Abstract

Bau Nyale is a Lombok Sasak tradition associated with Princess Mandalika's sacred and mythological qualities. Every year, this ritual is carried out as a manner of thanking Allah and honoring Princess Mandalika's sacrifice in preserving West Nusa Tenggara's integrity. This study aims to explain the distinction between sacredness and economic commodification in the Bau Nyale tradition. The research method used is qualitative, with a sociological approach to religion. The main informants in this study were forty people from elements of the Chief of Tribal Council, Tourism Operators, Religious Leaders, Village Youth, Village Apparatus, Economic Actors/ Traders, Participants/ Community who joined Bau Nyale, who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The research procedure was carried out in stages: data collection, reduction, presentation, and analysis. This study shows that the distinction between sacredness and economic commodification in the Bau Nyale tradition is seen in the socio-religious and cosmological form of the Sasak people of Lombok, which has an interpretation value between the society and tourism managers. Bau Nyale is a symbol of the success of the feast and a form of gratitude to God for the abundance of grace and gifts to the harvest, both in the agricultural and marine fields. The mythology of Princess Mandalika as a figure of wisdom represents the dignity and worth of the female figure of the Sasak people of Lombok. In addition, the Bau Nyale tradition has a tourism value that should be promoted to be known in foreign countries, aimed at boosting the economy of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is associated with various short-term effects such as developmental delays, decreased immune function, impaired cognitive function, and compromised metabolic systems. Furthermore, long-term consequences may include obesity, reduced glucose tolerance, coronary heart disease, hypertension, and osteoporosis. The limited understanding among healthcare cadres regarding comprehensive treatment necessitates interventions to aid in the assistance and recovery of infants identified as stunted. Objective: This activity aims to enhance the knowledge level concerning stunting among healthcare cadres. Method: The initiative will take the form of lectures, discussions, and case studies targeting 68 women from RW 07 cadres in Wonokromo Village. The stunting counseling event for RW 07 Health Cadre, Wonokromo Village, held on July 9 2023, was met with enthusiasm. Results: The presentation emphasized the significance of preventing stunting and highlighted the "1000 First Day of Life" initiative. The outreach activity effectively enhanced knowledge regarding stunting incidence, with 68 participants actively engaged, primarily comprising women aged 36 to 45 years, predominantly housewives. Conclusion: Analysis of pre-test and post-test results revealed a notable increase of 19.2%. Furthermore, the paired t-test demonstrated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test (α = 5%).

Abstract

RW 07 Wonokromo Subdistrict is a densely populated neighborhood characterized by a diverse culture that includes immigrants and permanent residents. Health cadres conduct activities related to measuring the growth and development of babies. This encourages researchers to investigate and describe parental parenting patterns and their implications for child development. This research uses a qualitative approach to describe parental parenting patterns and their impact on children's social-emotional development. Ninety- seven sources of information were consulted to gather relevant data for the study. Data collection involved measuring the age, height, and weight of toddlers. The technique employed for data collection was non-test, utilizing observation and questionnaires. As a data collection technique, observation involves observing patterns of human behavior in specific situations to gain insights into the desired phenomenon. Observation sheets were prepared and developed based on breastfeeding, complementary feeding (MPASI), family behavior, and parenting patterns toward children. Findings from the study revealed that while the informants displayed good knowledge and commitment regarding breastfeeding, not all of them provided colostrum to newborns. Mothers exhibited commendable activities in preparing and feeding food, with supervision during satisfactory meals. All mothers fulfilled their duties of accompanying their children during meals. The study also indicated that mothers played a vital role in maintaining children's health, focusing on body and oral hygiene. Mothers actively participated in establishing habits such as bathing their children regularly (2–3 times a day), using soap, and ensuring regular teeth brushing (2 times a day). Additionally, mothers ensured that children received sufficient rest during both day and night.

Abstract

Flooding is one of the natural disasters that frequently occurs in Indonesia, causing material losses and loss of life. To support early warning systems and risk mitigation, accurate flood prediction is needed. This study focuses on applying the Tsukamoto fuzzy logic method to predict flood potential in the Blitar Regency. The choice of this method is based on its ability to handle data uncertainty and produce more accurate predictions through the rule-based defuzzification process. The main variables analyzed include rainfall, river discharge, and regional characteristics that influence the likelihood of flooding. The results of the study show that the Tsukamoto fuzzy logic method can predict flood potential with a high level of accuracy, which is in line with findings from previous studies. It is hoped that this fuzzy logic-based prediction system can provide an effective solution for early warning, reduce the impact of flooding, and support decision-making in flood disaster mitigation in the Blitar Regency.

Abstract

The goal of marriage is to form a happy household and family in the context of sakinah mawaddah and warahmah families, which has implications for the benefit of the people. Each region has different wedding parties with their own characteristics in organizing them. The tradition of the Gunosari village community adds another way of arranging wedding ceremonies, namely, pamoghi. Traditions basically have a similar outline to offerings, begibeh (household furniture) and so on. Apart from the uniqueness of the term, this study also covers the process and its legal consequences. This research uses qualitative descriptive statistics and fieldwork. The results of this research show that the Pamogih tradition is a person's obligation to give items in a form such as necklaces, rings, dresses, and other household items agreed upon by both of them for celebrations, and these gifts are considered to have added value to society. This tradition is usually carried out before marriage ceremonies. Usually, goods are transferred after weddings. The legal consequences of violating or not following the Pamogih tradition include unfavorable opinions, slander, and community rejection.

Abstract

Ashabiyah is the most crucial thing in building integrity in the community's social life, especially in religious life. In Indonesia, various kinds of religions have developed, and differences in ethnicity, race, and language are unique features and challenges for the people of Indonesia. What's more, when talking about religion which is very risky in the history of the world and even in Indonesia, discrimination, violence, intolerance, and violence in the name of religion often become prolonged conflicts. Therefore, this research is presented as a sample form of the polarization of ashabiah from the Tanon community, which has differences in one social unit, even at a more micro level, that's the family. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach as the chosen approach. The design strategy that the researcher uses is to identify the nature of a community phenomenon based on the experiences of individuals who are members of the Tanon Village community, Papar District, Kediri Regency. The theory used is Talcott parson's theory of structural functionalism. The results of this study indicate that the function of the religious elite, abangan, and the Tanon community in the salvation system is one of the forums for building religious harmonization. In addition, the religious elite, in conveying their spiritual teachings from each religion, recognizes religion as a universal truth in Tanon society. The last is a customary ritual, and cultural traditions are a means of latency for the people of Tanon Village in forming a harmonious social life.
