Abstract

Objective: This study aims to test the effectiveness of Moodle-based Digital Assessment as an assessment instrument to measure scientific literacy possessed by junior high school students in Jember and Probolinggo, Indonesia especially on environmental pollution. Method: This type of research is development research with a 4D model that Defined, Designed, Developed, and Disseminated. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and calculation of scientific literacy.  Result: For the results small-scale trial, most students were in the high category. The results of the large-scale test for junior high school in Jember, Indonesia show most students in the medium category. The results of the large-scale test for junior high school in Probolinggo, Indonesia show most students in the high category. The results of this study prove Digital Assessment developed is very effective for measuring the scientific literacy of junior high school students, especially regarding environmental pollution. Novelty: Researchers have never previously conducted research that developed a Moodle-based Digital Assessment to measure the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

In this 21st century, students are required to have skills in facing the challenges of globalization, one of which is scientific reasoning skills. Scientific reasoning is the ability to think systematically and logically to solve problems. Six indicators of scientific reasoning ability include conversion reasoning, proportional reasoning, variable control, probabilistic reasoning, correlation reasoning, and hypothesis-deductive reasoning. Scientific reasoning ability can be improved by using learning models that encourage students to think at a higher level, one of which is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The purpose of this research is to determine the scientific reasoning ability of students through the application of the PBL model on static fluid physics material. This type of research is descriptive quantitative and qualitative. This research was conducted in class XI MIPA 4 SMAN 3 Jember. Data collection techniques in this study using observation techniques, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results obtained are the average score of students' reasoning ability on the six indicators of scientific reasoning in the very good category. So it is concluded that the PBL model can improve students' scientific reasoning ability in static fluid physics material.

Abstract

Laboratorium virtual merupakan suatu media berbasis komputer yang berisi simulasi kegiatan di laboratorium fisika. Guru sebagai fasilitator harus berfikir kreatif dan inovatif untuk mengatasi masalah ini, terutama di tengah pandemi COVID-19 saat ini, tentunya guru tidak bisa menghadirkan siswa di sekolah untuk melakukan praktikum. Maka dibutuhkan suatu media pembelajaran yang mengabungkan lebih dari 2 unsur media yang terdiri dari teks, grafis (gambar, foto, animasi) dan video secara terintegrasi, sehingga siswa masih tetap bisa melakukan praktikum walaupun dimasa pandemi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development dengan model pengembangan 4-D terdiri atas 4 tahapan pengembangan, yaitu define (tahap pendefinisian), design (tahap perancangan), develop (tahap pengembangan), dan disseminate (tahap penyebarluasan) produk berupa Laboratorium Virtual pada siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Bunta. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas(PTK). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan laboratorium virtual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar  siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Bunta. Terlihat dari ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus 1 adalah 20 % sementara pada siklus 2 mengalami peningkatan menjadi 77%.

Abstract

Penggunaan internet dan smart mobile pada era modern ini telah menjadi kebutuhan yag tidak dapat dipisahkan dari berbagai bidang kehidupan, termasuk dalam inovasi pembelajaran. Digital digital lifestyle sesuatu yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan siswa. Sehingga pembelajaran di sekolah juga harus diintegrasikan dengan penggunaan internet dan perangkat smart mobile agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa, agar tidak kehilangan motivasi dalam belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penugasan bentuk digital (video) terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Taggart yang terdiri dari siklus I dan siklus II. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner untuk mengukur motivasi siswa dan test hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan penugasan tertulis pada siklus I dan penugasan dengan bentuk digital pada siklus II. Data yang didapatkan diolah dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif deskriptif dan kualitatf deskriptif dengan menggunakan aplikasi spss dan didapatkan hasil terdapat peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar dari siklus I 78,52 dan siklus II menjadi 82,77. Serta hasil analisis kuesioner didapatkan bahwa siswa sangat termotivasi dengan penugasan bentuk video.

Abstract

Physics learning provides a context for future careers in fostering ability in high-end logic with the 21st learning goals. Applying computational thinking in schools is challenging and requires systemic transformation and teacher attention. This study aims to investigate the computational thinking of students in physics learning. This study used exploratory qualitative research. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and portfolio documents. The data are analyzed through six stages: preparing and organizing, exploring, building descriptions, representing the findings, interpreting the results, and validating the accuracy. The result indicated four primary computational thinking skills: decomposition, abstraction, simulation, and evaluation. The computational thinking skills in physics learning can develop students’ understanding and implementation of physics concepts based on data, not just mathematical formulas. Computational thinking in physics learning gives students the opportunity and space to explore and develop their ideas and logical reasoning more deeply in problem-defining, solutions, and evaluation. Students use their logical reasoning to solve the problem precisely. This study is expected to be used as a basis and support for physics teachers to integrate computational thinking into their learning classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to develop augmented reality according to interactive learning media to improve the skills of critical thinking of students at elementary school. This research used research and also development by using a 4D model including Define, Design, Develop, and also Disseminate. The data collection technique used questionnaires, observations and tests used for validity tests, practicality tests and effectiveness tests in research. The findings of the study showed that the augmented reality based interactive media of learning developed was included in having an average validity score of 90.01% in the highly valid category. The practicality test based on the findings of student responses and observation of implementation had an average score of 84.03% categorized as highly practical. The effectiveness test of ability of critical thinking analysis resulted in a score of an N-gain of 0.51 in the medium category, which can significantly improve the thinking ability of elementary school students in subjects of science. In short, the use of augmented reality-based interactive learning media in elementary school learning can improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemahaman siswa pada konsep materi kinematika dan dinamika gerak. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan mengkaji contoh peristiwa yang ada di sekitar siswa. Peristiwa kecelakaan lalu lintas merupakan salah satu fenomena kontekstual yang dekat dengan kehidupan siswa. Fenomena tersebut dapat dikaji secara kinematika dan dinamika geraknya. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan kajian kinematika dan dinamika gerak dari peristiwa kecelakaan lalu lintas untuk materi pada bahan ajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji gerak kendaraan berdasarkan kinematika dan dinamika gerak pada jalur Blackspot tikungan tajam di Kabupaten Blitar serta mendeskripsikan rancangan bahan ajar fisika yang kontekstual pada materi kinematika dan dinamika gerak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah content analysis. Subyek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah salah satu Blackspot berupa tikungan tajam. Alur penelitian diawali dengan pengumpulan data dan teori yang mendukung mendasari penelitian. Penelitian dilanjutkan dengan melakukan analisis data menggunakan enam tahapan content analysis, yakni unitizing, sampling, coding, reducing, inferring, dan narrating. Instrumen pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen wawancara. Hasil penelitian analisis kinematika dan dinamika gerak berdasarkan peristiwa kecelakaan di jalur Blackspot tikungan tajam dan rancangan bahan ajar berupa e-modul kontekstual pada materi kinematika dan dinamika gerak. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu E-modul yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat memfasilitasi siswa belajar mandiri.

Abstract

Science learning has concepts related to phenomena that occur in nature. Therefore, students must be able to understand science in its entirety with scientific literacy activities and students will be able to learn science more easily by increasing their problem-solving abilities. This study aims to determine whether or not scientific literacy has an effect on problem solving abilities. This research is an experimental research with simple linear regression analysis method. Using class 8 odd semesters with a total of 29 students and the tests used are scientific literacy tests and problem solving tests. The result of this research is that the highest scientific literacy criteria is sufficient criteria with a percentage of 57.14% and indicators identify valid scientific opinions with the highest percentage. Meanwhile, in problem solving ability, the highest criteria are very good criteria, namely 62.06% and the highest indicator is an indicator of understanding the problem. Regression analysis stated that the significance value was 0.000 <0.05. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the validity and effectiveness of the Culturally Responsive Teaching-based science module in improving the ecoliteracy of junior high school students in Jember Regency. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII F SMPN 1 Ajung totaling 31 students, with 17 male students and 14 female students. The research model used in this study is the 4-D (Four D) development model which consists of four stages including define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instruments in this study were interview guidelines, validation sheets, and pre-test and post-test sheets for students. The validity data analysis was obtained through a validation questionnaire validated by three expert validators, and the effectiveness data analysis was obtained through the results of the pre-test and post-test given to students at the time before the application of the Culturally Responsive Teaching-based science module and at the time after the application of the Culturally Responsive Teaching-based science module. The validity results of this study obtained an average assessment score from the three expert validators of 94% with very valid criteria so that culturally responsive teaching-based modules can be applied to science learning. The results of the effectiveness of culturally responsive teaching-based modules produce an average N-Gain value at SMPN 1 Ajung of 0.85 with high-value criteria so that students can increase student ecoliteracy. Based on the research results, it is concluded that developing culturally responsive teaching-based modules is valid and effective in improving students' ecoliteracy.         Keywords: culturally responsive teaching, ecoliteracy, learning module. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i1.pp329-340

Abstract

The Influence of the 7E Learning Cycle Learning Model assisted by the Physics Monopoly Game on High School Students' Physics Learning Activities and Results on the Subject of Gas Kinetic Theory. Objective: knowing the effect of the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by the monopoly physics game on the activities and learning outcomes of high school students. Methods: Using quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach and posttest-only control design. The population is class XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember and the sample is class XI IPA 1 (control) using the discussion and question and answer method then XI IPA 3 (experiment) using the 7E Learning Cycle model assisted by a monopoly physics game. Finding: The results of the activity t-test and student learning outcomes at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Genteng obtained sig. (2-tailed) smaller than 0.05.
