Abstract

Writing is a crucial aspect of individuals' lives, especially for students, as it involves both the process and product of language. This study explores the challenges students face in writing, including the impact of teaching methods and the effectiveness of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method based on the Scientific Approach (CIRSA) in enhancing students' writing skills. This study employs quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design to investigating the significant difference both of methods with 30 samples in the experiment class and 30 samples in the control class. Through the independent sample t-test hypotheses are formulated and tested (α values are 0.05), providing a structured framework to draw meaningful inferences about the populations studied. The empirical findings of this study aimed to discern significant differences in writing achievement between the CIRSA and CIRC models (sig. 0.002 0.05). Aligned with educational theories, the N-gain score was utilized to evaluate students' progress during the learning process. So, The CIRSA Model (N-Gain 41%) is more effective than CIRC (N-Gain 32%). Then, this study explored the significant correlation between students' perceptions of the CIRSA model and their writing achievement (t-value of 6.268 1.701).

Abstract

Adanya interpretasi terhadap asumsi zero tolerance pada kandungan formaldehida yang diatur dalam peraturan pemerintah Indonesia perlu dipertimbangkan kembali. Faktanya, pada proses kemunduran mutu ikan segar, terjadi perombakan trimetilamin oksida oleh enzim trimetilamin oksidase yang terpecah menjadi trimetilamin dan menghasilkan senyawa hasil samping berupa formaldehida. Banyak penelitian sebelumnya membahas kandungan formaldehida alami pada beberapa komoditas perikanan seperti ikan beloso, ikan tongkol, dan ikan kerapu, serta masih diperlukan bukti dukung kandungan formalin alami dari komoditas perikanan lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar formaldehida alami dari ikan selar tetengkek segar dan mengetahui perubahan kandungan formaldehida serta tingkat kesegaran mutu ikan selar tetengkek selama penyimpanan suhu dingin. Sampel ikan selar tetengkek diperoleh dari hasil tangkapan one day fishing yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Karangantu, Serang dan selanjutnya dibawa menuju laboratorium Politeknik Ahli Usaha Perikanan Jakarta menggunakan transportasi darat dengan waktu perjalanan ±3 jam. Sampel kemudian diberikan dua perlakuan, yaitu tanpa perendaman formaldehida tambahan dan dengan perendaman dengan formaldehida 3% v/v selama 30 menit pada suhu ruang. Ikan selar tetengkek selanjutnya disimpan dalam cool box dengan penambahan es 1:2. Selama penyimpanan, Total Volatile Base (TVB) dan kandungan formaldehida diuji setiap 3 hari sekali. Nilai TVB pada sampel ikan selar tetengkek selama penyimpanan, baik ikan selar tanpa perendaman formaldehida dan dengan perendaman formaldehida 3% cenderung mengalami peningkatan hingga nilai TVB tertinggi, yaitu penyimpanan hari ke-30. Nilai TVB sampel pada perlakuan dengan perendaman formaldehida 3% lebih kecil dibanding nilai TVB tanpa perlakuan perendaman. Formaldehida menyebabkan kemunduran mutu ikan terjadi lebih lambat. Tren yang sama ditunjukkan pada kandungan formaldehida selama penyimpanan. Pada hari ke-9 sampai hari ke-30, kandungan formaldehida cenderung menurun. Hal ini disebabkan oleh adanya kemungkinan formaldehida yang leaching setelah penyimpan hari ke-9. Dari hasil ini, disimpulkan bahwa ikan selar tetengkek segar mengandung formaldehida alami (2,55 ppm) dan jumlahnya meningkat selama 30 hari pada penyimpanan suhu dingin. Tingkat kesegaran ikan selar tetengkek segar juga mengalami kemunduran mutu selama 30 hari penyimpanan suhu dingin.The interpretation of the zero tolerance assumption in determining formaldehyde content in Indonesian regulations needs to be reconsidered. In fact, endogenous formaldehyde in fish is formed as a by-product of trimethylamine oxide degradation to be trimethylamine and dimethylamine during the deterioration process. Many previous studies have reported the endogenous formaldehyde content in several commodities such as beloso fish, skipjack fish, and grouper fish, also more supporting evidence is still needed regarding the endogenous formaldehyde content of other commodities. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the endogenous formaldehyde content of selar tetengkek fish and to determine the changes in formaldehyde content and deterioration of selar tetengkek fish during chilling storage. Selar tetengkek fish soaked with 3% v/v formaldehyde for 30 minutes at room temperature and control without soaking treatment. Selar tetengkek fish were then stored in a cool box with the addition of ice (1:2). During storage, the total volatile base (TVB) and formaldehyde content were tested every 3 days. The TVB value in the selar tetengkek fish during storage, both with and without the treatment of formaldehyde soaking tended to increase and reach the highest TVB value in the 30th day of storage. The TVB value of the selar tetengkek fish with 3% formaldehyde soaking was lower than the TVB value without the soaking treatment. Formaldehyde affected the deterioration of fish occur more slowly. The same trend was shown in the formaldehyde content during storage. However, on day 9 to day 30, the formaldehyde content decreased. It was due to the possibility of formaldehyde leaching after the 9th day of storage. In conclusion, selar tetengkek fish contains endogenous formaldehyde (2.55 ppm) and it increased during 30 days of cold storage. The quality of selar tetengkek fish also decreased during 30 days of cold storage.

Abstract

In the world of education, Social Sciences (IPS) is one of the important aspects that need to be taught to students. This study aims to determine the completeness of social studies learning outcomes after applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model to social studies learning for grade IV students of SD Negeri 2 Trikarya. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach. In this study, 1 sample class was used, namely class IV with a total of 28 students. This means that all members of the population are sampled, the sampling technique is carried out with saturated sampling techniques. The instrument used in this study was in the form of multiple-choice questions totaling 15 questions. Data collection is carried out using tests. Data were analyzed using the z-test formula. The results of the study showed that based on the results of the data analysis test with a confidence level of α = 5%, it showed that Zcal > Ztabel (9.09) > (1.64) this means that HO was rejected and Ha was accepted. So, the conclusion is that the learning outcomes of social studies class IV SD Negeri 2 Trikarya after the implementation of the CTL learning model are significantly complete.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penyiasatan struktur repetisi dalam antologi puisi berjudul Nuansa Kata dan Samudra karya Aom Karomani dengan pendekatan stilistika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan objek kajian buku antologi puisi Nuansa Kata dan Samudra. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan membaca secara intensif dan menganalisis penyiasatan struktur repetisi dengan bentuk repetisi, paralelisme, anafora, serta polisindeton dan asindeton. Sumber data utama dalam penelitian ini adalah larik dan bait puisi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa antologi puisi berjudul Nuansa Kata dan Samudra sangat memanfaatkan penyiasatan struktur repetisi dengan bentuk repetisi berjumlah 16 data, anafora berjumlah 14 data, paralelisme berjumlah 11 data, polisindeton berjumlah 3, dan asindeton berjumlah 2 data. Repetisi dalam antologi puisi ini paling dominan, yaitu berfungsi memperkuat tema dan emosi, seperti pada puisi Kubur yang menekankan kematian. Anafora menambah ritme dan penekanan, misalnya dalam puisi Sumur yang menggambarkan pencarian makna hidup. Paralelisme menciptakan keseimbangan makna dan kedalaman, terlihat dalam puisi Bumi Yang Menua dan Corona. Polisindeton dan asindeton meski jarang digunakan, menambah variasi ritme dan efek dramatis, seperti dalam puisi Atas Nama Demokrasi. Dengan demikian, penyiasatan repetisi dalam puisi ini berhasil memperindah penggunaan bahasa, efektif menyampaikan pesan moral dan sosial yang kuat, serta menjadi gaya penulisan khas penyair.

Abstract

Multicultural learning is widely used in high school history education. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a historical empathy-based multicultural learning model (MHE), assisted by virtual reality, to enhance student empathy. The research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Borg and Gall development model, consisting of ten steps. Data collection instruments included interviews, questionnaires, tests, observations, and Focus Group Discussions. Data analysis involved examining product validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results showed that the final assessment of the MHE learning model obtained a content validity percentage of 93.40% and a construct validity percentage of 92%. The final assessment of the teaching module achieved a rate of 93.39%. The final assessment of the virtual reality learning media obtained a percentage of 92.10%. Thus, the learning models, textbooks, teaching modules, and virtual reality learning media are declared "Very Valid" and "Suitable for Use." The MHE multicultural learning model makes a significant contribution to future educational research by providing a deeper understanding of the history, culture, and life experiences of diverse community groups.

Abstract

The internalization of character education in science learning through a variety of learning media has been researched recently, one of which is through the photonovela media which is the medium of insertion of character values in learning material. The focus of this research is; 1) developing photonovela learning media with character education on work material and energy, 2) knowing photonovela media feasibility as a supplement to physics learning with character education on work material and energy 3) knowing the response of students to photonovela media with character education in an energy material. This research is a Research and Development study adopted the development of Borg and Gall with the subject of junior high school students. The research instruments used were questionnaires by material experts, media experts, and junior high school physics teachers and questionnaires for students' responses in the three schools. The results of the assessment by material experts obtained a percentage of 85%, the assessment of media experts was 90%, and the assessment of junior high school teachers was 84.16%, while the response of students in three junior high schools was 87.6%, 94%, and 93.6%. In conclusion, this study produced a product in the form of appropriate photonovela media as a supplement to physics learning with character education on business material and energy

Abstract

When the scales of Chinese herring (Hilsentoli sp.), like those of snakes or monitorlizards, are tanned, they exhibit a unique scaly texture with an attractive natural pattern. This study aimed to evaluate the physical properties of Chinese herring skin tanned with chrome and retained with a synthetic agent. The treatments consisted of a combination of chrome and tanning agents at various concentrations, ie. Chrome (C) 6% and tanning agent (S) 0% (C6S0), Chrome 8% and tanning agent 0% (C8S0), Chrome 10% and tanning agent 0% (C10S0), Chrome 6% and tanning agent 4% (C6S4), Chrome 8% and tanning agent 4% (C8S4), Chrome 10% and tanning agent 4% (C10S4), Chrome 6% and S 6% (C6S6), Chrome 8% and S 6% (C8S6), and Chrome 10% and tanning agent 6% (C10S6). Observations were conducted based on descriptive sensory, physical, and chemical tests, identification of functional groups of the leather, and morphology analysis of the skin leather. The results showed that a combination of chrome and synthetic tanning produced leather with a denser and fuller texture than leather tanned with the chrome tanning agent. C10S6 treatment produced the best physical properties of tanned skin of Chinese herring in terms of its high tensile strength, tear strength, stitch strength, and shrinkage temperature, along with the lowest elongation. The values are well within the Indonesian standard of SNI 0253:2009 for leather with fancy motifs on finished leather goods. The analysis of the cross-section of skin at various treatments using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis indicates that retanning with synthetic tanning agents strengthened the collagen matrix, producing denser, more compact structures. This density is caused by the presence of collagen compound bonds and synthetic tanning materials, such as phenol and formaldehyde, which were detected as 2,4-dimethyl phenol in the Raman spectra shift at 208, 35 – 2445.87 cm -1 .

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat kelompok usia sekolah dasar dalam rangka memetakan pola penggunaan bahasa Lampung yang tepat agar dapat dijadikan sebagai prototype dalam pemertahanan bahasa Lampung di Desa Negara Batin Kabupaten Way Kanan. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terbentuknya pola pemertahanan bahasa sehingga menimbulkan sikap positif bahasa. Metode dalam pemberdayaan ini menggunakan pendekatan partisipatori yang menerapkan kegiatan aktif dimana seluruh peserta berperan aktif dalam interaksi berbahasa Lampung yang akan diobservasi dan direkap dalam jurnal harian. Setelah itu dilakukan monitoring dan evaluasi efektivitas pola sehingga akhirnya akan terbentuk pola pemertahanan bahasa Lampung. Kegiatan pengabdian ini melibatkan Pemerintah Desa Negara Batin dan sekolah dasar di sekitar lokasi sebagai mitra pengabdian yang berperan baik saat pengabdian maupun ketika sudah selesai sebagai bagian dari pemantauan dan penerapan secara komprehensif. Hasil pengabdian melalui wawancara terkait pola penggunaan bahasa yang digunakan diperoleh data bahwa 80% peserta menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Lampung dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Terkait sikap bahasa diperoleh data sebanyak 55% memiliki sikap lebih banyak menggunakan bahasa Lampung dalam berkomunikasi di berbagai tempat. Selanjutnya berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan diperoleh data rata-rata sebanyak 78,87% peserta pengabdian selalu menggunakan Bahasa Lampung dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari di lingkungan rumah, sekolah, dan tempat bermain.

Abstract

The study in this research focuses on the analysis and description of the character of responsibility contained in the book Spring It's Named Al-Qur'an by Aulia Musla. The research data are sentences in the dialog and narration of the book Spring Named Al-Qur'an that contain the character of responsibility. Data collection is done by reading and recording techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the character of responsibility in the book is reflected in the form of responsibility towards God, social responsibility, and responsibility towards oneself. First, the character of responsibility towards God is reflected in the attitude of the character who invites to murojaah and be grateful for all the blessings that have been bestowed by Allah SWT. Second, the character of social responsibility is reflected in the attitude of Aunt Ida who likes to share and Altan who loves cats as living creatures. Third, the character of responsibility towards oneself is reflected in the attitude of Altan who takes the initiative to find solutions to solve problems and is able to take responsibility for his actions

Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Flip PDF-based e-modules in learning procedure texts at junior high school level grade VII. The use of the ADDIE approach is the basis for the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and product evaluation. The assessment results show that this e-module is suitable for use in the teaching and learning process with a score of 80.3%, because it is able to facilitate understanding of the material, increase learning motivation, and is visually appealing and interactive. The evaluation also identified the need for improvement, such as adjusting the content to the local context and adding technical guidelines. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of effective and innovative technology-based learning media in improving learners' literacy skills, especially in understanding procedure texts
