Abstract

Understanding the environmentally conscious character among PGSD students is very important to encourage sustainable development and environmental education at the elementary level. Environmental education plays a key role in raising awareness and encouraging behavioral changes that support environmental conservation. Elementary school teachers play a strategic role in instilling these values in children from an early age, so their preparation in this field is vital. This fact has prompted surveys on various research subjects. Among these surveys, only a few involve prospective teachers as subjects, and none have covered prospective elementary school teachers. Therefore, this study will explore the environmental awareness knowledge, attitudes, and practices of PGSD students, analyze the relationship between these three variables, and provide recommendations for developing an environmental education-based curriculum. This survey will involve first-year to fourth-year students in the PGSD Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mataram University. The sample size was determined using stratified random sampling. The instruments used were tests and closed questionnaires/surveys with a five-point scale. The data collected will be analyzed descriptively to obtain a classical picture of knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to environmental awareness. The results of the analysis show that PGSD students have good environmental awareness. This is based on the large proportion of students who answered correctly on the knowledge domain test with a dominant proportion, the positive attitude domain with a dominant proportion, and the practice domain with a good frequency with a predominant proportion.

Abstract

Previous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and unit cube manipulatives in mathematics instruction. However, studies integrating both approaches to improve elementary school students' numeracy skills in geometry remain limited. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by unit cube manipulatives on the numeracy skills of fifth-grade students in geometry, particularly on the topic of the volume of cubes and rectangular prisms, at SD Negeri 2 Mangkung. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants consisted of 29 fifth-grade students selected through the total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, Independent Samples t-test, and effect size analysis (Cohen's d). The results revealed that the experimental class achieved a higher mean posttest score (70.00) than the control class (58.57). The hypothesis test produced a significance value of 0.047 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the effect size value of 0.777 indicated a medium practical effect. Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by unit cube manipulatives significantly improved the numeracy skills of fifth-grade students in geometry.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development process, validity level, and practicality level of a problem-posing-based scrapbook medium for the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject on the ecosystem topic for fifth-grade elementary school students. This is a Research and Development (R&D) study adapting Sugiyono's model, limited to seven of ten stages: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, and product revision. Research subjects consisted of one subject-matter expert, one media expert, one fifth-grade teacher, and eight fifth-grade students at SDN 4 Cakranegara. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation and analyzed descriptively based on percentage scores. Results show that the developed medium, covering Chapter 2 "Harmony in Ecosystems," topic "Eating and Being Eaten," achieved a validity percentage of 90% from the subject-matter expert and 92% from the media expert, both in the "highly valid" category. The practicality test yielded a 98% response from the teacher and 97% from students, both categorized as "highly practical." These findings indicate that the problem-posing-based scrapbook medium is valid and practical for teaching the ecosystem topic in fifth-grade IPAS classes, although the trial remains limited to a small group and generalization should be made cautiously.

Abstract

Data hasil asesmen menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis ilmiah mahasiswa berada pada kategori rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis riset (RBL) melalui metode pembimbingan klasikal (PK) berbantuan media CTP terhadap keterampilan menulis ilmiah mahasiswa. Sampel terdiri atas 64 mahasiswa dari kelompok kontrol dan 65 mahasiswa dari kelompok eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah dokumen makalah yang ditulis secara individu. Untuk menilai KMI mahasiswa dari makalah tersebut, digunakan rubrik penilaian. Skor yang diperoleh dikonversi menjadi nilai kuantitatif dengan rentang 0 – 100. Nilai ini dikonversi menjadi nilai kualitatif dengan rentang grade E sampai dengan grade A, dan diinterpretasi menjadi kategori sangat rendah sampai dengan sangat baik. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk mengetahui rata-rata dan proporsi. Untuk melaihat pengaruh treatment yang diberikan, data KMI mahasiswa dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA. Hasil analisis mengungkapkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 86.10, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 77.20. Grade paling rendah pada kelompok eksperimen adalah B dan didominasi oleh grade A. Pada kelompok kontrol, nilai D adalah grade paling rendah dan didominasi oleh grade A. namun demikian, proporsi grade A pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 66.15% sedangkan pada kelompok C hanya sebesar 26.56%. Hasil analisis komparasi menggunakan ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model RBL melalui metode PK berbantuan media CTP berpengaruh terhadap KMI mahasiswa.
