Abstract

Developing a QR Code-assisted simulator for Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems aims to enhance teachers' and students' understanding of EFI technology in automotive education. EFI is a technology that electronically regulates vehicle fuel supply based on data collected from engine sensors. In practice, learning about EFI often requires expensive and hard-to-access physical equipment. Therefore, the QR Code-based simulator was developed as an innovative solution. This simulator enables students and teachers to access interactive content about the components and workings of the EFI system by scanning QR Codes linked to digital simulations. This approach makes the learning process more practical, interactive, and accessible. Research findings indicate that using this simulator significantly improves students' understanding of EFI concepts. Teachers also benefit from this tool, making teaching materials more engaging and comprehensible. This technology addresses the limitations of practical equipment, giving students a better opportunity to deeply understand EFI systems without relying on costly physical devices.

Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri (SMKN) 2 Payakumbuh is one of the vocational high schools that offers various areas of expertise, one of which is Electrical Power Installation. This program aims to produce graduates who are ready to work and competent in the field of electrical power installation. SMKN 2 Payakumbuh is committed to conducting quality and optimal learning processes to achieve its goal of producing graduates who are well-prepared and skilled in their fields. However, there are some challenges in the learning process within the Electrical Power Installation expertise, particularly in the subject of Motor Installation. According to the latest curriculum, new material has been added to the motor installation subject, specifically motor control using a speed drive device. However, the school lacks sufficient laboratory equipment to support this practical material. Additionally, the teachers' competence in motor control using Variable Speed Drive (VSD) devices is still limited, which hinders the learning process from being fully effective. Several actions were taken to address this issue, including creating a motor control trainer based on VSD and conducting training to enhance teachers' competencies in motor control using VSD. This initiative was carried out in four stages: (1) Planning; (2) Preparation; (3) Implementation; and (4) Evaluation and reporting. As a result of these efforts, the teachers' competence in motor control using VSD has improved.

Abstract

This study focuses on the modification of the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system on the Mio electric motorcycle. The modification process begins with changing the angle of the front pulley and changing the working system of the rear pulley, this modification significantly improves the performance of the electric motorcycle. Tests show that the standard CVT produces a maximum torque of 7.17 Nm at 1867 RPM and a peak power of 1.9 HP at 1903 RPM. Then the modified CVT with a front pulley tilt of 13.5 ° reaches a maximum torque of 10.57 Nm at 1842 RPM and a peak power of 2.8 HP at 1949 RPM, while the fixed pulley configuration produces the highest torque of 17.19 Nm at 1487 RPM and a peak power of 3.9 HP at 1851 RPM. These results show the potential of modifying the automatic transmission system to increase torque and power as well as increase acceleration and efficiency in electric vehicles.

Abstract

Many students graduate with inadequate knowledge and skills, so more effective learning methods are needed. So that student competency can increase, project-based learning modules must be developed. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of project-based teaching materials on light vehicle engine maintenance. The type of research used is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The subjects in this research were 30 students used to test the effectiveness of the teaching materials developed. Trials are collected to collect quantitative data in the form of learning outcomes tests and skills tests to obtain product effectiveness scores. The data analysis technique uses a one-shot case study regarding the classical completeness of the value of knowledge and skills learning outcomes. The research results show that the use of project-based teaching materials is effective. This is based on increased students' knowledge and skills after using these teaching materials. In conclusion, the effectiveness test in developing teaching materials for light vehicle engine maintenance used by students can increase knowledge and skills in the learning process. This can help students practically understand the concept of light vehicle engine maintenance and integrate it with previously learned knowledge.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat entrepreneur mahasiswa yang disebabkan oleh kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa yang rendah dan hasil belajar kewirausahaan masih di bawah nilai ketuntasan terendah. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan menganalisis kontribusi kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar kewirausahaan terhadap minat entrepreneur mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dengan jumlah sampel 75 mahasiswa menggunakan proportional random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dengan wawancara dan kuesioner. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif. Ketiga variable sudah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Data penelitian diuji melalui deskripsi dan uji inferensial. Uji deskripsi mengukur rata-rata, nilai terendah, nilai tertinggi, median dan standar deviasi yang sebelumnya dicari uji prasyarat (normalitas, homogenitas, dan multikolinearitas). Pengujian hipotesis dengan pengujian regresi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa kontribusi kecerdasan emosional terhadap minat entrepreneur mahasiswa adalah 48,9%, kontribusi hasil belajar kewirausahaan terhadap minat entrepreneur mahasiswa adalah 28,8% dan kontribusi kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar kewirausahaan terhadap minat entrepreneur mahasiswa adalah 52,7%. Kesimpulannya bahwa terdapat kontribusi kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar kewirausahaan terhadap minat entrepreneur mahasiswa. Implikasi penelitian ini diharapkan meningkatkan minat entrepreneur mahasiswa dengan memperhatikan kecerdasan emosipnal dan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tingkat kesadaran pengemudi bus antarkota terhadap kelayakan daya pancar dan arah sinar lampu utama, yang berperan penting dalam keselamatan berkendara. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan survei terhadap 30 pengemudi di UPT PKB Dinas Perhubungan Kota Padang, data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran pengemudi berada pada kategori sedang dengan skor minimum 96, maksimum 175, rata-rata 129, dan standar deviasi 21,1. Distribusi kesadaran mencatat 33,3% dalam kategori sangat rendah, 20,0% rendah, 16,7% sedang, 23,3% tinggi, dan 6,7% sangat tinggi, yang mengindikasikan masih kurangnya pemahaman tentang perawatan dan pengaturan lampu utama. Studi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran pengemudi dalam menjaga kualitas lampu utama guna mendukung keselamatan lalu lintas. This study analyses the level of awareness of intercity bus drivers on the appropriateness of headlight emission and beam direction, which play an important role in driving safety. Using a quantitative method with a survey of 30 drivers at the UPT PKB of Padang City Transportation Agency, the data were analysed descriptively. Results showed that driver awareness was in the moderate category with a minimum score of 96, maximum of 175, mean of 129, and standard deviation of 21.1. The distribution of awareness recorded 33.3% in the very low category, 20.0% low, 16.7% medium, 23.3% high, and 6.7% very high, indicating a lack of understanding of headlight maintenance and settings. This study is expected to increase driver awareness in maintaining the quality of headlamps to support traffic safety.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal, yang menghambat mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Otomotif Universitas Negeri Padang untuk menyelesaikan tugas akhir dan skripsi pada tahun masuk 2019 dan 2020. Penelitian ini adalah survei kuantitatif. Menggunakan kuesioner/angket. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 54 siswa yang masuk tahun akademik 2019 dan 2020. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket yang memiliki pilihan jawaban berskala Likert. Analisis deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh, Tingkat Capaian Responden pada faktor internal yaitu variabel Kesehatan sebesar 72.69% dan variabel Tugas Akhir sebesar 70.93% memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap penghambat menyelesaikan tugas akhir dan skripsi mahasiswa Departement Teknik Otomotif Universitas Negeri Padang. The purpose of the study was to identify internal and external factors that hinder students of the Automotive Engineering Department, Padang State University from completing their final assignments and theses in the academic years of 2019 and 2020. This study was a quantitative survey. Using a questionnaire. The sample of this study consisted of 54 students who entered the academic years of 2019 and 2020. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had Likert-scale answer choices. Descriptive analysis was used in the study. The results of the study that have been obtained, the Respondent Achievement Level on internal factors, namely the Health variable of 72.69% and the Final Assignment variable of 70.93% have a major influence on inhibiting the completion of the final assignment and thesis of students of the Automotive Engineering Department, Universitas Negeri Padang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and practicality of using a pneumatic valve spring remover Special Service Tool (SST) in the valve seal replacement process without removing the cylinder head, and to compare it with the conventional method. The experiment involved two groups: the experimental group using the pneumatic SST and the control group using the conventional method. The results showed that the pneumatic SST reduced the work time by 31.9%, from 433.78 minutes to 295.33 minutes. Additionally, the Post-Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) revealed excellent scores for system usefulness (1.35), information quality (1.96), interface quality (1.74), and overall satisfaction (1.66), indicating that the pneumatic SST is not only time-effective but also practical and comfortable to use. Based on these results, the pneumatic SST is recommended as an efficient and easy-to-operate tool for vehicle maintenance in workshops.

Abstract

Data menunjukkan banyaknya masyarakat tunakarya di Nagari Persiapan Ranah Malintang sebanyak 10-15%. Hal ini tentu ada permasalahan yang terjadi di wilayah tersebut yang sejatinya harus dipecahkan untuk mengurangi angka pengangguran. Dilihat pada sisi lainnya, bengkel sepeda motor sangat minim, sedangkan penggunaan sepeda motor merupakan aspek yang cukup besar di wilayah tersebut. Salah satu solusi yang diberikan agar dapat mengurangi beban masyarakat adalah dengan berwirausaha bidang bengkel sepeda motor dengan memberikan pelatihan life skill guna menciptakan wirausaha-wirausaha baru. Selain solusi yang telah diberikan tersebut, adanya peralatan yang dhibahkan oleh tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) untuk mempercepat terciptanya bengkel sepeda motor sebagai bagian dari berwirausaha. Jumlah peserta yang hadir dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini sebanyak 15 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan tanya jawab, diskusi, praktikum serta bimbingan dan evaluasi. Hasil yang didapat adalah terdapatnya peningkatan life skill peserta mengenai cara berwirausah bidang bengkel sepeda motor, sehingga diharapkan dengan adanya hasil yang memuaskan dan tambahan peralatan bengkel dapat menciptakan wirausaha baru guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat tunakarya khususnya.

Abstract

The number of motorcycle users in the city of Padang is not proportional to the number of motorcycle repair service providers. Especially in Parupuk Tabing Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City, the increase in the number of motorcycles is not proportional to the number of existing motorcycle repair shops. The opportunity to create a motorcycle workshop entrepreneur in this area is very promising.Life skill training for motorcycle mechanics for unemployed people aims to generate an entrepreneurial spirit by creating new entrepreneurs for motorcycle repair shops independently, and also providing assistance in the form of basic equipment to create new entrepreneurs for motorcycle repair shops.The implementation of PKM activities is carried out with the obligation to comply with health protocols in the Jondul 1 field, RW XVI, Parupuk Tabing Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City, West Sumatra. The number of unemployed people who will take part in this training are 30 people. The implementation method approach used is (1) the lecture and question and answer method (2) the discussion method (3) the practical method, and (4) the guidance and evaluation method.The results of the training showed a high level of interest, participation and activeness of participants in participating in the training.
