Abstract

This research was done in wild life conservation area of Sibela mountain, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province from November 2009 to February 2010. The purpose of the research is to give evidence about how is the people’s behavior towards the wild life conservation area of Sibelia Mountain, the. The population of the research was all of patriarchs in three villages: Sawadai village, Tuokona and Gandasuli village. Furthermore, 46-47 people are chosen randomly from each village to get 140 patriarchs of total sample. Questionnaire instrument was used to collect the data. Questionnaire instrument and closed response interview guideline were used to collect the data of people’s behavior toward the wild life area conservation. Prior to distribute the instrument to the respondents, a test is carried out to the people who live in east Halmahera wild life area excluding from the research sample to get its validity and reliability. The result of analysis on people’s behavior in three different villages living in wild life area shows that they still have a low level of land utilization (about 20% - 25%). This result indicates that respondents who answered the questions of utilize of the conservation area tend to be in small number. This result also shows that the people of the three villages are having a tendency to do activities that caused environmental damage (contra conservation). The analysis result on people’s behavior in maintaining wild life conservation area of Sibela Mountain is also at a low level. From the three villages, the percentages are 8% - 13%. It indicates that people’s behavior tendency of maintaining or preserve the conserved area is at a very low level.

Abstract

Mangrove is an ecosystem that is a habitat for various both aquatic and terrestrial biota. This research aims at revealing the distribution and community structure of mangrove in Donrotu, Guratu and Manomadehe Islands, West Halmahera Regency, North Maluku. This work was conducted from April to June 2019. Data collection using the spot check method, while the analysis of mangrove distribution was carried out qualitatively. Community structures quantitatively include type density (Di), relative density types (RDi), frequency types (Fi), relative frequency types (Rfi), closing types (Ci), closure of relatively types (RCi), and Important value (VIi). The results showed that Rhizophora stylosa in the three islands (Donrotu, Guratu, and Idamdehe) had the highest species density and highest density values. Closing types and closures are relatively varied. The type of R. stylosa also has a higher importance in all three islands. The highest mangrove density was mainly found in Donrotu Island (0.96 ind/m2), then Guratu Island (0.46 ind/m2), and Idamadehe Island (0.32 ind/m2), respectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran team games tournament kelas IX6 SMP Negeri 4 Kota Ternate tahun pelajaran 2018- 2019 pada materi pewarisan sifat pada mahluk hidup, Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2018. Jenis penelitian yakni desain penilitian tindakan kelas ( PTK) dengan menggunakan dua siklus. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan Penerapan Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT pada mata pelajara IPA  materi Pewarisan sifat pada Mahluk hidup kelas IX6 SMP Negeri 4 Kota Ternate dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini terlihat bahwa prestasi belajar siswa kelas IX6 pada tes awal nilai rata-rata 40, 27% ketuntasan. Sedangkan pada post test 1 nilai rata-rata 60.04 dan peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 23% dengan gain score 0.46 kategori sedang. Pada post test 2 nilai rata-rata siswa 82.09, ketuntasan 95% dan peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 45% dengan gain score 1.23 kategori tinggi. Kata kunci: TGT, Hasil Belajar, Pewarisan Sifat Pada Mahluk Hidup

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Reading Questioning And Answering (RQA) learning model through Virtual Class on metacognitive skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the biology education study program in the basic teaching ability course. There are two variables in this study, namely the independent variable is the Reading Questioning And Answering (RQA) Learning Model and the dependent variable is Metacognitive Skills and Cognitive Learning Outcomes. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The form of research used is a quasi-experimental research design with pretest posttest control group design. Data collection techniques using the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MCAI) Questionnaire, Cognitive Learning Outcomes Test and Documentation. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of the Reading Questioning And Answering (RQA) learning model through the Virtual Class on metacognitive skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students of the biology education study program in the subject of basic teaching abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of learning models with the Pattern of Empowerment Thinking Through Questions (PBMP) combined with integrated scientific approach integrated Islamic values in empowering critical thinking and metacognition of elementary school students or madrasah ibtidaiyah. Furthermore, this study aimed to determine differences in critical thinking and metacognition of students with different ethnicities related to the learning model applied. This research is classified as a quasi experiment, conducted in the 2018/2019 school year in class V at two Ibtidaiyah Madrasahs classified as schools or multiethnic Madrasas in Ternate City. The measured variables in this study were students' critical thinking skills and metacognition. To test the hypotheses, Anakova in the SPSS 16.0 program was used. If the probability value is significant, then further tests with LSD. The results of data analysis show that PBMP learning combined with integrated scientific approach integrated Islamic values has an effect on students 'critical thinking and metacognition and or it can be said that PBMP patterned learning combined with an integrated scientific approach integrated Islamic values is more empowering students' critical thinking and metacognition than conventional models. There are differences in students' critical thinking between ethnic groups in the class applied to the model, these differences can be concluded that students in each ethnic group have different learning styles. Keywords: multiethnic, PBMP, scientific approach, Islamic values, Metacognition, critical thinking.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA di SMP  pada umumnya masih didominasi oleh aktifitas guru.   Kelas  berfokus   pada   guru   sebagai   sumber  utama  pengetahuan   dan berpegang pada buku paket saja. Kegiatan pembelajaran kurang memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk berinteraksi dengan benda-benda konkrit dalam situasi  yang nyata.  Untuk  mengatasi permasalahan  tersebut di  atas diperlukan suatu pendekatan yaitu menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif dengan model Student Teams Achivement Division. Penelitian  ini  adalah  penelitian  tindakan  kelas,  Tujuan  dari  penelitian tindakan kelas ini Untuk mengetahui hasil belajar Biologi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Bibinoi Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan, dengan penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif dengan model Student Teams Achivement Division (STAD). Hasil belajar siswa SMP Negeri 6 Bibinoi Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan, pada materi Menentukan ekosistem     dan saling hubungan antara komponen ekosistem. Pada siklus I siswa yang mengikuti tes terdapat sebanyak 5 siswa yang tuntas,siswa tersebut dikatakan tuntas karena hasil tes yang diperoleh telah mencapai nilai KKM. Siswa yang dikategorikan tidak tuntas sebanyak 15 siswa, karena hasil tes yang diperoleh belum mencapai nilai KKM. Dengan ketuntasan secara klasikal pada tes silus I adalah 25%,   Sedangkan pada   siklus II dengan materi   Mengindentifi-kasikan   pentingnya   keanekaragaman   makhluk   hidup dalam pelestarian ekosistem, telah mengalami peningkatan yaitu siswa yang dikategorikan tuntas sebanyak 20 siswa atau 100% , siswa yang dikategorikan tuntas. Dengan demikian model pembelajaran Student Teams Achivement Division dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Bibinoi Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan, materi Ekosistem.

Abstract

The Utilization of natural materials from local plants as mosquito repellent starts from the deepening of information about local knowledge of the community. Research about anti-mosquito is important to overcome problems of the use of synthetic anti-mosquitoes on the market; besides that, this is also to preserve the community's local wisdom. The purpose of this study is to describe the local knowledge of the island community about the use of anti-mosquito plants and analyze the potential of plants that are most widely used by people in the islands as anti-mosquito lotion products. The method used is the exploratory survey method. Data collection is done by interviewing techniques, in-depth observation of informants, and documentation. The most used anti-mosquito plant data were analyzed by phytochemical components. The results showed that there were 9 species of anti-mosquito plants used by the community, namely Tagetes erecta L, Lavandula L, Cymbopogon citratus, Citrus aurantifolia, Syzygium aromaticum, Evodia suaveolens, Catharanthus roseus (L) G. Don., Alphitonia incana BL., and Polygala paniculata. Alphitonia incana BL is the most widely used type of society and contains phytochemical compounds, alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, phenolics, and tannins. The Alphitonia incana BL., has the potential to be developed as an anti-mosquito lotion product.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program of livestock farmer groups in Doyado Village, East Tidore District, Tidore Islands City, is a community service activity aimed at handling cow manure in Doyado Village, which is currently quite abundant in number but not well managed, so it has the potential to pollute the environment. The purpose of this activity is also to introduce organic fertilizer processing technology and familiarize the use of organic fertilizers to farmer groups in Doyado Village, who have been using cow dung without prior treatment. The methods of implementation include socialization and training, opinion polls through questionnaires, organic fertilizer processing demonstration plots, and focus group discussions. Group discussions were held to discuss the results and equalize perceptions for all participants in the process of making organic fertilizers. Through this activity, cow manure can be used by farmer groups to become organic fertilizer and during this activity can provide organic fertilizer and provide additional income for farmer groups.

Abstract

Pola sebaran spesies-spesies moluska di hutan mangrove menunjukkan adanya suatu zonasi. Moluska mangrove dapat dibagi ke dalam tiga kelompok, yaitu: moluska pengunjung, fakultatif dan asli. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji distribusi vertikal moluska dan keanekaragaman jenis, dominansi jenis, kemerataan jenis dan kesaman komunitas moluska hutan mangrove di Gugusan Pulau Sidangoli Kabupaten Halmahera Barat. Pengambilan moluska  menggunakan metode transek kuadrat. Transek ditarik secara horizontal sejajar garis pantai berdasarkan zonasi hutan mangrove yaitu zona bagian depan (ZBD), zona bagian tengah (ZBT) dan zona bagian belakang (ZBB). Hasil penelitian diperoleh distribusi vertikal moluska pada Zonasi Bagian Depan (ZBD) memiliki keanekaragaman jenis moluska lebih tinggi dan terendah di Zona Bagian Belakang (ZBB). Struktur komunitas moluska untuk semua stasiun penelitian memiliki keanekaragaman jenis tergolong sedang, tidak ada jenis yang dominasi dan penyebaran jenis moluska sangat merata.

Abstract

Local wisdom-oriented learning in elementary schools in the city of Ternate has not been implemented optimally. In general, schools have implemented thematic learning that should contain local wisdom. Ethnopedagogy is the actualization of learning oriented to the cultivation of local wisdom values. Ethnopedagogic aproach in elementary schools need to be implemented through strategies and innovative learning media that are able to attract students' attention to understand and apply local wisdom. This study aims to integrate Cloves as an identity flora in North Maluku in the implementation of an ethnopedagogic aproach at elementary schools in Ternate. This study uses a qualitative approach with a mixed method of research instruments consisting of observation sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis technique with concurrent triangulation strategy. The results showed that the ethnopedagogical approach implemented through learning activities using cloves as a spice study object in North Maluku was an effective alternative to local wisdom-based learning applied in elementary schools in Ternate city. Through the integration of cloves in an ethnopedagogical approach, it can improve scientific literacy skills and students' learning motivation. This study recommends that the ethnopedagogical approach can be implemented with innovative learning activities based on local wisdom.
