Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Kecakapan Representasi Matematis (KRM) siswa SMPN 3 Pekanbaru melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek sebanyak 35 siswa kelas VII-4 SMPN 3 Pekanbaru. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, di mana Siklus I terdiri dari dua pertemuan dan Siklus II terdiri dari tiga pertemuan. Proses penelitian berlangsung dari tanggal 14 Mei hingga 4 Juni 2024. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi perangkat pembelajaran, seperti Alur Tujuan Pembelajaran (ATP) dan Modul Ajar, serta instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model PBL dapat memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan KRM siswa SMPN 3 Pekanbaru. Peningkatan KRM siswa dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis KRM secara klasikal. Rata-rata nilai KRM awal siswa sebelum tindakan (tes awal) adalah 32,38. Pada Siklus I, rata-rata KRM meningkat menjadi 68,93, dan pada Siklus II meningkat lagi menjadi 87,46. Rata-rata KRM pada Siklus I menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 36,55 dibandingkan dengan tes awal, sedangkan rata-rata pada Siklus II meningkat sebesar 18,53 dari Siklus I. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL efektif dalam memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan KRM siswa SMPN 3 Pekanbaru pada materi statistika di tahun pelajaran 2023/2024.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas VIII-1 SMP Taruna Sakti Pekanbaru yang berjumlah 25 peserta didik. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Siklus I terdiri dari dua pertemuan dan siklus II terdiri dari tiga pertemuan. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari perangkat pembelajaran yang berisi Alur Tujuan Pembelajaran (ATP) dan Modul Ajar. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, serta lembar tes KPMM. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik pengamatan dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model PBL dapat memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan dapat meningkatkan KPMM peserta didik kelas VIII-1 SMP Taruna Sakti Pekanbaru. Peningkatan KPMM peserta didik dapat dilihat dari analisis KPMM secara klasikal. Pada rata-rata nilai kemampuan awal KPMM peserta didik sebelum tindakan adalah 39,76. Rata-rata nilai KPMM peserta didik pada siklus I adalah 61,12. Rata-rata nilai KPMM peserta didik pada siklus II adalah 75,06. Rata-rata nilai KPMM peserta didik pada siklus I 21,36 lebih tinggi dari rata-rata nilai tes awal. Sedangkan rata-rata KPMM peserta didik pada siklus II 13,94 lebih tinggi dari rata-rata nilai siklus I. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan model PBL dapat memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas VIII-1 SMP Taruna Sakti Pekanbaru semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2024/2025 pada konten Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV).

Abstract

This study aims to develop a product in the form of a mathematics teaching module based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students' mathematical communication skills in the context of linear equations and inequalities with one variable for Grade VII students in junior high schools (SMP/MTs). The study evaluates the teaching module's validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Additionally, the findings of this research can serve as a reference for teachers in designing teaching modules that improve communication skills in other mathematical topics and as a resource for students to practice and enhance their communication skills. This research is based on the importance of mathematical communication skills for students. According to the Ministry of National Education, one of the objectives of mathematics learning is to enable students to communicate their ideas through symbols, tables, diagrams, or other representations. However, field observations show that the reality is quite the opposite. The mathematical communication skills of Grade VII students (Phase D) in junior high schools are still relatively low, particularly in linear equations and inequalities with one variable. One of the indicators of this issue is that students do not create mathematical symbols accurately when solving problems. While they can solve problems presented in a format like the teacher's examples, they struggle with different problem formats, especially word problems, which are confusing. The data collection instruments used in this study include validation and practicality instruments. The data collection techniques involve interviews, questionnaires, and mathematical communication skill tests. The data analysis techniques employed are both quantitative and qualitative analyses. The development of the teaching module in this research follows the 4-D model (Four-D Model), which consists of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating.

Abstract

This research investigates student errors in solving contextual problems involving Systems of Linear Equations in Three Variables (SPLTV) using Newman’s Error Analysis framework. The theory categorizes errors into five cognitive stages: reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding. A qualitative descriptive method was applied, involving three 10th-grade vocational school students from different majors in Kampar Regency, selected based on varying ability levels. Data were collected through contextual written tests and interviews. Findings reveal that low-ability students made errors across all stages, medium-ability students primarily struggled with process skills and encoding, while high-ability students demonstrated minimal errors and systematic problem-solving. The highest error rates occurred in the reading and comprehension stages (33% each), followed by transformation, process skills, and encoding (22% each). These results highlight the crucial role of contextual understanding and mathematical modeling in SPLTV. The study recommends differentiated instruction and the integration of contextual problems to reduce errors and enhance students' mathematical thinking.   Penelitian ini mengkaji kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal kontekstual Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel (SPLTV) dengan menggunakan kerangka Analisis Kesalahan Newman. Teori ini mengelompokkan kesalahan ke dalam lima tahapan kognitif, yaitu membaca, memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban. Metode deskriptif kualitatif diterapkan dengan melibatkan tiga siswa kelas X dari jurusan berbeda di salah satu SMK di Kabupaten Kampar, yang dipilih berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan yang bervariasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes tertulis berbentuk soal kontekstual dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan rendah melakukan kesalahan pada seluruh tahapan, siswa berkemampuan sedang terutama mengalami kesalahan pada tahap keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban, sedangkan siswa berkemampuan tinggi menunjukkan kesalahan minimal dan mampu menyelesaikan soal secara sistematis. Persentase kesalahan tertinggi terjadi pada tahap membaca dan memahami (masing-masing 33%), diikuti oleh tahap transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban (masing-masing 22%). Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman konteks dan kemampuan pemodelan matematis dalam menyelesaikan SPLTV. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan pembelajaran diferensiatif serta integrasi soal kontekstual untuk mengurangi kesalahan dan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa

Abstract

The success of students in learning mathematics cannot be separated from the mathematics learning process at school. In the learning process at school, improving learning outcomes is very necessary in order to obtain complete learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers must be able to apply learning models that can create a learning atmosphere that attracts students' attention, can train students' way of thinking to understand mathematical concepts and can play an active role in the learning process. So, teachers need to apply the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to improve student activity and student learning outcomes. PBL helps students gather information, build new knowledge, and develop the skills needed for active and independent learning. The purpose of the study was to improve student learning outcomes. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. Based on the results of the research that the researcher has conducted, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model can improve the learning process and can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIIC students of UPT SMP Negeri 10 Tapung in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year on the material of the Two Variable Linear Equation System.

Abstract

This study is a development research aimed at producing a valid and practical Student Worksheet for the Cartesian coordinate material. The development model used in this study is the 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The product developed is a learning worksheet based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model for eighth-grade students of junior high schools (SMP/MTs) on the Cartesian coordinate topic. This worksheet has undergone a validation process by three validators, a one-to-one trial with three students to assess readability, and a small group trial with 15 students, all of which indicated that the worksheet met the criteria for validity and practicality. The validation results showed an average percentage of 91.61%, categorized as very valid. Furthermore, the practicality results obtained from the small group trial showed an average percentage of 89%, categorized as very practical. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of the worksheet using the Problem Based Learning model for the Cartesian coordinate topic in eighth-grade SMP/MTs has met the criteria for being both valid and practical.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berupa Silabus, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS) model discovery learning pada materi segiempat dan segitiga untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP/MTs yang valid dan memenuhi syarat praktikalitas. Model penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4-D yang terdiri dari tahap define (pendefenisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Uji coba terbatas dilakukan di SMP Negeri 5 Tapung Hilir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran memiliki skor ≥ 2,5 dengan kategori valid, dan hasil praktikalitas memiliki persentasi skor 87%. Sehingga perangkat pembelajaran discovery learning pada materi segiempat dan segitiga untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP/MTs telah valid dan memenuhi syarat praktikalitas. Kata Kunci:Penelitian Pengembangan, Perangkat Pembelajaran, Discovery Learning, Model Pengembangan 4-D, Kemampuan Representasi matematis Abstract:This research aims to produce the mathematics learning instruments which includes syllabus, learning implementation plans (RPP) and student activity sheets (LAS) model discovery learning on the material of quadrilateral and triangles to facilitate SMP/MTs students the mathematical representation abilities of that are valid and qualified of the practicality.  The development research model used is the 4-D which consists the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The limited trial was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Tapung Hilir. The results showed that the result of learning instruments validation of had a score of ≥ 2.5 in the valid category, and the results of practicality had a percentage score of 87%. Abstract

This study examines how altruism and teacher self-efficacy influence teacher commitment in private vocational high schools (SMKS) in Bina Widya District, Pekanbaru. Altruism and self-efficacy are critical because they respectively reflect teachers’ prosocial orientation and confidence to perform instructional tasks—both are expected to support sustained professional commitment. Using an ex-post facto quantitative design, data were collected by questionnaire from a cluster sample of 121 teachers drawn from four SMKS (population = 174). Instruments were pretested (N = 30) and analyzed with SPSS 25 using descriptive statistics and multiple regression (F, t, R²). Results show that altruism and self-efficacy jointly have a positive and significant effect on teacher commitment (F = 53.560, p < .001), explaining 47.6% of variance (R² = .476). Individually, altruism (β = .433, p < .001) and self-efficacy (β = .263, p = .004) also significantly predict commitment. The findings suggest that promoting prosocial values and strengthening teachers’ efficacy beliefs can enhance their professional commitment. Implications for school leaders and policymakers are discussed.

Abstract

Problem solving skills is one of the most important skills students should achieve in mathematics. However, students' mathematical problem-solving skills still low. This research offers classpoint mathematics gamification in digital mathematics module based on problem-based learning. Thus, this research was conducted to develop a valid, practice, and effective mathematics digital module based on problem-based learning model with classpoint mathematics gamification (ChePomathGo) in improving students’ problem solving skills. This study used the Plomp development model, including the preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment phases. Preliminary research involving 32 students and 1 teacher and prototyping and assessment phase involving 9 students in seventh grade junior high school. Data analysis used are descriptive analysis. The result shows that the mathematics digital module based on problem-based learning model with ChePomathGo is valid with an average score of 3.67 (very valid category), practice based on students’ and teachers’ positive responses, and effective to improve students’ problem solving skills based on the results of the students' mathematical problem-solving skills test in small group evaluations with an average score of 75% (effective category). The implications of this research is the digital mathematical module developed can be a guidelines for researchers and teachers to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Existing studies show that learning using problem-based learning teaching modules can significantly improve mathematical literacy in class VII students at SMPN 1 Kampar. A quasi-experimental design was used, with the research population consisting of VII-grade students of SMPN 01 Kampar. The research sample consisted of two classes: VII-B, the control class, and VII-A, the experimental class. The data analysis technique employed was a posttest analysis of the results from the mathematical literacy test, using the t-test to determine whether there was an increase in performance, as indicated by N-Gain data. The results of data analysis showed that the Independent Sample t-test obtained a significance value of 0.001, which means that there is a significant difference between the control class and the experimental class. The average value of N-Gain was 0.6722 for the experimental class, categorized as medium, and 0.2970 for the control class, also categorized as medium. Indicates that learning using the PBL model increases mathematical literacy higher than classes that do not use the PBL model. These findings reveal that there is an increase in mathematical literacy, thus indicating that the use of the PBL model helps improve mathematical literacy.
