Abstract

Alat peraga merupakan alat-alat pelajaran secara penginderaan yang tampak dan dapat diamati. Alat-alat peraga diperlukan dalam proses belajar kepada anak untuk memudahkan di dalam memberikan pelajaran dan memahami pelajaran dengan jelas atau menguasai isi pelajaran dengan baik. Setiap alat peraga yang digunakan haruslah sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan yang ingin dicapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui Implementasi Aplikasi Vernier Caliper Pada Pengukuran Jangka Sorong dan Mikrometer pada siswa SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan aplikasi Vernier Caliper pada siswa kelas X Teknik instalasi Tenaga Listrik SMKN 1 Cerme pada mata pembelajaran Dasar-Dasar Peralatan Kelistrikan. Pada penelitian ini penulis tidak menggunakan populasi dan sample melainkan menggunakan subjek uji coba sebagai pengganti populasi dan sample. Subjek uji coba pada percobaan adalah Kelas X TITL 1 SMKN 1 Cerme. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode pre-experiment dimana siswa akan diberi tahu aplikasi vernier caliper berbasis android pada siswa sebagai alternatif alat pembelajaran siswa. Objek penelitian berupa aplikasi vernier caliper berbasis android. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk kelayakan penerapan aplikasi berupa, test pre-test dan pos-test untuk melihat hasil belajar siswa. Adapun teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif karena data yang diperoleh diwujudkan dalan bentuk angka dan dianalisis berdasarkan analisis statistik untuk mengetahui data pada penerapan aplikasi vernier caliper berbasis android. Berdasarkan hasil paired t-test diperoleh sig. 0,000 <α = 0,05, maka ditolak dan diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi vernier caliper efektif digunakan untuk meningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari pre-test ke post-test. Berdasarkan hasil Tabel 4.3 diperoleh nilai rata rata pre-test siswa sebesar 76 dan nilai rata-rata post- test siswa sebesar 92,67. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan atau tidak pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan penerapan aplikasi vernier caliper. Dari hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Gain dari hasil belajar siswa sendiri adalah 54,72% atau dapat dibulatkan sebesar 55% . Dengan demikian penerapan aplikasi vernier caliper dapat dikategorikan cukup efektif. Berdasarkan pada hasil analisis data dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan aplikasi vernier caliper menampilkan peningkatan pada nilai ranah kognitif siswa dengan nilai sig < =0,05 dan nilai Gain sebesar 55% yang membuktikan bahwa implementasi aplikasi vernier caliper ini cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada materi Dasar-Dasar Peralatan Kelistrikan di SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik Kata Kunci : Implementasi, aplikasi vernier caliper, peningkatan, hasil belajar

Abstract

The use of inductive loads on a household scale, especially in electricity customers with a power of 1300 VA, often leads to low power factor values (cos φ) which degrades power quality. This study aims to design and build an Arduino-based automatic capacitor bank system capable of dynamically improving power quality in 1300 VA household electrical installations. The system integrates an Arduino Nano microcontroller with a PZEM-004T sensor to monitor electrical parameters—such as voltage, current, and cos φ—in real time and automatically controls capacitor switching through relays to provide the most suitable compensation. Experimental results show that the system successfully increased the power factor from an average of 0.75 to 0.97 under varying load conditions. In addition, the implementation reduced reactive power by up to 65% and demonstrated potential savings in electricity bills of approximately 8–12% for household consumers. These findings indicate that the proposed system not only improves power factor close to ideal conditions (cos φ ≈ 1) but also enhances overall energy efficiency and provides tangible economic benefits for household users.

Abstract

This study explored the correlation of critical thinking, creative thinking, and Simurelay-based learning motivation to the learning outcomes of students in class XI TITL at SMKN 7 Surabaya. The research used an ex post facto method with a correlational design. Participants were class XI students in the Electrical Power Installation Engineering program. Data were collected using questionnaires and tests, and analyzed with regression techniques using SPSS. The results showed that critical thinking significantly influenced knowledge (78.9%), attitude (70.2%), and skills (2.6%). Creative thinking contributed to knowledge (18.2%) and attitude (24%), but has limited effect on skills (3.6%). Learning motivation affected knowledge (19%), attitude (24.8%), and skills (5%). Combined, all three factors influenced learning outcomes: knowledge (98.3%), attitude (98.4%), and skills (8.9%). These findings underlined the importance of cognitive abilities and motivation in vocational education. The integration of critical and creative thinking with Simurelay-based learning enhanced engagement and achievement across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Such strategies were essential for improving technical learning performance.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find significant improvement on students’ learning outcomes on electric motor control system circuits using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with FluidSIM software; and (2) find significant differences in learning outcomes between Electrical Power Installation Engineering (TITL) students taught using PjBL with FluidSIM and conventional method. This experimental study employed a non-equivalent control group design. The experimental class (XI TITL 1) received treatment using PjBL with FluidSIM software, while the control class (XI TITL 2) used PjBL with the conventional method. Data were collected through assessments of learning outcomes and analyzed using t-tests to assess both improvements and differences. The results indicated significant improvements in learning outcomes for the experiment group following the implementation of PjBL using FluidSIM software. Additionally, a significant difference was found between the two groups’ learning outcomes, with a t value greater than the critical value (5.906 > 2.00). In conclusion, the PjBL model combined with FluidSIM effectively improves student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Lighting is a major requirement in human life to be able to see objects around clearly, lighting is obtained from natural light sources and artificial light sources. The IDB laboratory building of the FMIPA UNESA has many rooms with different functions and uses, so the lighting of each room must be adjusted to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 03-6575-2001). Therefore, a program is needed to analyze and determine the number of lights used quickly and accurately in order to achieve safe and comfortable lighting according to (SNI 03-6575-2001). In this case the method used is to use the calculation of the visual basic 6.0 program by inputting the dimensions of each room, namely length, width, height, and the type of artificial lighting used. Based on the results of the calculation of the lighting standards of the IDB building using the visual basic 6.0 program, it is known that only the prayer room on the 1st floor, the microscope room on the 2nd floor, the warehouse on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors and the microteaching room on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors meet SNI 03-6575-2001. Whereas for other rooms such as libraries and laboratories cannot meet SNI 03-6575-2001 so that action needs to be taken so that they can meet the standards, namely by increasing the number of lighting points in each room, or it can also be by replacing the type of lighting with a larger lumen value than before.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate among vocational high school graduates and their low soft skills proficiency pose serious obstacles to employment in the culinary industry. The main problem lies in students' reliance on teacher instructions during practical work, indicating a lack of independent decision-making skills. This quantitative research with an explanatory design aims to analyze the influence of creativity and self-efficacy on decision-making skills through the mediation of problem-solving skills. The research location included three public vocational high schools in the Kediri area, involving one hundred and sixty tenth-grade students as a purposive sample. The research stages included the distribution of Likert-scale questionnaires and data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares through SmartPLS software. The results of the quantitative analysis indicate that creativity significantly influences decision-making (p=0.000) and problem-solving skills (p=0.000). Likewise, self-efficacy is proven to significantly influence problem-solving (p=0.000). The mediation findings confirm that problem-solving skills indirectly link creativity (p=0.003) and self-efficacy (p=0.002) to the quality of final decisions. The main conclusion confirms that culinary students' decision-making does not emerge instantly but rather through a complex cognitive process fueled by self-confidence and flexible creative thinking. Therefore, the Basic Culinary Theory curriculum must integrate problem-based learning methods to train students' independence and prepare them for the dynamics of the modern, competitive, global workplace. ABSTRAK Angka pengangguran lulusan SMK yang tinggi serta rendahnya penguasaan soft skill menjadi kendala serius dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja di industri kuliner. Permasalahan utama terletak pada ketergantungan siswa terhadap instruksi guru saat praktikum yang mengindikasikan lemahnya kemampuan pengambilan keputusan mandiri. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksplanatori ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kreativitas dan self-efficacy terhadap kemampuan pengambilan keputusan melalui mediasi kemampuan memecahkan masalah. Lokasi penelitian mencakup tiga SMK Negeri di wilayah Kediri dengan melibatkan seratus enam puluh siswa kelas sepuluh sebagai sampel purposive. Tahapan penelitian meliputi penyebaran kuesioner skala Likert dan analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares melalui software SmartPLS. Hasil analisis kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pengambilan keputusan (p=0,000) dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah (p=0,000). Begitu pula self-efficacy terbukti memengaruhi pemecahan masalah (p=0,000) secara nyata. Temuan mediasi mengonfirmasi bahwa kemampuan memecahkan masalah menghubungkan kreativitas (p=0,003) dan self-efficacy (p=0,002) terhadap kualitas keputusan akhir secara tidak langsung. Simpulan utama menegaskan bahwa pengambilan keputusan siswa kuliner tidak muncul secara instan melainkan melalui proses kognitif kompleks yang dipicu oleh keyakinan diri dan fleksibilitas berpikir kreatif. Oleh karena itu, kurikulum Teori Dasar Kuliner wajib mengintegrasikan metode pembelajaran berbasis masalah guna melatih kemandirian serta kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi dinamika dunia kerja modern global yang kompetitif.

Abstract

Low power factor (cos φ) remains a prevalent issue in residential electrical installations, primarily due to inductive appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and water pumps, which increase reactive power and reduce overall system efficiency. This condition leads to voltage drops, increased current flow, and higher I²R losses, affecting electricity expenditure and long-term equipment reliability. To address this problem, this study proposes an automatic power factor correction system based on reactive power compensation, where capacitors function as local suppliers of reactive power to stabilize voltage and reduce grid loading. The system utilizes an Arduino Nano microcontroller integrated with a PZEM-004T sensor for real-time monitoring of voltage, current, and power factor. Based on the measured parameters, capacitor switching is performed using relay-based control to enable adaptive compensation according to load variations. Experimental testing was conducted under real household operating conditions for a total duration of four months, including pre- and post-intervention measurements. The results showed a substantial improvement in power factor, increasing from 0.79–0.82 to 0.91–0.99 after capacitor bank installation. Current consumption also decreased—for example, from 4.23 A to 3.50 A in Week 1 and from 9.61 A to 8.10 A in Week 5, indicating reduced power losses and improved voltage stability. Furthermore, energy usage declined from 737 kWh to 605 kWh over two months, resulting in an energy saving of 17.9%. In conclusion, the proposed system demonstrates that low-cost automated power factor correction can effectively enhance residential energy efficiency and offer measurable economic benefits for household consumers.

Abstract

Guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) memiliki peran strategis tidak hanya sebagai pengajar, tetapi juga sebagai agen pengembangan inovasi pendidikan berbasis praktik dan penelitian. Namun demikian, banyak guru masih menghadapi kendala dalam menyajikan hasil penelitian dan inovasi pendidikan ke dalam bentuk artikel ilmiah yang memenuhi standar publikasi. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMKN 1 Bojonegoro dalam menyusun dan menyajikan hasil penelitian serta inovasi pendidikan melalui pendampingan penulisan artikel ilmiah. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah, diskusi, latihan terbimbing, dan project-based learning yang dilaksanakan secara luring. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 30 guru dari berbagai bidang keahlian. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman struktur artikel ilmiah (dari 20% menjadi 85%), kemampuan mengakses dan menggunakan sumber referensi ilmiah (dari 30% menjadi 90%), serta kesiapan menyusun draft artikel ilmiah (dari 10% menjadi 80%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan yang terstruktur dan kontekstual efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru, khususnya dalam publikasi ilmiah. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada penguatan budaya akademik dan peningkatan kualitas inovasi pendidikan di tingkat sekolah.

Abstract

Single-phase induction motors are widely used in domestic and industrial applications, but they have the main disadvantage of significant initial current surges, which have the potential to damage components and degrade power quality. This research proposes a solution through the design and implementation of an Arduino Nano-based soft start automation system to overcome these surges. The developed system uses Arduino Nano as the main microcontroller integrated with the PZEM-004T sensor for real-time monitoring of electrical parameters, as well as relays as an efficient switching mechanism. The method applied is the manipulation of the value of the resistor to limit the initial current, with the aim of measuring the effectiveness of the system in reducing the current surge. Focusing on testing a fully functioning system, the study is expected to prove a drastic decrease in initial current spikes. The results of this study can show that the Arduino Nano-based soft start automation system is effective in improving the performance and efficiency of induction motors, as well as being a practical guide for similar applications in the industry.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of developing problem-based teaching materials for improving student learning outcomes. The research focuses on a practical module for the subject of electric motor installation at SMKN 1 Driyorejo, where interviews and needs assessment revealed issues such as teacher-centered learning and limited student resources, primarily relying on notebooks. These factors have hindered optimal learning outcomes. The development of problem-based learning modules was intended to address these issues and improve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes. The research follows a Research & Development (R&D) approach with four steps: 1) Define, 2) Design, 3) Develop, and 4) Disseminate, using a one-shot case study trial design. The study involved 30 students of grade XI TITL 1 at SMKN 1 Driyorejo. Results showed the module’s validity at 3.66, practicality based on student responses at 89.25, and effectiveness with cognitive, psychomotor, and affective outcomes of 84.93, 89.40, and 94.00, respectively. These findings suggest that the problem-based practical module is valid, practical, and effective for improving student learning outcomes across various domains.
