Abstract

The aim to describe the implementation of biology learning and analyze the positive aspects of the curriculum in Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School (GMIS) Semarang .The evaluation of this CIPP model used descriptive-qualitative approach. The variables were the Cambridge Curriculum with context, input, process, and product aspects. The data collection techniques used documentation, observation, and interviews. The data analysis method used triangulation. The research results showed that in context, the profile of GMIS Semarang has a background as an international school in accordance with government regulations. The input consists of students, curriculum, teachers, facilities and infrastructure, and teaching materials that fulfill the standards. The process consists of the implementation of  biology learning had a very good criteria which is 90% in the classroom and 92% practicum, the media was used as a support for learning, laboratories and library was used well. The assignments and teacher administration had been given well. The product in the form of student learning outcomes were good but it needed to be improved and the achievements that had been achieved by students at national and international levels were good. And there were positive aspects that can be applied to the national schools in improving the education quality.

Abstract

The achievement of student learning outcomes is influenced by various factors, such as learning resources and ways of learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between learning resources and learning outcomes; know the relationship between how to learn and the learning outcomes; and know the relationship between learning resources and ways of learning on the learning outcomes. The sample in this study was 108 students. The independent variables in this study are learning resources (X1) and ways of learning (X2). The dependent variable in this study is learning outcomes (Y). The data collection method used a questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis in this study used descriptive percentages, multiple linear regression, t test and F test. The results showed that the analysis of multiple linear regression obtained equation: Y = 52.078 + 0.224X1 + 0.203X2. Partially, the influence of learning resources on learning outcomes was 43.3%, while the influence of learning methods was 42.6%. Simultaneously, learning resources and ways of learning influenced the learning outcomes by 47.3%, with SE (X1) = 24.6%, and SE (X2) = 22.7%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that learning resources and ways of learning significantly influenced learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. In this study, learning resources had a greater influence on learning outcomes compared to the of way of learning on learning outcomes. Thus, schools need to optimize all learning resources both in their existence and utilization, and students need to improve their way of learning in order to get optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tuberculosis or TB is a contagious infectious disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosa bacillus. Suspect pulmonary tuberculosis is a person who has signs and symptoms of pulmonary TB. The diagnosis of pulmonary TB can be established based on clinical symptoms, physical examination and bacteriologic examination. This study aims to develop a standard instrument of suspected pulmonary TB in families with positive pulmonary tuberculosis. The method used in this research is the development of an instrument that refers to the development of Djemari Mardapi model with 9 steps of development. This research was conducted with 3 stages. The first stage is the preliminary stage, then the development stage and last is the evaluation stage. Instrument review by expert or content validity was analyzed using Aiken V formula, instrument reliability based on agreement of experts analyzed using Two Way Anava and reanalyzed using Hoyt formula. The construct validity was analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with the help of SPSS 18.0 software, while instrument reliability based on field results was analyzed using KR-20 formula. The results of the content validity indicate that twenty-six instrument items have values >0.3 which means that all valid instrument items are used. The result of reliability based on expert agreement shows the value of 0.824 which means experts agree in judging. The result of construct validity is Kaiser Meyer Olkin (KMO) 0,816, Measure Sampling Adequacy (MSA) >0,5, and Bartlett's test 0,000 significance test so that instrument item can be analyzed further. There are 5 factors formed from the 26 available instrument items and each item in each factor has a factor loading value> 0.3. Instrument reliability results using KR-20 formula of 0.929, which means reliable instrument used. Based on the evaluation of standard instrument of early detection of pulmonary tuberculosis suspect developed, overall 26 instrument items able to measure indicator of variable to be measured. Further developed instruments can be used by health workers and cadres to perform suspect pulmonary tuberculosis in the community.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the absence of an early detection instrument for the risk of pneumonia that was tested for validity and reliability. Instruments about pneumonia found in integrated management of sick toddlers have less detailed indicators that only include breathing speed. The aim of the study was to produce an instrument of early detection of the risk of pneumonia that was valid and reliable. This research is a development research conducted in the Puskesmas ngemplak in Semarang. The subject of this study was 100 respondents. Test the content validity using Aiken's V formula and reliability test using Hoyt. In the trial, the reliability was analyzed using Alpha Cronbach. In the validity and reliability test the valid instrument items were more than 0.3 for each item and the instrument reliability was at 0.869> 0.7. The construct validity test using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) formed 3 factors, namely factor 1 (signs and symptoms), factor 2 (individual behavior) and factor 3 (environment). This study produces valid and reliable instruments. The benefit of this study is that instruments that are valid and reliable can be used as a standard guide in knowing how much a person is exposed to pneumonia

Abstract

Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran IPA belum mengajarkan siswa dalam proses berpikir dan menemukan pengetahuannya sendiri melalui kerja ilmiah. Hal ini terjadi karena Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) yang digunakan belum berperan maksimal dalam melatih siswa melakukan penyelidikan.Langkah-langkah yang disajikan dalam LKS kurang melatih siswa melakukan proses ilmiah, menganalisis dan menemukan suatu konsep. LKS belum biasa digunakan untuk mencari atau menemukan suatu konsep, dan mengaplikasikan konsep yang sudah ada dalam kehidupan. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkan LKS yang dapat membimbing siswa dalam melakukan kerja ilmiah dan menuntun siswa dalam proses belajar. LKS yang dikembangkan yaitu berupa LKS berbasis keterampilan proses sains. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan research and development. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis keterampilan proses sains tema fotosintesis dapat dikatakan layak oleh pakar sesuai dengan standar kelayakan BSNP. Pada uji coba skala kecil, LKS berbasis keterampilan proses sains mendapat respon sangat baik oleh guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan LKS berbasis keterampilan proses sainsberpengaruh atau meningkatkan kemampuan kerja ilmiah siswa. The observations results showed that science teaching activities have not taught students in the process of thinking and finding his own knowledge through the scientific work.This happens because the student worksheet has not used the maximum role in training students to investigate. The stepspresented in worksheets less train students perform scientific process, analyze and find a concept. Worksheets has not been commonly used to look for or find a concept, and apply the concepts that already there is in life.For it is necessary to develop worksheets that can guide studens in doing scientific work and guide students in the learning process. Worksheets that were developed in the form of worksheets based science process skills. The design oft his study used a research and development approach. The results showed that the worksheets based science process skills theme photosynthesis can besaid to be feasibleby expertsin accordance with eligibility standards of BSNP. On a small scale trial, worksheets based science process skills havea great response by teachers and students.The results also in dicate that theuse of worksheets based science process skills affector increase the ability of student’s scientific work.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model with ethnoscience to the improvement of creative thinking skills in the process of making tempe. The subjects in this study were 40 students in one school in Banyumas district. This type of research is quantitative research. The research method used one group pre-test and post-test design. Based on the results of the analysis obtained data pre-test and post-test creative thinking skills with a n-gain score of 0.7 with a high category. The results of the questionnaire for creative thinking skills were 14 students in the high category, 23 students in enough categories, and 3 students in the low category. It can be concluded that learning using the ethnics-charged Project Based Learning (PjBL) model can improve student's creative thinking skills in elementary schools.

Abstract

Laboratory technician skills in handling experimental animals are needed by the study program, which uses experimental animals in the lecture and research process. The Biology Laboratory of FMIPA UNNES has the resources to practice these skills. As the realization of the 3rd Dharma of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, community service is carried out to improve the skills of higher education laboratory technicians both private and public universities in the city of Semarang in handling experimental animals. The method used is training in the form of hands-on practice. The animals used were mice and white rats. The trained practices were bioethics, maintenance techniques, handling, gavage, drawing blood, and vaginal smears of experimental animals. The participants consisted of 29 laboratory technicians from general medicine, dentistry, biology, biology education, pharmacy, and animal husbandry study programs. The training instructors consist of lecturers, technicians, and student assistants. The training was held for two days by implementing health protocols. As a result, the participants improved their skills. From the beginning, only 29,26% of participants had the knowledge and skills to handle experimental animals at the end of the training, increasing to 86.84%. It concludes that the participants have increased their knowledge and skills in handling experimental animals.

Abstract

Biology subjects in high school learn everything about life. In this case it involves skills and reasoning. This study aims to analyze the validity, effectiveness, practicality, and characteristics of android-based e-booklets. This research is a research and development or R&D. The development in this study adopted a 4-D model which included four stages namely define, design, develop, dissemination. The results of the study on the validity test showed that the material experts obtained a value of 92.14% with a very good category. Based on the results of the validation of media experts obtained a value with a percentage of 86.29% in the very good category. The results of the research on the effectiveness of android-based e-booklet are 1) classical completeness ≥ 80%, 2) N-Gain test results are different and better (has increased). Cognitive learning outcomes (students' critical thinking) showed that the percentage of students’ classical completeness was 88.27%, the N-Gain Test was in the high (53%), moderate (45%), low (2%) category. Based on the analysis of affective and psychomotor competencies with very good criteria. The results of research on students’ attitudes of caring for environment showed that the percentage of students' scores was 82% with an excellent category. Based on the effectiveness analysis it can be concluded that the android-based e-booklet is effectively applied in biodiversity subject. In the analysis of the results of the practicality of the android-based e-booklet media showed a very good response from teachers and students. The characteristics of an android-based e-booklet consist of a cover, a menu display consisting of preface, KI and KD, material, and evaluation questions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze higher order thinking skills, character, and science process skills of high school students on plant tissue material through the Project Based Learning (PPA) model. This research method uses Pre-Experimental Designs. This research was conducted in Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar high school. The research sample used was 78 students. The instruments used were multiple choice questions and observation sheets. Student learning outcomes data were analyzed using the N-Gain technique and the minimal classical completeness test to determine higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The results showed that the Project Besed Learning (PjBL) Model was effective in improving students' high-order thinking skills (HOTS) with an average N-Gain of 0.52 in the "medium" category. Effectively growing student character with an average score percentage of 70.36% is included in the "good" category. The character of students that grows includes disciplinary responsibility and cooperation. And it is effective in growing students' science process skills with an average score of 74.73% of science process skills in the "good" category, the science process skills that grow are observing, planning experiments, carrying out experiments, and communicating.

Abstract

The learning model that combines nash (al-Quran and hadith) with Plantae subjects was developed by the teacher to train integrative thinking’s students. This research was aimed to develop a Plantae learning model accompanied by nash (Plantaenash) oriented to scientific literacy to foster students' integrative thinking skills. Integrative thinking skilis in the form of the ability to apply knowledge from various disciplines and contexts into real situations and the ability to analyze. This research method is Research and Development (R & D). The learning model was developed on the basis of needs analysis and particular literature reviews. The research product is a learning model with a teacher's guide sheet. Validity of the products was assessed by experts and teachers with an average score of 85.93% which was classified as "very valid". The results of the effectiveness of the learning model showed a moderate N-Gain value, namely 0.60. The results showed that the Plantae learning model accompanied by nash (Plantaenash) oriented to scientific literacy to foster students 'integrative thinking skills was very valid and effective to use to foster students' integrative thinking skills.
