Abstract

Light intensity measurements based on sensors often experience signal quality degradation due to noise interference. Although filtering methods are commonly used to reduce noise, improvements in signal stability are frequently accompanied by changes in dynamic response, resulting in a trade-off between accuracy and response speed that has not been extensively analyzed. This study aims to quantitatively evaluate the effect of Moving Average Filter (MAF) parameters on this trade-off in light sensor systems. The proposed method employs a first-order system simulation with a step input signal contaminated by White Gaussian Noise, which is subsequently processed using the MAF with various window sizes ( = 3, 5, 10, 20, and 40). The evaluation is conducted using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and rise time as indicators of estimation accuracy and response speed, respectively. The results demonstrate that increasing the window size significantly reduces the RMSE, decreasing from 0.0156 to 0.0072 under step-up conditions and from 0.0132 to 0.0066 under step-down conditions. Optimal performance is observed within the range of  = 10–20. However, this improvement in accuracy is accompanied by an increase in rise time, from 0.1027 s to 0.1175 s for step-up conditions and from 0.1036 s to 0.1191 s for step-down conditions, indicating a slower dynamic response. These findings confirm the existence of a trade-off between signal accuracy and response speed. Therefore, this study provides a quantitative basis for determining optimal filter parameters by considering the balance between measurement accuracy and system responsiveness in light intensity sensing applications.

Abstract

The fisheries department is one of the expertise programs in Vocational High Schools (VHS). Learning motivation towards the entrepreneurial intention of VHS students majoring in fisheries is still low. This is supported by the fact that some students do not know the relationship between entrepreneurial intentions and learning motivation, which can arouse students' intentions for entrepreneurship. Therefore, this research aims to see the effect of creativity and learning motivation on the entrepreneurial intentions of VHS students majoring in fisheries. This research is ex post facto research with a quantitative approach because the data is generated in the form of numbers and analyzed based on statistical analysis. The sample in this research was 100 students, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The results of this research explain that creativity has an influence on entrepreneurial intentions, and learning motivation has an influence on entrepreneurial intentions. This is evidenced through the results of the t-test where the sig value obtained is 0.003, whose value is much smaller than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05) and the t-count is greater than the t-table (2.614 > 1.984), so it can be said that creativity has an influence on entrepreneurial intention, as well as the learning motivation variable where the t-count value is greater than the t-table (2.679 > 1.984). This research contributes to the literature by providing insight into the role of creativity and learning motivation in shaping student entrepreneurial intentions, which can inform the development of entrepreneurship education programs and policies.

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking skills and mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of relations and functions through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. Conducted as a Classroom Action Research (CAR) at SMKN 6 Surabaya, the study involved 40 students of class X ULP 2 and was carried out over three months in two cycles. Data were collected using tests, observations, and questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in cognitive learning outcomes. The average score in the basic cognitive domain (C1–C3) increased from 73.71 in the first cycle to 75.9 in the second cycle. The lowest score rose from 37.5 to 54.2, and the number of students who achieved completion increased from 22 to 34. In the complex cognitive domain (C4–C6) that showed critical thinking skills, the average increased from 40.09 to 61.4. The highest score rose from 70.83 to 91.7, and there were no more students in the low-scoring category. These findings suggest that the PBL approach, when supported by structured assignments and exercises, can effectively foster critical thinking and improve mathematics achievement in vocational high school setting.

Abstract

Abstract

The increasing use of converted electric motorcycles requires a monitoring system capable of continuously monitoring and recording vehicle operating conditions. The limited data logging capability of the BRT Juken 10 controller causes operational parameters and fault information that occur during vehicle operation to not be continuously documented. This study aims to design and implement a real-time monitoring and data logging prototype for the BRT Juken 10 controller based on the ESP32 microcontroller. The study employed an experimental engineering method through hardware implementation, microcontroller programming, functional testing, and prototype evaluation under operational conditions. Controller data were acquired through UART communication, while RPM, current, voltage, power, and fault status were displayed on a TFT LCD and automatically recorded on a microSD card in .csv format. The test results show that the prototype is capable of receiving, processing, displaying, and recording operational data in real time. Under normal operating conditions, the recorded data show relatively stable RPM, current without significant spikes, gradually decreasing voltage, and relatively constant power. The system is also capable of displaying connection status, microSD card condition, and fault information transmitted by the controller as preliminary information for fault diagnosis. Therefore, the developed prototype can be used as a monitoring and data logging system to support performance monitoring and preliminary fault analysis of electric motorcycles equipped with the BRT Juken 10 controller.

Abstract

The use of teaching aids in implementing learning can arouse new desires and interests in learning, arouse motivation and learning stimuli, and bring psychological influences to students. This study aims to improve students' understanding of roof components through 3D Sketchup and teaching aids. The research in the first and second cycles was conducted in one meeting, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The collection of information about students' understanding was obtained by providing a questionnaire of students' responses to the understanding of roof truss objects quantitatively. The results of the questionnaire given to students regarding the understanding of imagining real objects in roof truss construction before learning, 52.94% chose scale 1 (very much do not understand) and 47.06% chose scale 2 (do not understand). While the results of the questionnaire given to students regarding the understanding of imagining real objects in roof truss construction after learning, 58.82% chose scale 4 (understand) and 41.18% chose scale 5 (very much understand). Based on the results obtained, the use of 3D sketchup and roof models can improve students' understanding of the components of the roof.
