation to participate in arts and culture micro credentials. Practical implications include the design of a PGSD curriculum that positions arts and culture as a practical space for exercising agency, the critical integration of AI-based micro-credentials, and pedagogical strategies that foster ethical and reasonable digital literacy in the use of digital technologies.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Sustainable Food Agricultural Land Protection (LP2B) policy in West Pasaman Regency, identifies its inhibiting factors, and formulates local policy strengthening efforts. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observation, and document study as data collection techniques. The analysis was based on Merilee S. Grindle's policy implementation theory, which emphasizes two main dimensions: policy content and implementation context. The findings indicate that the LP2B policy has a formal legal basis through West Pasaman Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2023 and involves several actors, including the Food Crops and Horticulture Office, Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, Regional Development Planning Agency, Land Office, village government, agricultural extension workers, farmer groups, and farmers. However, implementation remains suboptimal due to limited public understanding, uneven policy benefits, weak inter-agency coordination, fragmented land data, economic pressure, and inadequate irrigation infrastructure that still encourage land conversion. The novelty of this research lies in examining LP2B implementation in West Pasaman through an integrated analysis of policy content, institutional context, farmers' social risks, and rice production pressure from 2020 to 2024. The study concludes that LP2B should be strengthened through integrated land data, continuous socialization, cross-sector coordination forums, participatory supervision, and more tangible incentives for farmers.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a web-based Numerical learning media oriented toward Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to enhance junior high school students' Numerical problem-solving skills. Utilizing the Plomp research and development model, the final prototype was field-tested involving 25 eighth-grade students. The results demonstrated a classical effectiveness rate of 76%, categorizing the developed media as effective. Specifically, students exhibited exceptional proficiency in understanding the problem (93.33%) and planning a solution (88.44%). However, a significant cognitive deficit emerged in the final phase of checking the results (48.89%). It is concluded that while embedding PBL syntax into a web-based environment effectively scaffolds the forward procedural steps of Numerical problem-solving, it currently falls short in internalizing metacognitive reflection. To bridge this gap, future digital Numerical learning architectures must transcend passive information delivery by integrating interactive mechanisms, such as automated reflective prompts and dynamic feedback loops, to structurally enforce self-regulated evaluation.
