Abstract

This service activity aims to train Sabuhur villagers in making liquid fertilizer for orchid care. Sabuhur villagers are members of KTH Amabilis Lestari and KTH Pantai Baru, who are assisted by the South Kalimantan BKSDA in an effort to conserve Kalimantan orchids.  They are under the guidance of South Kalimantan Natural Resources Conservation Center which is active in saving local Kalimantan orchids. The conservation activity by carried out the orchids from the forest around Sabuhur village which will be converted into plantation areas or mining land. The rescue activities were also carried out after a storm caused many trees had fallen, where the orchids were lived. The orchids are maintained around their homes using simple methods without fertilizer application regularly due to the high cost of the fertilizer. This project teaches orchid caretakers how to generate organic fertilizer from household garbage. Lambung Mangkurat University's community service team collaborated with Muhammad Al Banjari Islamic University of South Kalimantan and the Natural Resources Conservation Agency of South Kalimantan to provide training on the production of liquid organic fertilizer and eco-enzymes. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leadership style and organizational culture on motivation as an intervening impact on the performance of employees in the Manufacture company in the Karawang International Industry City (K II C) (case of the case in the company PT. Dai-chi Kimia Raya). The sample in this study was 185 employees. Data analysis methods use sem-pls with SmartPLS 3.0 applications. The results showed that organizational culture had a positive but not significant effect on employee motivation at PT. Dai-chi Kimia Raya. In the leadership style variable it is known to have an influence on employee motivation. Organizational culture directly affects employee performance of 0.134 or (13.4%) while leadership style variables have a significant effect directly on employee performance of 0.512 or (51.2%). In the working motivation variable on employee performance obtained a coefficient value of 0.463 or (46.3%). This can be concluded that the leadership style has a significant influence directly greater than organizational culture on employee performance. On indirect influence, organizational cultural variables have indirect influence on employee performance through work motivation by 0.042 or (4.2%) while the leadership style variable has indirect influence on employee performance through work motivation of 0.096 or (9.6 %). It can be concluded that leadership styles have indirect influence greater than organizational culture on employee performance through work motivation. The value of R Square for the working motivation variable obtained is 0.053 or 5.3%. The value of R Square for the employee performance variable obtained is 0.618 or 61.8%. These results show that leadership style, organizational culture and work motivation together have an effect of 61.8% of employee performance.

Abstract

Kelurahan Kuin Selatan merupakan wilayah kawasan dataran rendah/tinggi/rawa dan dekat dengan sungai. Yang dinama angka Buang Air Sembarangan (BABS) di sungai hampir 95%. Sehingga dengan begitu juga angka kejadian penyakit yang disebabkan oleh air juga tinggi. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan oengabdian kepada masyarakat ialah sosialisasi pelatihan pembuatan tripikon kemudian diakhiri dengan pemasangan tripikon di tempat yang telah disepakati bersama mitra. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ialah berdasarkan hasil pre-test nilai rerata tingkat pengetahuan peserta tentang tripikon dan manfaatny sebesar 65 dengan nilai maksimum adalah 75. Dan nilai minimum adalah 45, kemudian dilakukannya sosialisasi serta pelatihan pembuatan tripikon setelah diberikan intervensi dilakukan post-test menjadi 87 dengan nilai maksimum adalah 100 dan nilai minimum 76. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rerata skor pengetahuan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan serta pelatihan pembuatan tripikon. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ialah mitra mampu dan memahami tripikon serta mampu mempraktikkan membuat tripikon guna menjaga sanitasi lingkungan khususnya daerah sungai sekitar kuin selatan.

Abstract

The prevalence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in this modern era has been one of the major interests in translation studies. The ability of AI to produce human-like translations has become an ongoing discussion among scholars. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the utility of AI in providing alternatives for journalistic text translation results made by English Department students of Universitas Palangka Raya during a Translation Course. Given the communicative nature of journalistic texts, this study explores how culturally distinctive features, such as idioms, collocations, traditional language nuances, and organization names, are translated from Indonesian into English. By referring to translation strategies adapted from Newmark (1988), Hoed (2006), and Baker (2011), translation results made by students are compared with those generated by AI technology, i.e. DeepL and ChatGPT. Since creativity is one of the key characteristics of human translation, this study examines whether AI systems can be reliable tools for demonstrating the same creativity level. Translation creativity in this study refers to the ability to select the most effective strategies and wording to produce better translation versions of those culturally distinctive features. This study is expected to shed light on the evolving role of AI in the field of translation.

Abstract

The current environmental crisis is an important issue that is the focus of research globally, including in Indonesia. Therefore, this research is an effort to explore trends in environmentally sound literary research in Indonesia. The research process was carried out by combining statistical data combined with descriptive analysis. Therefore, mixed-method research methods are considered appropriate to use.  Research data is a source of literary ecology research trends taken from the Google Scholar database. The data source is Google Scholar. Data retrieval using the Publish or Perish app. The data is taken by entering the keyword "literary ecology" in the Google Scholar database drop-down menu. Once the data is retrieved, it is then analyzed using the Vosviewer application. Vosviewer analysis can display research trends, research topic relationships, research developments from year to year, and various research information, in accordance with the research focus based on data inputted in the application The results of the study show that literary ecology research in Indonesia has only developed in at least the last five years. In quantity, the amount of literary ecology research in Indonesia is increasing. In terms of the quantity of types of relationships with various other scientific terminology, the number is still small. Meanwhile, in terms of research trends with literary ecology research topics have shown progress that continues to develop by involving other sciences. This is certainly a good development in scientific debate, because the issue of environmental crisis discussed through literary ecology involves various other scientific fields for the purpose of solving environmental problems globally. An important implication of this research is that information about literary ecology research trends in Indonesia can be an important source of knowledge to see the efforts of the Indonesian people in their participation in dealing with global environmental problems. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the importance of emotional intelligence in shaping the character of a figure in a literary work, especially female characters who face complex emotional conflicts. The novel Sabiya Luka yang Kau Torehkan by Mellyana Dhian was chosen because it presents a main character who experiences betrayal and deep inner dynamics. The focus of this research is to describe the form of emotional intelligence of the main character in the novel, as well as how emotional intelligence influences decision making and character development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, and analyzes the contents of the novel based on Daniel Goleman's emotional intelligence theory which includes five main aspects: recognizing one's own emotions, managing emotions, motivating oneself, recognizing other people's emotions, and building relationships. Data were obtained through reading and note-taking techniques from the novel text. The results of the study show that the main character in the novel has the ability to manage emotions significantly, which is reflected in self-control, resilience in dealing with trauma, and the ability to build healthy interpersonal relationships even under pressure. The main conclusion of this study is that emotional intelligence plays an character, as well as being the main force in dealing with conflict and rebuilding a more meaningful life. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kecerdasan emosional dalam membentuk karakter tokoh dalam karya sastra, khususnya tokoh perempuan yang menghadapi konflik emosional kompleks. Novel Sabiya Luka yang Kau Torehkan karya Mellyana Dhian dipilih karena menampilkan tokoh utama yang mengalami pengkhianatan dan dinamika batin mendalam. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk kecerdasan emosional tokoh utama dalam novel tersebut, serta bagaimana kecerdasan emosional memengaruhi pengambilan keputusan dan perkembangan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, serta menganalisis isi novel berdasarkan teori kecerdasan emosional Daniel Goleman yang mencakup lima aspek utama: mengenali emosi diri, mengelola emosi, memotivasi diri, mengenali emosi orang lain, dan membina hubungan. Data diperoleh melalui teknik baca dan catat dari teks novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh utama dalam novel memiliki kemampuan mengelola emosi secara signifikan, yang tercermin dari pengendalian diri, ketahanan menghadapi trauma, serta kemampuan membangun hubungan interpersonal yang sehat meski dalam tekanan. Simpulan utama dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kecerdasan emosional berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter tangguh pada tokoh utama, serta menjadi kekuatan utama dalam menghadapi konflik dan membangun kembali kehidupan yang lebih bermakna.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the character education values contained in the novel Cinta di Langit Qatar by Defi Taslim. The novel was selected as the research source because it portrays the life journey of adolescents filled with moral lessons and character-building experiences. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with Zubaedi’s theory of character education as the analytical framework. The data consisted of words, phrases, sentences, and excerpts of narration and dialogue that reflect character education values. Data were collected through literature review and note-taking techniques, while data analysis involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal twelve character education values reflected in the novel: religiousness, honesty, discipline, hard work, independence, patriotism, friendliness or communicativeness, peace-loving, social care, love of reading, curiosity, and responsibility. Among these, religiosity emerges as the most dominant value, serving as the moral foundation that guides the characters’ actions and decision-making. These findings affirm that literary works can function as effective educational media for the internalization of character values, as moral messages are conveyed contextually through conflicts, dialogues, and the emotional experiences of the characters.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kader Pemuda Muhammadiyah, PCM Patikraja dalam bidang kewirausahaan, khususnya dalam pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC), pengelolaan keuangan berbasis akuntansi, serta pengemasan dan pemasaran produk. Permasalahan dominan yang dihadapi mitra adalah belum dimilikinya pengetahuan dan ketrampilan mitra tentang pembuatan pupuk organik cair (POC) dari limbah sampah organik, akuntansi sederhana dan pemasaran produk POC. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka perlu dilakukan transfer teknologi terkait pengolahan limbah sampah organik menjadi POC yang dapat berjalan secara berkelanjutan dan dapat memberikan keuntungan secara ekonomi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan yang melibatkan teori dan praktik langsung, di mana para peserta diberikan pemahaman tentang proses pembuatan POC yang efektif, pengelolaan keuangan yang transparan dan sesuai standar akuntansi, serta teknik pengemasan dan strategi pemasaran yang tepat guna untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada keterampilan peserta, terutama dalam hal pemahaman pembuatan POC yang berkualitas, pengelolaan keuangan yang efisien, dan kemampuan untuk memasarkan produk secara lebih efektif. Penerapan IPTEK dalam kegiatan ini tidak hanya memberikan pengetahuan teknis, tetapi juga memperkuat kapasitas kader dalam menghadapi tantangan kewirausahaan di bidang pertanian dan lingkungan hidup.

Abstract

Abstract. This research investigates the material needs of third-year students enrolled in two classes of Translation courses at Universitas Palangka Raya, aiming to inform the development of a comprehensive translation module. A total of 108 students participated in the study, providing valuable insights through a structured questionnaire designed to assess their specific requirements for translation materials. A qualitative approach using structured questionnaires was used, allowing for both thematic analysis of open-ended responses and percentage-based summaries of closed-ended items. This enabled an in-depth understanding of the students’ perspectives and learning needs. The findings revealed that the majority of students felt the current materials were adequate, but highlighted the need for a more structured and accessible module. Specifically, students expressed a desire for materials that bridge the gap between theory and practice, including more examples, practical exercises, and structured guidance across different types of texts, such as academic, commercial, and literary works. The results underscore the importance of developing a tailored translation module that not only covers the theoretical aspects of translation but also provides ample opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in practice. This study provides a foundational basis for enhancing the Translation courses at Universitas Palangka Raya, ensuring that the curriculum aligns more closely with the actual needs of students.Keywords: : translation, module, learning materials, EFL students, need analysis
