Abstract

ABSTRACT - This research aims to improve student motivation in biology learning with implementation of Picture and Picture in grade students in SMP N 14 Surakarta of 2011/2012 academic year. This study is a Classroom Action Research with the research design consisting of two cycles and each cycle consisting of 4 stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were grade students of SMP N 14 Surakarta of 2011/2012 academic year, that are 40 students. The data collection was conducted using questionnaire, observation and interview methods. The data analysis technique employed in this research was qualitative analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The result of research showed that The means gain percent of each indicator of the students? motivation questionnaire for pre cycle was 72, 09%,, cycle I was 74,09 %and cycle II was 79,96%. The means gain percent of each indicator of the students? motivation observation for pre cycle was 50,9%, cycle I was 74,06 % and cycle II was 86,87%. According to the result above it means that applying of Picture And Picture  learning method can improve students motivation was 35,97% from result of observation and 10,5 % from result of questionare on class VIII D SMP N 14 Surakarta of 2011/2012 academic year   Keyword: Picture and Picture , students? motivation

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of guided inquiry method to the science process skills; 2) the influence of student?s learning interest to science process skills; 3) the interaction between learning method and learning interest to the science process skills. This research was quasi experiment research using Randomized Control Only design. Learning method and learning interest were independent variables and to science process skills was the dependent variable. The population of this research was all of  XI grade of natural science students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali. The samples of this research were the students of class XI IPA 2 as the experimental group and students of class XI IPA 6 as the control group.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data about science process skills collected by use observation. Learning interest measured by observation. The analysis was anava two away in different cell and the advance test used Bonfferoni test. The conclusion of this research were: 1) Guided Inquiry method had significant influence to science process skills on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; 2) Learning interest had significant influence to science process skills on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; 3) There wasn?t interaction between learning method and learning interest to science process skills on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research aims to improve  low quality of biology  in class X.2 SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2011/2012. Learning considered by  teacher?s performance, utility of facilities in the classroom, classroom climate, student?s scientific attitude, and student motivation of achievement applying for approach Contextual Teaching and Learning with Problem Posing model.  This research was a classroom action research which and performed  in three  cycles. Each  cycle  consisted  of  4  phases, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data  was  collected Tes and Non Tes by question, questionnaire, observation,  and manual interview. Data validation was used triangulation of methods and triangulation of observers. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive technique.  The results of this research showed that according triangulation the average percentage for  teacher?s performance in  pre cycle (60%), cycle I (86,67%), cycle II  (96,67%) and cycle III (100%);  classroom climate  pre cycle (54,16%), cycle I (68,05%), cycle II (76,38%) and cycle III (86,80%);  student?s scientific attitude    pre cycle (50,92%), cycle I (65,27%), cycle II (74,07%) and cycle III (83,79%); and  student motivation of achievement  pre cycle (57,71%), cycle I (65,75%), cycle II (74,38%) and cycle III (85,80%);  utility of learning facilities in the classroom have been optimally. The  results  showed  that  the  average  percentage  quality of   biology  learning  aspect such as  pre cycle (55,69%),  cycle I (71,43%), cycle II (80,37%) and cycle III (89,09%) (increase 33,4% from pre cycle to cycle III).  Cycles stopped in cycle III because the research target is achieved. The conclusion of this research describes that  the implementation of approach contextual teaching and learning with problem posing model  can improve quality of  biology  learning  considered by  teacher?s performance, utility  of facilities in the classroom,  classroom  climate,  student?s scientific attitude,  and student motivation of achievement in class X.2 at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2011/2012. Abstract

ABSTRACT - The purpose of this study was to (1) Identify the type of fungus found on red rice tape (Oryza sativa glabberima). (2) Determine differences in students the skills  to plan  experiments  in  teaching and learning process  with additional learning resources  in the form of modules  results  in  the learning process without additional module on research results of class X SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta. This study population is the entire class X SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta odd semester of the academic year 2011/2012. The sample in this study were students in class X-7  as a  control class  and the  class X-8  as a  class  experiment. Cluster sampling technique with Random Sampling. The results of biological research in the form of  modules  as  independent variables and  students'  skills  to plan  the experiment as the dependent variable. Data collection techniques of  the skills  to plan an experiment using the documentation and observation sheet. Techniques of data analysis using  t test.  This study is a  quasi-experimental studies  (Quasi Experiment) using Randomized Control Design Only. The results of  this study summed up as  follows:  (1) Fungi  in  the red  rice tape  involved in  rice  fermentation  process  found  two  genera  of  Saccharomyces and Aspergillus viewed from morphological features. (2) There are differences in students  the skills  to plan  experiments  in  teaching and learning process  with additional  learning resources  in the form of  modules  results  in  the learning process without additional module on research results of class X SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta.   Keywords: The Identification of Fungi, Skill For Planning A Research

Abstract

ABSTRACT - The purpose of this study is to improve student Questioning Participation on Biology teaching by implementation of Active Knowledge Sharing strategy on Blood System Regulation. This research is as classroom action research.  The experiment was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of the planning, acting, observation, and reflection. Subjects were students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Tahun Pelajaran 2011/ 2012. Source of data derived from teacher and student information, places and events on going learning activities, and documentation. Techniques and tools of data collection are questionnaire, observation, and interviews. Technical analysis of data is using qualitative descriptive. Data validation is use methods triangulation  Result of the research show  that with action performing brazes to pass through learning strategy purpose  Active Knowledge Sharing  questioning participation  in biology learning in class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Tahun Pelajaran 2011/ 2012. It  is gone upon on questionnaire result, observation and interview. The average percentage each indicator of student activities based on observation  for  pre cycle is 42,30%, a cycle of 62,69% and 79,92% for cycle 2. The conclusions that application of  Active Knowledge Sharing  strategy can improve Questioning Participation.   Key words: Active Knowledge Sharing, Questioning Participation  , Biology learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT - This research aims to find out the effect of the active learning strategy Mind Maps towards students? learning achievement of the class XI IPA at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar. This study is a quasi-experimental studies which use Posstest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable in this research is the application of implementation of active learning strategy on Mind Maps whereas the dependent variable is students? achievement in learning biology at 3 levels?, namely, cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The population of the study is the entire class XI at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2010/2011. The samples are taken towards control and treatment group. The sample is taken by using Cluster Random Sampling method. The data are collected by using test (for cognitive achievement) whereas for the affective and psychomotor aspects the data are taken by using observation methods. The obtained data are analyzed by using t-test. The result shows that the implementation of active learning strategy has taken good effect towards students? achievement in affective and psychomotor aspects, but has not on the cognitive achievement students in class XI IPA of Karanganyar SMA Negeri 2. Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah : (1) Mengetahui bagaimana implementasi Pembelajaran Multistrategi dapat merangsang mahasiswa untuk belajar dan menggunakan daya pikir secara aktif terhadap mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan; (2) Mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan beberapa nracamalternatif pembelajaran istilah meningkatkan pencapaian konsep belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan; (3) Mengetahui dampak penggunaan beberapa macam alternatif pembelajaran istilah meningkatkan performa mengajar dosen pada mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan.Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research), yang dilakukan 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian mahasiswa semester VI yang sedang rnengambil mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan atau mahasiswa semester atas yang belum lulus atau mengulang mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan tahun ajaran 2008/2009 sejumlah 60 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan rnetode observasi, wawancara, angket, tes dan kajian dokumen. Validitas data dengan teknik triangulasi. Analisis data dilakukan secala deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisa data dapat disimpulkan : (1) Penggunaan beberapa macam alternatif pembelajaran istilah dapat merangsang mahasiswa untuk belajar dan menggunakan daya pikir secara aktif terhadap mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan; (2) Penguasaan konsep mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan bisa ditingkatkan dengan adanya beberapa macam alternatif pembelajaran istilah , dengan meningkatnya mahasiswa yang lulus yaitu 99,04% dengan prosentase nilai A dan B sebesar 60%.; (3) Penggunaan beberapa macam alternatif pembelajaran istilah dapat meningkatkan performa mengajar dosen pada mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan.Kata kunci: pembelajaran multistrategi, pemahaman istilah, embriologi hewan

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Meningkatkan keaktifan diskusi siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi melalui penerapan prinsip Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction ARCS di kelas RSBI sebagai sebuah bentuk inovasi pembelajaran.Penelitian merupakan Classroom Action Research dilakukan di dua lokasi dengan dua inovasi pembelajran berbeda tetapi masing-masing menerapkan prinsip ARCS dalam komponen-komponennya.  Kedua lokasi yaitu 1)kelas RSBI SMA Negeri 1 Surakarata melalui penerapan prinsip ARCS dalam pembelajaran aktif tipe cardsort dan 2)kelas RSBI SMA MTA Surakarta dengan penerapan ARCS disertai LKS.  Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus.  Data berupa hasil observasi, wawancara, angket keaktifan diskusi siswa dan angket performance guru.  Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik triangulasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan prinsip ARCS di kelas RSBI dpat meningkatkan keaktifan diskusi siswa. Besar peningkatan rata-rata 3.19% dari siklus I 73.12% ke siklus II  76.41%. Kata kunci : ARCS, keaktifan diskusi, RSBI

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian  untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan jurnal belajar  dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep  embriologi hewan mahasiswa prodi P. Biologi FKIP UNS.            Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang dimulai dengan identifikasi permasalahan yang ada di kelas. Penelitian dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan tindakan berupa penyusunan langkah-langkah pembelajaran melalui penerapan penggunaan jurnal belajar metakognisi, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan evaluasi, analisis serta refleksi untuk tindakan berikutnya. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester VI Prodi P. Biologi  Tahun Pelajaran 2007/2008. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Kualitas pembelajaran dilihat dari penguasaan konsep mahasiswa. Refleksi belajar mahasiswa diukur menggunakan angket, sedangkan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa diukur melalui tes kognitif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan jurnal belajar metakognisi dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah Embriologi Hewan. Hal ini  terbukti dengan meningkatnya mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai A dan B,  dengan prosentase nilai A dan B sebesar 80%. Kata kunci: jurnal belajar, penguasaan konsep, embriologi Hewan

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis  life skills sangat cocok diterapkan pada mata kuliah mikrobilogi dimana mata kuliah tersebut mempelajari berbagai konsep mengenai mikroorganisme dan aplikasinya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pada penelitian ini, mencoba menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis  life skills  pada materi fermentasi, dimana mahasiswa melaukan praktikum pembuatan yogurt dengan menggunakan kultur bakteri asam laktat dan difokuskan pada penguasaan academic life skills dan social life skills. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) Mengetahui penguasaan  Accademic Life Skills  dan Social Life Skills mahasiswa dalam kegiatan praktikum pembuatan yogurt. 2). Mahasiswa mampu menciptakan produk bahan pangan berbasis fermentasi dalam hal ini berupa yogurt dengan kualitas yang baik. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini terlihat bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki penguasaan academic life skill yang baik terlihat dari hasil observasi bahwa 80% indikator sudah tercapai kecuali pada indikator pengukuran pH, pengukuran asam laktat dan penghitungan jumlah mikroba. Sedangkan untuk penguasaan social life skills mahasiswa sudah sangat baik dari 5 aspek dengan prosentase skor capaian indikator lebih dari 80%.   Kata kunci: Academic Life Skills, Social Life Skills, Fermentasi, Yogurt.
