Abstract

Background: Natural disasters pose significant risks to vulnerable populations, particularly pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, who face increased health and safety challenges during emergencies. Strengthening disaster preparedness through accessible educational strategies is essential to improve resilience and reduce adverse outcomes. Objective: This study aimed to develop and evaluate an Android-based application as an educational tool to enhance disaster preparedness among maternal populations. Methods: This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg and Gall model, followed by feasibility and effectiveness evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, validation assessments, and structured questionnaires. The application was tested among pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women using a pretest–posttest design to assess changes in disaster preparedness knowledge. Results: The developed application, named “Ibu Siaga Bencana,” demonstrated high content and media validity. Preliminary testing showed good usability and practicality. Effectiveness evaluation indicated a 40% increase in participants' disaster preparedness knowledge following application use, suggesting a substantial improvement in understanding. Conclusion: The application is a feasible and effective educational tool for improving disaster preparedness among maternal populations. Further studies with larger samples and more rigorous designs are needed to confirm its effectiveness and long-term impact.

Abstract

This paper investigates the impact of transformer grounding configurations on Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV) during fault current interruption in high-voltage power systems. The study evaluates three grounding schemes: Solid–Solid, Solid–Floating, and Solid–Resistance, applied on a step-down transformer located at the Tello substation. Each configuration was modeled and simulated using ETAP 19 software to observe TRV behavior under three-phase fault conditions. The results demonstrate significant variations in TRV profiles depending on the grounding type. The Solid–Solid configuration exhibits the highest TRV peak (22,500 V) and the steepest Rate of Rise of Recovery Voltage (RRRV), reaching 833.33 kV/ms, indicating severe stress on circuit breaker insulation. In contrast, the Solid–Floating configuration yields a moderate TRV peak (19,800 V) with less consistent waveform stability due to the absence of a defined secondary reference. Meanwhile, the Solid–Resistance scheme, using a 20 Ω resistor, produces the most damped TRV waveform with the lowest peak (17,100 V) and RRRV (approximately 589.66 kV/ms), offering improved insulation coordination. The comparative analysis confirms that controlled grounding through resistance effectively mitigates TRV magnitude and oscillation, making it a viable approach to enhance circuit breaker performance and reliability. These findings can be used to guide grounding system design in high-voltage substations to reduce the risk of re-ignition or insulation failure.

Abstract

Gorontalo City is a developing city, has several public spaces to support all community activities, such as city parks, street corners, markets, terminals and buildings. As one of the efforts to provide public open space, the Simpang Lima Roundabout Area was built which has a positive impact on the development of regional and surrounding activities, the existence of this area is experiencing congestion caused by several factors, such as traffic density, the emergence of formal activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of utilization of public open space at the Simpang Lima Roundabout. This study uses a positivistic paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach supported by survey methods. The results showed that this pattern of open space utilization occurred in a circular or radial manner and linearly followed the circulation path, the use of open space at the intersection of five detected was shopping, meeting and chatting. Keywords: Public Open Space; Simpang Lima; Utilization Pattern

Abstract

Background: Injectable contraceptives are the most widely used family planning method in Indonesia, accounting for approximately 63.7% of all contraceptive users. However, the use of three-month injectable contraceptives is often associated with side effects such as dizziness, menstrual irregularities, bleeding, and weight gain, which may influence acceptors’ knowledge and attitudes. Objective: This study aimed to examine the association between knowledge and attitudes of contraceptive acceptors and the side effects of three-month injectable contraceptives at a private midwifery practice. Methods: This study employed an analytic cross-sectional design. The study was conducted over five days at Midwife Hj. Lindawati’s Practice in Kembang Tanjong District, with a total population of 144 acceptors. A sample of 59 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using appropriate statistical tests to determine the association between variables. Results: The findings showed a statistically significant association between knowledge and the side effects of three-month injectable contraceptives (p = 0.002; p < 0.05). Similarly, a significant association was found between attitudes and the side effects of three-month injectable contraceptives (p = 0.002; p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant association between knowledge and attitudes of contraceptive acceptors and the side effects of three-month injectable contraceptives. Improving knowledge and fostering positive attitudes among acceptors may help in managing and reducing the impact of these side effects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze financial performance in predicting profit growth at PT PLN (Persero) UID SULSELRABAR during the 2020-2022 period. The sample used consists of balance sheets and income statements from the financial reports of PT PLN. The method employed in this research is quantitative analysis, with a focus on profitability analysis. The results show that the company's financial performance, measured through the Profitability Ratio, particularly the Net Profit Margin, is considered suboptimal due to significant fluctuations over the study period. In 2021, Return on Assets (ROA) decreased by 16.62%, but it recovered with a 10% increase in 2022. Conversely, Return on Investment (ROI) showed significant improvement, rising from -43.92% in 2021 to -6.33% in 2022. However, Return on Equity (ROE) exhibited a negative trend, with a 20.75% decline in 2021, followed by a further decrease of 10.88% in 2022, indicating subpar performance. The company’s profit growth also experienced a drastic decline over the 2020-2022 period, with a 9.41% drop in 2022, reflecting challenges in maintaining profitability amidst fluctuating financial performance.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strengthening of the village economy thru the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the improvement of children's financial literacy in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu District. MSMEs play an important role in increasing the economic independence of rural communities, while financial literacy for children is seen as strategic for building a generation that is aware of financial management from an early age. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that empowering MSMEs in Paluh Sibaji Village has contributed to increasing family income and expanding employment opportunities. On the other hand, children's financial literacy programs have a positive impact on children's mindset regarding the importance of saving, small entrepreneurship, and managing their pocket money wisely. Collaboration between MSMEs and children's financial literacy education has proven to be an effective strategy in creating sustainable economic resilience in villages. This research confirms that strengthening the rural economy lies not only in the productive aspects of the community, but also in the formation of the financial character of the younger generation.
