Abstract

Objective: This study aims to find out the relationship between academic boredom and the intensity of playing online games on the level of aggressiveness in vocational students. Method: In this study, researchers used a group of research subjects from a population, namely students and female students of class XI SMK X in Mojokerto City. While the number of samples in this study amounted to 5% of the total population, namely 221 students. In this study, simple random sampling technique was used as the sampling technique. Simple random sampling means giving the same opportunity to each member of the population used to become a research sample. This research is quantitative research, which is a quantitative non-experiment with a correlational approach. The data collection method used is a viewing behavior scale and an aggressive behavior scale with a Likert-shaped scale model. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple correlation. All data analysis calculations were carried out using the SPSS application. Result: The results of the analysis show a positive and significant relationship between academic boredom and the intensity of playing online games with the level of aggressive behavior in vocational students, suggesting that higher levels of boredom and frequent gaming are associated with increased aggression. Novelty: In previous research conducted by Nabila & Sugandi, the relationship between the intensity of watching violent shows and the level of aggressive behavior was studied in adolescent targets. Therefore, in this study, researchers want to examine these two variables with a more specific target, namely vocational students. In addition, the variable of aggressiveness behavior has never been studied with the variable of academic boredom.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between academic stress level and online game addiction tendency among students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Taman. In the digital era, online gaming has become a popular phenomenon among students, but it also has the potential to cause addiction that can have a negative impact on academic aspects and mental health. Method: The method used in this study was a quantitative non-experiment involving 182 students randomly drawn from the population of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Taman. Data were collected using a Likert scale designed to measure academic stress levels and online game addiction tendencies. Results: The results of the analysis using the Spearman correlation test showed a positive and significant relationship between academic stress level and online game addiction tendency, with a correlation coefficient of 0.161 and a significance value of p = 0.030. This finding indicates that the higher the level of academic stress experienced by students, the greater their tendency to experience addiction to online games. Novelty: This study provides important insights for educational institutions to develop interventions that can assist students in managing stress and preventing addictive behaviors. Implications of the results include the need for preventive approaches in education to support students' mental health, including counseling services and stress management training. By understanding this relationship, it is expected to reduce the negative impact of academic stress on addictive behaviors among students.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the impact of time and space constraints in kindergarten settings on children’s autonomy, emotional well-being, and social development. Method: A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining classroom observations (N = 60), teacher interviews (N = 20), and structured surveys (N = 50). Quantitative analyses, including ANOVA, correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), were conducted to examine the relationships between environmental constraints and developmental outcomes. Results: Findings revealed that 72% of children exhibited signs of frustration due to rigid scheduling, while 74% of teachers identified limited social interaction opportunities as a major concern. Regression analysis indicated that time rigidity significantly predicted increased stress levels in children (β = 0.42, p < 0.05), whereas spatial flexibility was positively associated with peer collaboration (β = 0.52, p < 0.01). Qualitative data supported these results, highlighting teacher concerns about inflexible routines and limited classroom adaptability. Furthermore, children in open-space classrooms engaged in 30% more peer interactions compared to those in traditionally arranged settings. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence supporting the benefits of flexible time and spatial arrangements in early childhood education. The findings emphasize the importance of child-centered scheduling and dynamic classroom environments in promoting holistic development. Policy recommendations include reducing time rigidity, integrating more child-led activities, and adopting adaptive classroom designs to enhance learning outcomes in early childhood settings.
