Abstract

Background – The rise of online check-in applications, like 'Book cabin' by Lion Air Group, highlights the need for secure and useful features to build trust and drive reuse intention. Understanding these factors is essential for enhancing user adoption and satisfaction. Aim – This research aims to analyze the influence of trust as a mediating variable of perceived security and perceived usefulness on interest in reusing Book cabin as an online check-in application at the Lion Air Group. Design / methodology / approach – The population in this research were users of the Book cabin application with a sample of 200 respondents. The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires via Google Form. The data processing method in this study uses Smart-PLS which is used to test the hypothesis. Findings – The findings indicate that perceived security, perceived usefulness, and trust each have a significant positive impact on the intention to reuse the Book cabin application. Additionally, trust serves as an important mediator, strengthening the relationship between perceived security, perceived usefulness, and reuse intention. Research implication – This study contributes to the marketing fields and existing literature by examining the influence of perceived security and perceived usefulness on the intention to reuse an online check-in application. It advances previous research by exploring trust as a mediating factor, providing a deeper understanding of how trust can bridge user perceptions and behavioral intentions in digital travel services. Limitations – This study has several limitations, including the use of cross-sectional data that does not capture long-term behavioral changes and a focus on perceived security and usefulness without considering other factors like perceived ease of use, or e-WOM. Additionally, the sample is limited to users of the Book Cabin application, particularly those from the Lion Air Group. Future research should adopt a longitudinal approach, and expand the sample scope to achieve more comprehensive and generalizable findings.

Abstract

The escalation of growth in the culinary industry in the Surabaya region has triggered a significant intensity of competition, making customer retention a crucial issue, especially in the gastronomic restaurant sector. This study is oriented toward examining the impact of gastronomy experience, service quality, and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty. Through a quantitative approach, a purposive sampling technique was applied to involve 180 participants as the research sample. Data collection was conducted using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire, which was then analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. The research findings demonstrate that customer satisfaction is positively and significantly influenced by gastronomy experience and service quality. In the context of this study, service quality has a stronger influence compared to gastronomy experience. Furthermore, a positive and significant effect was also found in the relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that, based on the perspective of Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) Theory in the gastronomic restaurant ecosystem, the formation of customer loyalty is projected to be more dominantly driven through the stimulation of service quality and the perception of customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of engagement and commitment on customer loyalty, with emotional engagement as a mediating variable among Haidilao Hotpot PTC Surabaya customers. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 209 respondents who had visited and made purchases at Haidilao Hotpot PTC Surabaya. Respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of customers who had consumption experience at the restaurant. The research instrument was constructed using a five-point Likert scale to measure the variables of engagement, commitment, emotional engagement, and customer loyalty. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through the SmartPLS application. The results showed that commitment had a positive and significant effect on emotional engagement and customer loyalty. Emotional engagement was also shown to significantly increase customer loyalty. Conversely, engagement showed a significant negative effect on customer loyalty and had no significant effect on emotional engagement. In addition, emotional engagement successfully mediated the relationship between commitment and customer loyalty, but was unable to mediate the relationship between engagement and customer loyalty. These findings emphasize the importance of relational and emotional aspects in building customer loyalty in the restaurant industry

Abstract

Background: Conventional SERVPERF-based hotel service quality assessments often rely on questionnaires, which may lead to midpoint bias, limited engagement, and subjective interpretation. Therefore, online customer reviews offer an alternative data source for capturing authentic service experiences. Objective: This study aims to evaluate service quality in five-star hotels in Surabaya by integrating SERVPERF, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), text mining, sentiment analysis, and the 2-tuple linguistic model. Methods: A total of 1,200 TripAdvisor reviews from five five-star hotels in Surabaya were collected and analyzed. Expert judgments were obtained through AHP to determine the weight of each SERVPERF dimension. Review texts were segmented, classified into SERVPERF dimensions using a Large Language Model, and analyzed using TextBlob sentiment polarity. The results were then integrated into the 2-tuple linguistic model. Results: Tangibles was the most frequently discussed and most positively perceived dimension in customer reviews. However, Reliability received the highest expert-based AHP weight and became the most influential dimension after weighted SERVPERF scoring, followed by Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, and Tangibles. Conclusion: The proposed hybrid model provides a more comprehensive and data-driven approach to hotel service quality assessment by combining authentic customer reviews with expert-based weighting. This method helps hotel managers identify priority areas for service improvement more objectively.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the family environment and entrepreneurship learning on entrepreneurial interest, with self-efficacy as an intervening variable. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. In this study, we also used a survey method with a questionnaire or Koesener as a data collection instrument. The research population consisted of 427 students in the Faculty of Economics and Business majoring in entrepreneurship. The sampling technique used was a proportional random sampling technique, which was calculated using Slovin with a sample size of 84 respondents or 22% of the total population. The research method used in this study was quantitative. This research showed that self-efficacy, family environment, and entrepreneurial learning affect entrepreneurial interest. If students have self-efficacy, a good family environment, and the desire to experience high entrepreneurial learning, this will also increase their interest in entrepreneurship.
