Abstract

This alay language is not only a communication tool, but also an identification tool. Teenagers usingthis alay language may be to identify themselves as alay. The use of alay language can also be useful tocultivate self-existence. One language application as a communication tool is the use of language inelectronic media applications Blacberry Messenger (BBM). The purpose of the study to determine thephenomenon of alay language attraction in communication among adolescents on the use of fuel in thedistrict Wonokromo Surabaya. drag rational alay language as communication among adolescents to the useof fuel in sub-district Wonokromo Surabaya, alay language users, alay language can provide other benefits,as a means of non-formal communication among teenagers alay and other teenagers alay language alsoprovide benefits, especially for their community especially. The emotional appeal of the alay language as acommunication among teenagers in the use of fuel in Surabaya, the motivation of adolescents to use alaylanguage in BBM is essentially to search for self-identity, self-existence according to cultural developmentand recognition of the outside world of their existence (alayers) in adolescents today. Many activities can bedone using alay language, among others, SMS, chat with fellow alay community on Facebook, yahoomessenger, or just write a wall or coment on Facebook either with fellow users alay or with other BBMusers. The attractiveness of the alay language is diverse ranging from alay language writing that looksunique that can be modified or mixed with the letters, besides that alay language can also be a codelanguage for them (alayers) in communicating within their community in particular.Keywords: Alay Language, Communication, BBM

Abstract

Perception is a stimulus that is perceived by the individual, organized and then interpreted so thatthe individual realizes and understands what is perceived. In other words perception is a process thatinvolves the entry of messages or information into the human box. Perception is called the core ofcommunication because if individual perceptions are inaccurate, then the individual is not likely tocommunicate effectively. Perceptions that determine the individual to choose a message and ignore theother message. The research with the title of perception of Surabaya society about advertisement of "taxbenefit" in television is a research which aims to know how perception of advertisement. This study useddescriptive qualitative. From the research conducted, perception is negative. This can be known fromsome interviews that were asked to informants, most informants stated disagree. But there's still a smallpercentage who have an unfavorable perception of "tax benefit" ads on television, because ads areconsidered to get support in the advertising process. Everything presented in the ad. From the results ofresearch that has been obtained then the advice given to advertisers "tax benefits" on television. Abstract

This study aims to see how the communication barrier on the outside Java dispersed abroadstudents at the University of Surabaya August 17, 1945, in adapting when faced of culture shock.Culture Shock is a social phenomenon experienced by immigrants when relocate and inhabit areaswith different cultures. This study uses the concepts and theories of Intercultural Communication. Thisstudy uses a snowball and purposive sampling method in selecting informant, and then analyzed byusing interactive analysis. In this study, known any obstacles in communicating to different cultures,and the factors that become such inhibitors, as well as a supporting factor for student immigrants toremain in the overseas. Target is the students immigrants in UNTAG Surabaya, in order to adapt tothe other students and can unify the existing differences.Keywords: Barriers to communication, adaptation, intercultural communication

Abstract

The method used in this study is a qualitative research method of case studies. The case studiesfocus intensively on a particular object with a case study. Qualitative research aims to explain thephenomenon with deeply through data collection. The sampling technique in this research is the snowballtechnique ( snowball ). Through qualitative approach, data obtained from the field drawn conclusionsare specific to the general. Objects in the study were students of University August 17 Fisip Surabaya arestill active are 25 people. Observations made during the first month . Data collection techniques used inthis research is through field research and library research. And data analysis techniques used in thisresearch through data reduction, data display, draw conclusions and verification. The results showedthat the site facebook is a social media platforms are quite good and efficient. Very good role in socialkomuniikasi ie as source of information about friends , communities, groups and data sharing. Then interms of the economic benefits are not good enough but still no progress. facebook but as acommunication medium between friends can also as a medium to promote businesses . in education isquite minimal benefits from the data that the author did little is agreed that education has an importantrole in facebook. then from the social and cultural , social development is significant but the impact thatcaused the not too big for our culture.Keywords: opinion, students, social communications, facebook.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of hazard warning on cigarette packs for disease asimpact on smoking among students at University of August 17, 1945 in Surabaya. Data collection wasdoing by spread questionnaires as many as 78 people respondents. Data analysis technique used wastechnique of correlation by Pearson’s product moment. The results showed that the correlation of theresults coefficient by - 0.296. This suggests that the negative relationship between warning the dangers ofsmoking to smokers behavior on August 17, 1945 students at the University of Surabaya. This negativerelationship means relations of "no strong enough", because the number of correlation coefficients wereobtained at intervals of -0.4 until –0.2. The results also showed that t count <-ttable (-2.6837 <-1.655) thenH0 is rejected or H1 is accepted, that there is a significant negative relationship between hazard warningson packs of cigarettestoward smokers’ behavior on students of University of August 17, 1945 in Surabaya.Keywords: warning, dangers, smoking, behaviour, cigarettes.

Abstract

This film begins when Light Yagami finds a book that turned out to belong to a Shinigami (God ofDeath) named Ryuk (Ryuku). In the Death Note Ryuk owned, there are ways to use the Death Notewritten by him alone. Death Note is then used to realize his ideals is to create a clean new world of crime,with himself as a god, by writing the name of the perpetrator into Deathnote book, the offender will dieinstantly in 40 seconds in this study researchers with the theme or topic of fanaticism exist in a moviewith the title "the First Name Deathnote". Purpose of this research was to determine and analyze themeaning of the film, the message of social and moral student named Light Yagami and L in the filmDetective Deathnote The First Name. This research method is a method of semiotic analysis withqualitative descriptive research with interpretive paradigm. The object of research is a Light That aMurderer (KIRA) through symbols Deathnote message in the film The First Name. The results of thisstudy indicate bahwapemuda named Light Yagami Having high ideals to create a new world in whichthere is no crime, denggan using Light Deathnote book can kill all the people who are consideredunworthy of life in the world because of his criminal actions. The suggestion of this research for the filmobserver especially moviegoers are expected not to imitate him Light, which tends to have the ambition tobe the god of the world's poor, as well as showing the inability of the police in dealing with crime. Tattoo is a work of human art known since ancient times . There is no definitive information aboutthe emergence of this self sculpture. But certainly have become entrenched and people's lifestyles inalmost all corners of the world. Posed artistic beauty wowed some communities , which raises the fancommunity group , to users of this tattoo. Abstract

The Indian Drama series is one of the television programming that is now thefocus of television viewers. ANTV can be regarded as a pioneer television station theemergence of Indian drama series. SCTV also took part in broadcasting an Indian dramaseries program. Two Indian drama series that have aired simultaneously on twotelevision stations are Gopi in ANTV and Gangaa Season 2 on SCTV. From the existenceof the problem, the researcher wanted to know how big the satisfaction expected, thesatisfaction obtained, and the gap of satisfaction in the drama series of India Gopi inANTV and Gangaa Season 2 in SCTV. This research uses using and gratifications theoryby using data analysis of Palmgreen discrepancy, which is used to know the gap ofsatisfaction. The results show that in general the Indian Gopi drama series in ANTV issuperior to Gangaa Season 2 in SCTV, as evidenced by 13 types of needs, Gopi issuperior with 11 types of needs with the highest percentage of which is included in thehigh category of 91.23%. While Gangaa Season 2 is only able to give satisfaction to therespondents as many as 10 types of needs, with the largest percentage included in themedium category, namely 87.72%.Keywords: Satisfaction Gap, Indian Drama Series.

Abstract

This study aimed to know and observe what is the motivation of women at doing treatment for beautyat the Dina’s Acupuncture Clinics & Beauty Care in Surabaya. This study is a qualitative and descriptivestudy using interview techniques as a source and data analysis techniques. The interview used informantas data source for the as many as 2 speakers from the clinic manager and three of clinic’s consumer atDina’s Acupuncture Clinics & Beauty Care in Surabaya. The results showed that women do treatmentsfor beauty in order to maintain their body and face healthy. The women also do treatments for beautybecause the motivation to change the shape to take some ideal forms. In general, women do treatmentsfor beauty because they want to achieve beauty and fitness in a career appearance and environment.Keywords: women, motivation, clinics, care, beauty
