Abstract

Abstract

The study aims to identify: patterns of multicultural education that foster tolerance in SMA BOPKRI 2, SMA N 3, and SMA Al-Azhar 9 Yogyakarta, and the ideal pattern of multicultural education for developing tolerance in senior high schools. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects included the principal, vice principal, and subject teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was ensured through triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that multicultural education patterns play an important role in developing tolerance in high schools. Specifically: SMA BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta implemented a multicultural approach in accordance with its mandate, vision, mission, and objectives as a multicultural school; SMA Negeri 3 applied a diversity literacy approach, emphasizing the management of student diversity across ethnic, racial, cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds; and SMA Al-Azhar 9 practiced an open and inclusive model of multicultural education aligned with the Islamic principle of Wasathiyah (moderation). The ideal model, which represents the novelty of this research, was conceptualized from the patterns identified in the three schools and is termed the “Moderate Tolerance Empathy Model of Multicultural Education.” This model emphasizes the values of moderate tolerance and empathy as key drivers of mindset, attitudes, and behavior in multicultural senior high schools.

Abstract

The existence of more and more street vendors often has a negative impact, especially on environmental issues. Where the environment becomes slum and also disturbs public facilities and motorists; besides that, it also disturbs the order, beauty, and neatness of the Situbondo Regency roads. Based on this, the Situbondo Regency Government formulated a policy in Regent Regulation Number 13 of 2023 concerning the Arrangement and Empowerment of Street Vendors. This study aimed to determine the implementation of Regent Regulation Number 13 of 2023 concerning the Arrangement and Empowerment of Street Vendors in Situbondo District at the Office of Cooperative, Industry, and Trade in Situbondo Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. This research is located on W.R. Supratman Street and Anggrek Street, Situbondo Regency, and at the Office of Cooperative, Industry, and Trade. The data collection methods in this study are interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Implementation of Regent Regulation Number 13 of 2023 concerning the Arrangement and Empowerment of Street Vendors in Situbondo District at the Office of Cooperative, Industry, and Trade in Situbondo Regency is reviewed by the George C. Edward III theoretical model. Edward III's theoretical model needs to be maximally implemented. This is because the four dimensions of Edward's theory still need to be implemented, which consist of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure.

Abstract

Electric vehicles are emerging as a key trend in sustainable mobility, mitigating emissions, and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The challenge in optimizing route modeling lies in some limitations, such as battery range, charging time, and the diversity of electric vehicle types. This article explores the optimality of routes in a multiple-trip distribution system using a heterogeneous fleet of electric vehicles. The electric vehicle routing problem is formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming aiming to find the most cost-efficient optimal route. A notable feature of the model allows electric vehicle fleets to undertake additional travel to complete distribution tasks, i.e., multiple trips. The model is implemented in two illustrative examples involving the delivery of goods using homogeneous and heterogeneous electric vehicle fleets characterized by loading and battery capacities. Each case includes one depot, 8 and 10 customers, and 2 battery swapping stations, solved using the branch-and-bound method through Lingo 18.0. Simulation results indicate that battery capacity and the presence of battery swapping stations significantly influence the routes selection.

Abstract

Community service is a form of movement in making a real contribution to society which aims to provide solutions to real problems that occur in society. Most of the Indonesian population still relies on the agriculture, plantation and livestock sectors to drive the economy. By-products in the form of waste are generally used as fertilizer which can actually be used as an alternative energy source. Biogas is a renewable energy produced through the process of anaerobic digestion of organic materials which is currently widely used by the community as an alternative energy to replace LPG for cooking and generator fuel to produce electricity. One of the utilization of non-hazardous biomass waste into energy in the form of biogas has been implemented in Tadukan Raga village in Sinembah Tanjung Muda (STM) Hilir District, Deli Serdang Regency which has been operated since 2018 and is equipped with a barn for mushroom cultivation. However, problems arise where the facility is abandoned where there is a lack of maintenance of biogas generation facilities and mushroom barns, lack of human resources and low understanding of the community, especially BUMDes in the management, development and business maintenance of this facility. Therefore, it is necessary to provide counseling and training to the community in the operation of biogas facilities, revitalize mushroom barns in biomass non-b3 waste utilization facilities and modify LPG stoves into biogas stoves and install stoves in residents' homes around Tungkusan hamlet. Tadukan Raga Village itself is a fostered village that has been used as a place for counseling and service from the University of North Sumatra to the community because there are still several things that need to be improved, so counseling is again carried out in this village.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the profile of multicultural awareness of the students' of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). This study used a descriptive approach by combining quantitative and qualitative methods (mix methods). The quantitative approach is used as the main method and the qualitative approach as the secondary method. The research population was students of Yogyakarta State University with a total of 29983 people. Multistage random sampling was conducted by dividing the population into two parts, namely groups of exact science students and social-humanities students, then the samples were taken. The sampling technique using the Lemeshow formula, obtained a sample of  95.73. To avoid a dropout of responses, the number of samples was rounded up to 200 people for each group of exact science students and social-humanities students with a total of 400 students for both groups. The data collection technique used a questionnaire which was adopted from the questionnaire developed by Tim Zamroni et al. Data analysis was quantitative analysis using T-test statistics. The results indicate that there are differences of the students'multicultural awareness based on scientific backgrounds, such as social humanities and science. This difference shows that scientific backgrounds can form different multicultural awareness. Socio-cultural background influences multicultural experiences in cultural communication and adaptation in social interactions. A holistic program is requiered to strengthen multi-cultural awareness among generation Z.
