Abstract

Grape leaf diseases pose a major threat to vineyard productivity, making early and accurate detection essential for modern grape plantation management. Despite advancements in computer vision, challenges remain in differentiating diseases with visually similar symptoms. This study addresses that gap by developing a grape leaf disease classification system using a fine-tuned deep learning model based on the InceptionV3 architecture. Three training scenarios were conducted with fixed parameters batch size of 32 and learning rate of 0.001while varying the number of epochs (25, 50, and 75). Results showed a consistent improvement in classification accuracy with increased training epochs, reaching 98.64%, 98.78%, and 99.09% respectively. Confusion matrix analysis revealed that most misclassifications occurred between visually similar diseases such as Black Rot and ESCA, but error rates declined as the number of epochs increased. Rather than merely applying transfer learning, this research highlights the impact of systematic tuning specifically epoch count optimization in enhancing model accuracy for difficult to distinguish disease classes. These findings underscore the urgency of developing high performance, automated disease detection tools to support precision agriculture and sustainable crop health monitoring.

Abstract

One of the challenges in education is the deficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which can be attributed to the limited implementation of approaches that foster problem-solving. This study seeks to determine whether problem-solving skills within the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model affect students' learning outcomes at SMKN Sugihwaras in light vehicle engineering. The primary aim is to investigate the impact of problem-solving skills, fostered through the PBL model, on the learning outcomes of these students. The research adopts a predictive quantitative approach to foresee the influence of problem-solving skills within the PBL framework on student learning outcomes. Data collection methods include observations and student test results, while data analysis is conducted using simple linear regression. This statistical method assesses the effect of a single independent variable on a dependent variable. The simple linear regression analysis results reveal an R-squared value of 0.6063. This indicates that 61% of the variance in learning outcomes (y_score) can be explained by problem-solving skills (x_score), with the remaining 39% attributed to factors outside the model. Consequently, the study concludes that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted, demonstrating a significant impact of problem-solving skills within the PBL model on the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMKN Sugihwaras.

Abstract

The low interest and ability of SMKN 1 Bendo Magetan students in "calculating" indicates a competency gap that can hinder future career prospects. In addition, the low inability of students to adapt and make the right career decisions after graduation suggests a gap in the career guidance system in schools. Based on these problems, the urgency of this study is to identify several fundamental challenges in student career development. This study aims to determine the effect of Technical Skill, Career Decision Self-Efficacy, and Peer Support as independent variables and Career Adaptability as the dependent variable. This type of research uses quantitative with a correlational approach. The study was conducted in the Construction and Housing Engineering Expertise Concentration of SMKN 1 Bendo Magetan with a population of 214 students. The sample in this study was 214 students using the Convenience Sampling technique. The data collection technique used a psychological scale, namely the Technical Skill scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy and Peer Support, and the Career Adaptability scale, both in the form of a Likert scale. The findings show that technical skills, peer support, and career decision self-efficacy significantly and have a positive correlation affecting students' career adaptability. All three are competency constructs, not treatments. Each represents a different dimension in the development of individual potential. Technical skills, peer support, and self-confidence in career decision-making are essential determinants of career adaptability for students majoring in construction and housing engineering at SMKN 1 Bendo Magetan. The role of teachers is vital in improving aspects of students, one of which is career adaptability. In this case, teachers must also consider aspects outside student competency that can support student career adaptability. The researcher suggests that further research should examine other factors related to student career adaptability.
