Abstract

AbstractThe creation of dance “Apang Aruu” was inspired from Telinga Panjang tradition in Kayaan Mendalaam, Kapus Hulu regency. This tradition as identity of Apo Kayan ethnic such as Bahau, Kenyah and Kayaan. “Apang Aruu” was symbolized as the differences of human being and monkey, statue,  gender and also the beauty symbol of dayaknesse women in Kayaan Mandalaam. As the time goes by, Telinga Panjang tradition gradually extinct because of belief, education and lifestyle in modern era. “Apang Aruu" applies method and creation stage in dance work that involves exploration, data processing, implementation, evaluation and revision. This presentation creates the aesthetics of dance performances in terms of its movement and musical accompaniment, thus it is not just a spectacle for the audiences, but it will become an artwork whose musical accompaniment is appealing and captivating to be heard by audiences. Moreover, this work combines diverse and distinctive choreography. This work is not merely entertainment work, but there is innovation in developing a regional dance and it also contains educational aspects and moral messages offered. Abstract

AbstractThe study aimed to describe the structure of the Raddat Koko dance performance in Sekuduk Village, Sejangkung District, Sambas Regency. The research problems included motion, clothing, makeup, musical accompaniment, upper design, floor design, dramatic design, and the Raddat Koko dance performance. This research was conducted through descriptive methods, in the form of qualitative research and choreographic approaches. The sources of research data were observations, interviews, and documentation of interviewees namely Bahri, Kusnadi and Jurita. The techniques of data validity used triangulation and the techniques of data analysis were systematically collected and analyzed. The research findings showed that there were15 varieties of Raddat Koko dance divided into the initial, the middle (content) and the final movements. The costume employed in Teluk Belanga gown, belts, headbands, veils, and realist makeup. The upper design was high, low, medium, angular, symmetrical and asymmetrical. The dramatic design was in the form of multiple cones, with horizontal and zig-zag floor design. Groups design was in unison and turn. Music accompaniment used tar, long drums, and an Islamic rhyme. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to describe the meaning symbols of Penyambutan Pengantin dayak Taman dance costume in Kapuas Hulu. The research focused issues related to meaning symbols about color, motifs, and forms in the dance costume of Penyambutan Pengantin Dayak Taman Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu.Method used was a description with a qualitative form, the approach used is semiotics. The sources data in this research were the results of interview, firld notes and documentation with the speakers, namely Eugene Yohanes, Yuliana Langki, and Yakoba. Validity data testing technique used was source triangulation. The data analysis techniques used in this research are the sistematic compiling and analyzing. The results from this research was a Batang lalo that has the meaning symbols of gathering of men and women in a marriage that is a complete and unbroken and also as a symbol of fertility and a prayer for the bride and groom’s new life. Motif kaki burung that have the significance of the symbol as a foothold or power to build a home that will have many obstacles in the future that a family must face. Abstract

Siswa-siswi SMA sederajat yang ingin melanjutkan ke PTN dengan tes portofolio pada program studi kesenian adalah sasaran dari program sosialisasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Mempawah dengan peserta para guru seni budaya tingkat SMA dan para siswa. Kegiatan ini bertujuan agar memudahkan para siswa dan guru dalam memahami perubahan kebijakan tata aturan masuk Perguruan Tinggi dengan sistem portofolio untuk proses seleksi masuk ke Perguruan Tinggi. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu peserta kegiatan yang kemudian dapat menjadi fasilitator bagi siswa di SMA yang membutuhkan informasi mengenai sistem portofolio yang menjadi aturan baru untuk proses seleksi masuk ke Prodi Pendidikan Seni. Pelatihan ini sebagai hasil Kerjasama antara pelaksana dan mitra program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Universitas Tanjungpura. Usai Sosialisasi adaptasi perubahan kebijakan tata aturan masuk Perguruan Tinggi dengan sistem portofolio ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat bagi peserta kegiatan yang kemudian dapat menjadi fasilitator bagi siswa di SMA tersebut yang membuthkan informasi mengenai sistem portofolio yang menjadi aturan baru untuk proses seleksi masuk ke Prodi Pendidikan Seni. Selain itu, publikasi hasil PKM merupakan langkah awal agar PKM tersebut dapat berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan kualitas sumber daya manusia bangsa.

Abstract

The objective of this program is to raise cultural awareness, foster children’s involvement in the preservation of traditional arts, and encourage active community participation in the development of child-friendly sport tourism. The program integrates educational approaches, performing arts, and nature-based tourism activities to create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience for children aged 6 to 12 years. The implementation methods include community needs analysis, the design of training materials for traditional movement and songs, the execution of participatory workshops in open spaces (such as child-friendly integrated public spaces and nature tourism areas), the use of digital technology (regional music applications), and evaluations based on feedback from participants and the community. The program is carried out through collaboration among lecturers, students, local government, and the community. The outcomes of the activities show increased enthusiasm, active participation, and stronger social interaction among children and the local community. The novelty of the program lies in the integration of traditional movement and songs with digital technology as an educational medium for culturally-based child tourism promotion. This community service contributes to strengthening children’s character through cultural arts, developing community-based educational tourism destinations, and preserving local culture through a participatory intergenerational approach. The program serves as a model for inclusive and sustainable cultural tourism development that can be replicated in other tourism areas across Indonesia.

Abstract

Program pelatihan penciptaan tari ini dilaksanakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan keterampilan kreatif peserta didik SMA di Kota Pontianak dalam mencipta karya tari kreasi yang berakar pada budaya lokal. Kegiatan dirancang dengan pendekatan partisipatif berbasis praktik kreatif, yang menempatkan siswa sebagai subjek aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan program dilakukan melalui empat tahapan utama, yaitu persiapan dan koordinasi dengan sekolah mitra, pelatihan dan eksplorasi gerak, penggarapan karya secara kolaboratif, serta pementasan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini melibatkan kurang lebih 30 siswa dan 2 guru serta mahasiswa sebagai pendamping proses penciptaan para peserta didik dari SMA di Kota Pontianak dan sekitarnya. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan eksplorasi gerak siswa, dari kondisi awal sekitar 30% menjadi 85% setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Selain itu, seluruh peserta menunjukkan peningkatan keberanian tampil yang ditandai dengan partisipasi aktif dalam pementasan akhir, serta 90% peserta menyatakan pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap nilai-nilai budaya lokal sebagai sumber inspirasi penciptaan tari. Luaran kegiatan berupa lima karya tari kreasi tematik, modul pelatihan singkat, dan dokumentasi audiovisual dimanfaatkan oleh guru sebagai bahan ajar pendukung pembelajaran seni tari. Program ini memperkuat sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah serta berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai model pembelajaran seni berbasis budaya lokal di tingkat sekolah menengah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the empowerment of arts literacy through traditional dance learning in realizing SDGs 4 (Quality Education). The focus of the research is directed at the implementation of Traditional Dance at SMA Negeri 1 Tempunak, West Kalimantan. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of teachers and students, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study indicate that traditional dance learning makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of 21st-century education. Teachers have integrated local cultural values ​​into teaching and learning activities despite being limited by learning resources and understanding of arts literacy. Students showed improvements in critical thinking skills, creativity, communication, collaboration, and understanding of cultural meaning. Traditional dance learning has proven to be an effective arts literacy medium in developing students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor potential while fostering character and love for national culture. Thus, the conclusion is that the implementation of traditional dance-based arts learning not only strengthens arts and cultural literacy but also supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 through inclusive, contextual, and sustainable education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas nilai-nilai maskulinitas dalam Jepin Cangkah Pedang sebagai representasi identitas lelaki Melayu Pontianak. Kajian ini berangkat dari fenomena pergeseran makna maskulinitas akibat modernisasi dan globalisasi budaya yang menimbulkan stereotip terhadap peran laki-laki dalam seni tari. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis simbolisme gerak dalam Jepin Cangkah Pedang serta memahami bagaimana nilai-nilai maskulinitas diwujudkan dan dipertahankan dalam konteks sosial budaya masyarakat Melayu. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap pencipta, penggiat seni, serta akademisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jepin Cangkah Pedang memanifestasikan nilai maskulinitas melalui keseimbangan antara kekuatan dan kendali diri yang terepresentasi dalam gerak berpola silat dan penggunaan properti pedang serta cangkah. Tarian ini memuat lima nilai utama: keberanian, kehormatan, kendali diri, kepemimpinan, dan kebijaksanaan. Kelima nilai tersebut menegaskan peran lelaki Melayu sebagai penjaga marwah, pelindung komunitas, dan penegak etika sosial. Melalui struktur gerak yang terukur, disiplin tubuh, dan koordinasi ritmis, tarian ini berfungsi sebagai media pendidikan budaya yang menanamkan tanggung jawab moral dan kesadaran sosial. Secara kultural, Jepin Cangkah Pedang berperan sebagai ruang resistensi terhadap pergeseran nilai gender modern sekaligus sarana pelestarian identitas maskulin Melayu Pontianak. Tarian ini memperlihatkan bahwa kelelakian bukan ekspresi kekuasaan, tetapi wujud keseimbangan antara tenaga, kebijaksanaan, dan kehormatan dalam menjalankan tanggung jawab sosial dan budaya.
