Abstract

The problem in this study was the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students in Pancasila Education. This study aimed to: (1) determine the effect of parental attention on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, (2) determine the effect of learning motivation on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, and (3) determine the combined effect of parental attention and learning motivation on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education. The method used in this study was multiple regression with an ex post facto research design. The population of this study consisted of 151 students, and the sample was determined using proportionate stratified random sampling, resulting in a sample of 109 students. Data collection techniques used non-test methods in the form of questionnaires and documentation. The data collection instruments were parental attention and learning motivation questionnaires using a Likert scale, which had passed validity and reliability tests. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The results of the study showed that: (1) there was an effect of parental attention on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, (2) there was an effect of learning motivation on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, and (3) there was a combined effect of parental attention and learning motivation on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

The primary concern of this study is the low learning motivation among fourth-grade elementary school students. This research aims to determine the effect of social interaction on students’ learning motivation. This study employed a quantitative research method using an ex post facto approach. The population consisted of 189 students, with a sample of 129 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, supported by observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results showed that social interaction has a significant effect on the learning motivation of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematical critical thinking ability of fourth grade elementary school students. The research aimed to examine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament learning model assisted by Baamboozle media on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of all fourth grade students, while the sample was divided into an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class received instruction using the Teams Games Tournament model assisted by Baamboozle, whereas the control class was taught using conventional learning. Data were collected through a critical thinking test administered before and after treatment. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in the experimental class compared to the control class. The average posttest score and N-Gain value in the experimental class were higher, indicating that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament model supported by interactive game-based media created a more active learning environment and encouraged student participation in problem solving. Therefore, the Teams Games Tournament learning model assisted by Baamboozle has a positive effect on improving elementary students’ mathematical critical thinking ability.

Abstract

The problem of low science learning outcomes at SD Negeri 01 Bukit Kemuning in science learning for grade V is the main focus of this study. This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning Model on the Learning Outcomes of Grade V Students in the Science Subject of Elementary Schools. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design method with a nonequivalent control group design. Determination of the research sample uses a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique. The population in this study amounted to 75 students with the samples used being students in grades V A and V B. Data were collected using test and non-test techniques in the form of observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using a simple Linear Regression Test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence on the application of the Project-Based Learning model on the learning outcomes of grade V students in the science subject of elementary school.

Abstract

The problem of this research is the low learning outcomes of Pancasila Education for fifth-grade students at SDN 5 Metro Pusat, due to the lack of variety of learning models and learning media applied. This research aimed to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in elementary school in the subject of Pancasila Education by using make a match model assisted by puzzle media. This study employed a quantitative research approach using an experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The population in the study is all students of fifth-grade of SDN 5 Metro Pusat, totaling 55 students. The sampling technique employed in this study was non-probability sampling using total sampling, in which 28 students from class VA were assigned as the experimental group and 27 students in the control class. The data collection technique in the form of achievement tests, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an influence and significant difference from the use of the make a match model assisted by puzzle media on learning outcomes in Pancasila education subjects for fifth-grade students at SDN 5 Metro Pusat academic year 2025/2026.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the level of learning activeness among students at SDN Baniaga, focusing on aspects of collaboration, engagement, and motivation. The research employed a case study approach involving questionnaires, observations, and interviews with 30 fifth-grade students. The findings reveal that students demonstrate relatively high levels of collaboration and engagement; however, challenges remain in terms of motivation and active participation. These results highlight the need for implementing more interactive and inclusive learning strategies to enhance student learning activeness. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educators and schools in creating a learning environment that supports both academic and social development of students.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing (RMS) learning model on students' scientific literacy skills in the IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) subject of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Suka Bhakti. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design and a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 43 students selected through saturated sampling, comprising 23 students in the control class (VA) and 20 students in the experimental class (VB). The experimental class received treatment using the RMS learning model, while the control class used the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments, as well as student activity observation sheets. Data analysis used simple linear regression and independent samples t-test. The results showed: (1) there was a significant effect of the RMS learning model on students' scientific literacy skills, with an R Square value of 0.617, indicating that 62% of the variation in scientific literacy was explained by the RMS model; (2) there was a significant difference between the RMS and PBL models on students' scientific literacy, with the experimental class achieving a higher average post-test score (74.3) compared to the control class (66.7). These findings confirm that the RMS learning model is more effective in improving scientific literacy skills than the PBL model at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the vocabulary learning strategies used by students of the 2023 cohort of the English Study Program at the University of Riau. The research was conducted in response to students’ recurring difficulties in remembering, understanding, and applying new vocabulary in language learning, which highlights the importance of identifying the strategies they employ. The population consisted of 113 students, of whom 36 participated in a try-out to ensure the reliability and validity of the 28-item Likert-scale questionnaire adapted from Schmitt’s (1997) taxonomy of vocabulary learning strategies. The main sample comprised 77 students selected through simple random sampling. This study employed a quantitative descriptive research design, and descriptive statistical analysis was used to determine the frequency of strategy use across five categories: determination, social, memory, cognitive, and metacognitive strategies. The findings indicate varying levels of strategy use, with Memory Strategies emerging as the most frequently applied (mean = 2.96), particularly through verbal repetition and associating new vocabulary with personal experiences. Social Strategies were also widely used (mean = 2.90), demonstrating students’ reliance on peers and instructors when encountering unfamiliar words. Determination Strategies (mean = 2.87) and Metacognitive Strategies (mean = 2.78) were used moderately, while Cognitive Strategies were the least employed (mean = 2.71). Overall, the results show that students predominantly rely on memory-based and socially oriented strategies, underscoring the significance of personal association, collaborative learning, and strategic awareness in supporting effective vocabulary acquisition.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya capaian hasil belajar IPAS peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 12 Metro Pusat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang berbantuan media Kahoot terhadap hasil belajar IPAS peserta didik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi experiment melalui desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 12 Metro Pusat tahun ajaran 2025/2026 yang berjumlah 34 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh, sehingga seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel, dengan kelas VA sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VB sebagai kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL berbantuan media Kahoot memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar IPAS. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui uji independent sample t-test yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model PBL berbantuan Kahoot efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPAS peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 12 Metro Pusat tahun ajaran 2025/2026.
