Abstract

The research problem comes from the production factors of cassava crackers. This research aims to describe the production factors of the cracker business. The research used a qualitative method to describe the production factors of the cassava cracker business in Sungai Sahurai Village. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis with data reduction refers to the research objectives, presentation of data obtained in the field, and conclusion. Testing data validity through triangulation and member check.  Based on the results of the study, it was found that the production activities of the cassava crackers business have several factors in the form of raw materials, capital, labour, and entrepreneurial skills. The primary raw material is cassava, capital whose source comes from its own and borrowed capital, labour, namely the business actors themselves, and additional labour and entrepreneurial skills that are passed down from generation to generation. This study concludes that in Sungai Sahurai Village, most of the residents have a cassava cracker business; these business activities can take place and still exist today because there are production factors that support each other.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris sudah sepatutnya diperkenalkan sejak di bangku sekolah dasar, namun tidak semua sekolah dasar menerapkan mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris, seperti di SDN 4 Samba Danum yang terletak di Kabupaten Katingan, Kalimantan Tengah. Sekolah ini tidak memiliki guru untuk mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, di Desa Samba Danum tidak terdapat lembaga bimbingan belajar Bahasa Inggris. Faktor ekonomi juga berkontribusi terhadap kesulitan anak-anak di desa ini dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris. Berdasarkan masalah ini, penulis melaksanakan program bimbingan belajar Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa SDN 4 Samba Danum dengan tujuan agar mereka dapat mengenal dan mempelajari Bahasa Inggris. Hasil dari program bimbingan belajar Bahasa Inggris ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa sangat antusias dan semangat untuk belajar Bahasa Inggris. Dalam setiap pertemuan siswa menjadi semakin percaya diri dalam menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Pelaksanaan kegiatan bimbingan belajar Bahasa Inggris ini berjalan dengan sangat lancar dari awal hingga akhir pertemuan. Hasil pengabdian ini memberikan gambaran pelaksanaan bimbingan belajar untuk Bahasa Inggris di daerah yang tidak menerapkan pengajaran Bahasa Inggris secara formal.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to identify the main factor that influences students when learning English. A survey was conducted with 57 students from the English Education Study Program at the University of Nias participating. Data was gathered using a questionnaire on Google Form that employed a Likert scale, and it was analyzed statistically to obtain descriptive statistics and Pearson Correlation results. The results reveal that intelligence shows a perfect positive correlation in sig. (2-tailed) with all factors at levels of 0.01 and 0.05. It has an unstandardized coefficient (B) of 4.439 and a standard error of 0.657, culminating in a t-value of 6.761. The significance level of intelligence is below 0.001, suggesting that it is an extremely important part of the model. The conclusion of the research indicates that intelligence is the primary factor among all the influences on students in learning English, as determined by Beta Coefficient.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of using the Odd One Out game to improve students’ knowledge of clothing-related English vocabulary. The research includes introducing the Odd One Out game to students, explaining its concepts, planning and designing lessons using this game, evaluating and measuring learning outcomes. The study was conducted at SDN 6 Menteng, Central Kalimantan, involving 26 fifth-grade students from class 5B. This game incorporates in-depth material exploration, development of learning activities, and group discussions in the classroom. Implementing the Odd One Out game has demonstrated that students in the school significantly improved their knowledge of clothing-related English vocabulary. The learning process also fostered a competitive and engaging classroom environment. The implementation of the learning process through the Odd One Out game was conducted successfully and efficiently. Game-based learning methods can serve as an effective solution to address the low interest of elementary school students in learning English vocabulary.

Abstract

Penurunan angka kematian ibu (AKI) menjadi tantangan pembangunan kesehatan saat ini. Salah satu bentuk intervensi yang dapat dilakukan adalah peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang perawatan prenatal melalui kelas ibu hamil (KIH). Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pembentukan KIH dan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang perawatan prenatal. 22 ibu hamil yang berasal Posyandu Merah Delima, Jojogan berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukan bahwa masih ada 20% ibu hamil dengan resiko kehamilan berdasarkan usia, paritas, dan trimester kehamilan. Lebih lanjut, pengetahuan mereka tentang perawatan prenatal juga masih kurang. Pengadaan kelas ibu hamil mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan perawatan prenatal. Sebelum mengikuti KIH terdapat 13,64% ibu hamil yang memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang tetapi setelah mengikuti kegiatan KIH pengetahuan mereka meningkat. Reaktivasi kelas ibu hamil harus dilakukan sebagai bagian dari gerakan sayang ibu

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merepresentasikan sisi positif dan negatif manusia berdasarkan nilai humanisme yang dikemukakan oleh Mangunwijaya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik triangulasi untuk memastikan keabsahan data. Data pada penelitian disajikan melalui teks deskripsi yang merepresentasikan sisi positif dan negatif manusia sesuai dengan nilai humanisme yang dikemukakan oleh Mangunwijaya. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah novel Namaku Alam karya Leila Chudori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel Namaku Alam terdapat dua bentuk sisi manusia yakni sisi positif dan sisi negatif yang sesuai dengan nilai humanisme, kedua sisi tersebut terdiri dari lima sisi positif manusia dan enam sisi negatif manusia sesuai dengan teori humanisme Mangunwijaya. Sisi positif manusia muncul dalam bentuk sikap memiliki jiwa seni yang tinggi, suka tolong menolong dan bekerjasama, berhati lembut dan ramah, ikatan kekeluargaan yang kuat, dan memiliki kecerdasan yang cukup baik sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh tokoh-tokohnya dalam menghadapi kehidupan. Sebaliknya, sisi negatif manusia tampak melalui perilaku munafik, enggan bertanggungjawab, tidak memiliki prinsip yang kuat, boros, tidak mau bekerja keras, menormalisasi kekerasan fisik dan verbal, yang muncul sebagai respons terhadap tekanan sosial maupun pengalaman. Implikasi penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman kepada pembaca mengenai karya sastra, mengembangkan penelitian sastra terhadap realitas kehidupan bermasyarakat dalam perspektif sosiologi sastra dan humanisme, serta relevansinya dengan realitas sosial dan kemanusiaan.

Abstract

Tourism literature has increasingly been recognized as a strategic medium for promoting local wisdom–based tourism. In this regard, the present study aims to investigate the function of literary tourism texts published by the Balai Bahasa Jawa Tengah in representing and promoting tourism destinations in Central Java. Employing a qualitative approach with a literature study method, five tourism-themed texts were analyzed using Huberman and Miles’ analytical framework. The findings indicate that Festival Layang-Layang di Pantai Ketawang, Gerabah Mak Nah, Ingin Melihat Dieng Culture Festival, Berkunjung di Desa Klipoh, and Jangan Macam-macam dengan Keluarga Mosi represent tourism destinations and activities in explicit, semi-explicit, and symbolic forms. Furthermore, the texts play a strategic role in tourism promotion by (1) emphasizing the uniqueness of destinations, (2) constructing family-oriented attractions, and (3) embedding the values of conservation, education, collaboration, and digitalization. In conclusion, literary tourism, positioned within the scope of digital literacy, not only promotes tourism through narrative representations of cultural distinctiveness and added value, but also enhances its relevance and fosters stronger emotional engagement among childrens audiences.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning experience and English exposure level of English Language Education students at Palangka Raya University. The study used mixed methods with data collection through closed-ended questionnaires and open-ended questions, which were analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that most students have a fairly positive learning experience, especially in terms of motivation and engagement. However, the active use of English is still inconsistent. Informal exposure to English through digital media appears to be more dominant, with a higher tendency of utilizing entertainment content than educational content. Meanwhile, the use of English in formal contexts and social environments is still relatively limited. These findings emphasize the importance of learning strategies that are able to combine formal, informal, and self-learning approaches in a balanced manner to support students' overall mastery of English.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relevance and pedagogical implications of Suryawinata and Hariyanto’s translation theory in Indonesian senior high school contexts. Translation is recognized not only as a linguistic skill but also as a tool to develop students’ cultural understanding and critical thinking in English language education. Employing a qualitative descriptive design in the form of a literature review, the study analyzed 46 sources, including books, journal articles, and conference proceedings, published between 2009 and 2025 in both Indonesian and English. These sources were selected based on their relevance to translation pedagogy, strategies, and classroom practices. The findings indicate that the structured stages of the Suryawinata and Hariyanto model (analysis, transfer, restructuring, and evaluation) align well with the needs of Indonesian high school students and can support curriculum goals by promoting linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Despite challenges such as limited class time, varying student proficiency levels, and lack of specialized teaching materials, the model offers opportunities for integration into project-based learning, formative assessment, and cross-curricular instruction. The novelty of this study lies in its systematic synthesis of translation theory and its practical connection to secondary education, an area that has been underexplored in previous research. This review provides a foundation for future instructional innovation and material development, particularly for teachers, curriculum designers, and educational researchers seeking to enhance English language learning through translation.

Abstract

Umumnya limbah nanas seperti halnya kulit nanas tidak termanfaatkan dengan baik dan dianggap sebagai sampah yang seharusnya dibuang. Padahal kulit nanas mengandung senyawa yang berpotensi sebagai anti bakteri. Salah satu pemanfaatan limbah kulit nanas adalah sebagai bahan utama dalam pembuatan sabun cuci piring. Sabun cuci piring yang dihasilkan dari olahan limbah kulit nanas dan irisan buah nanas memiliki aroma yang segar dan daya cuci yang baik serta lembut ditangan. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat Kabupaten Pemalang Desa Mendelem khususnya dusun Kemesu dalam memanfaatkan limbah kulit nanas yang banyak dibuang atau tidak dimanfaatkan di Desa ini dimana nanas menjadi salah satu andalan produk pertanian yang di hasilkan dari Pemalang. Dengan adanya sosialisasi cara pembuatan sabun cuci piring ini diharapkan masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan limbah nanas menjadi produk yang lebih bermanfaat dan lebih lanjut ibu-ibu rumah tangga Desa Mendelem dapat membuat sendiri sabun cuci piring untuk keperluan sendiri maupun untuk diperjualbelikan.
